I'd like to point out that Starfox 64 3D is not a faithful rerelease because, like every Castleviania: Symphony of the Night rerelease, they redubbed all of the memorable lines.

They did? Well I didn't know that. But aside from that at least it was physical on the 3DS versus Locked behind a digital paid subscription so it's still leaps and bounds better than what Nintendo is giving you now.

It's not on the cart That's what I said in the video It's only through Nintendo's online membership service. If you want to physical game you'll have to buy the original Game Boy advance carts and the Nintendo DS cart.

Me too Mandy. Maybe if the community makes enough noise to listen. But I'm glad to have my GBA in box copies at least. I may need to buy me one of those pockets everyone seems to be crazy about so I can play these games and the best way possible. I won't be angry at anybody who wants to use Nintendo online to experience this. If that's your only way to play it then go for it. I'm just an old gamer rambling about something that the kiddos don't care much about like i do. I appreciate you watching dear. ❤️

Why they haven't done a collection that celebrates all of Nintendo like Atari did for the 50th which in my opinion is the best retro collection to ever be made with how they did it IMO. It would sell like hotcakes. But Nintendo doesn't want to do that sadly. 😢

@@pauleckert4321 Because if they did that they couldn't make money off this subscription service which makes them more than a physical compilation. Similar to putting those classic games inside NES and SNES classic systems and selling it for a higher premium because they knew nostalgia would sell. This way they get you paying that subscription continuously for the rest of your life or forever as long as that console is on the market. That's exactly what game pass is and why Microsoft is pulling away from physical media. Subscription services of any kind take away consumer rights and options and we unfortunately keep letting it happen. I've been saying that Sony should have done a collection of PS1 best sellers on a PS4 PS5 physical disk for years but they won't do it. The most we could hope for is another 3D Mario All-Stars release. Nintendo definitely should do that because we only got Mario Galaxy 1 on the first release. That really should have been a four-game Mario collection.

Yeah me too it's one of my favorite JRPGs on the GBA. But I bought boxes copies last year around summertime so I at least have physicals but it's not without a expensive cost

Yeah I did play this back in high school, borrowed the game from a friend (loved both games and the DS one too) and I wish there was an updated physical release. I'm someone who's not against digital, but I am someone very against ONLY digital. Especially when these games eventually get delisted, only part of a subscription service so could be removed at anytime, and you have to bet on when the Switch successor comes out, we will have to pay for the exact same stuff again, expect probably even more expensive. Having a world where physical and digital coexist would be ideal. Sadly that will never be the case. Anyways sorry for my own rant here haha

Never apologize for a good rant man. I appreciate you took the time to watch and reply. I get where your coming from. I do agree. I don't mind digital distribution existing. Some games are only released because of that. Indie devs can't afford to release physical unless it's through companies like the one I work for Premium Edition Games. But for them to try and erase physical media and take away physical game ownership and downplay game preservation is wrong! Companies only care about investors and money. They only do what we like as a bi-product of that. I give praise when they do something right and call out the things they do wrong. Showing loyalty to a brand that only sees you as a dollar sign does not help anything. That's why console wars are stupid.

Because as sucky as it is you can't help but laugh at how clueless and out of touch with gamers these companies are. Especially when they've done it right before over the years numerous times as I stated in the video. I'll always prefer a physical that I get to display trade lend sale And do whatever the heck I want to with it. Ownership will never outweigh a digital platform in my honest opinion. Forget golden sun Why is no one talking about summon night and the third untranslated game in the gameboy advance series Nintendo could release all three games and finally translate the last one for the gba since the fan translation is taking so long (almost 20 years I think)

I want them all man. I still got a factory sealed copy of Summon Night 5 on the PSP. I also want the other SMT Atlus games brought back. Give me all of the classic RPGs and JRPGs back into physical form. If it was up to me there would be physicals of them in every store but Unfortunately I don't call the shots on that.

