You can watch a movie in your bedroom on a 100 inch screen. Maybe you feel like sitting in the living room…now you have a 100 inch screen there too. Maybe it’s a nice warm night and you want to sit on your front/back porch, now you have a 100 inch screen there as well. You can’t carry your 65 inch tv from room to room lol.

When I saw the Macintosh in '84, I knew computing had completely changed. It took the industry years to catch up to the vision. The iPhone completely changed the landscape of phones within just a couple years. As I watched the video last June on the Vision Pro, I had chills realizing how much this would change things again. The Mac was look and point with your hand. The iPhone was look and touch. The Vision Pro is look.

Not too many of us around anymore, (128k)… I remember the feeling well! I probably owned 85% of every Mac Apple ever put out. The financial commitment and direction this seems to be going have a similar feel; I don't think Apple would've put this much money and technical directional change into something that they didn't feel had promise.

I've messed a bit with Augmented reality with the Quest 3, and with eye tracking on the PSVR 2. Navigating menu's with eye tracking feels amazing. it's like it is reading your mind! I hope the vision pro is a nice combination of both!

I feel the exact same way about it brother! I’m a big Back II the Future fan and my love for new innovative tech has been priceless ever since I was a kid watching this movie. Experiences are priceless and you only have certain moments in life to take advantage of them!

It would be cool if we could adjust the opacity of open apps when multitasking. For example, I’d love it if open apps that I’m not looking at directly had a ghost-like pass through. Then, once you look directly at the app, the opacity reduces and you see the app as you normally would.

After following all the rumours for a decade I was ecstatic when the Vision Pro was announced. They had already sold me on it before it was even out but 10 minutes into the presentation I was sold on it even more. Seeing people put it down is crazy to me because they don’t even have a reference to compare it too, and meta doesn’t count- not the same thing. I think $3500 shocked people as we’ve never really seen something (besides Mac Pro) start that high, there’s usually cheaper entry points, however it’s the price of a 16” MacBook Pro so it’s not horrendous for what you get.

You’re one cool dude! Really. One of the most profound statements I’ve heard any creators say is one there was a time where a new product came out and it wasn’t just tore down by social media just because you have a voice. I have been a tech geek my entire life as well and I think the perspective I have especially with young kids now they expect so much of technology that the magic of it I think it’s gone for them. My kids think the Internet is like air. It was always here. Meanwhile I came up when there was zero Internet for homes, cell phones were only for rich folks or business folks, Satellite TV had a dish that was about 