Im upset at myself i got the pass to just play this 2 months ago. At 39 almost 40 I remember bringing my gba to high school in i think 10th grade and getting in trouble with it so addicted to golden sun lol. Ive wasted hundreds of dollars buying collectors editions i should just fork up some cash for my favorites back in the day physical Honestly having a backlog of " new games" isnt as exciting either as the old. This digital media move horrifies me, we have NO CONTROL over our games or updates either. Time for them to censor/change our games and w.o a disc or cartridge well were screwed. I honestly think modern gaming is at a turning point to be dead now. Im old enough having nintendo in the 80s to start back collecting some retro and just calling it quits on new games plenty of old to play/replay Great video as always man!

Yeah it's real shame. I most fond memories are with the Game boy family of systems PS1 PS2 GameCube and a little PS3 Those are the consoles I really prefer and I want to have those experiences back. But I don't want it to be some lazy online membership. You can import Asian English cartridges of a romancing saga Final Fantasy 9 etc but in the West you can't get them or if you do get something like that you have to go through a limited publisher and pay more money because they can't just do a standard physical release like Persona 3 and Persona 4 Golden. Video games are turning into something that's just meant to be played once and then move on to the next thing The industry is too large no games can really have the time to shine unless they are a AAA or in standout indie title I do not like how oversaturated the market has become When you used to buy a game growing up in the '90s that game meant the world to you because there wasn't hundreds of games coming out every week You had choices but you weren't drowned in them. Unfortunately the industry has gotten too large and those who were there that helped make These companies as big as they are today are being treated with the most disrespect and left behind for casuals who have no care or no appreciation for what came before. No problem love all the content. I keep telling myself every year this is the year i stop buying new games. Theres ALOT of switch titles that i have been loving tho. I remember being 16 and walking to game stop and feeling appreciated too. Buying box sets of anime and making it an event. Now it feels like fast food of my paycheck what games next to check off the list. You basicslly said exactly how im feeling Collectors edition pre order after preorder. This year has so many tirles. But it all just feels so empty. Gaming was a niche art a medium of expression that i loved, but nowadays its some big commercial giant that only feeds a bottomless pit to make money. I think now is the time more than ever to start collecting retro i mean I owned a nintendo in 86 a snes a genesis a dreamcast a 64 a ps1 ps2 ps3 gamecube wii ... we are " the retro" and really im feeling more and more at each passing day now is the time to go back and ignore the endless pit of churned out games of modern day Its so strange too, i remember bsck in ps1 with tekken and ff7 " its in 3d! I cant wait when it goes realistic looking" now its" ughh a movie sim game thats empty " please get me away lol

I remember having to go to Walmart or a rental store to play a new game or buy a new game and you would see everything and be so mesmerized by it all Now I walk into Walmart and I see a game case and I'm just MEH! "I can buy these online for cheaper" That there lies the problem buying a game is just ordering it online now There's no special event or story or fond memory You just wait for it to come in the mail. And I enjoyed not having to get out to go by my games but at the same time I also miss how special it was or how you would walk into a store and you would see a game you never heard of before. Now the internet is spoiling games weeks upon weeks before they even come out or they go to Steam as early access so it's not a big special occasion or some big channel is already slapping HIDDEN GEM on a modern ass video game that just came out..... I don't understand the gaming world anymore It's not for me I feel like I'm being betrayed by the companies that I supported for years. Where as there are still some fantastic experiences and stellar games that are worth playing and owning. You have to sift through so much shit just to get to the true gems. Sure buying retro now is stupid expensive and some games will always be out of my price range. In modern TVs not having old hookups making it harder to actually play them. It's still more enjoyable to me. And I would rather have those games on my shelf proudly being displayed then all this modern stuff that I have to download a bunch of junk just to play anyways.

I feel you man. That's why I won't pay for it. I'm just glad I got inbox copies last year because I am pretty sure the prices for that will rise thanks to this online subscription. Folks are going to be looking for hard copies. Influencers and TikTokers are going to want to brag about having it even though they never play the games in their lives but they have to for their "community"

@@Phil1Up_Collects Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask are on the Nintendo Switch but you have to upgrade your NSO subscription to play them and it's not cheap to upgrade your NSO subscription so I'm just gonna get the Ocarina of Time 3D and Majora's Mask 3D for the 3DS and I don't understand why they haven't put Wind Waker and Twilight Princess on the Nintendo Switch it's been nearly 7yrs my best option at this point is to track down a Wii U buy the games and play them that way
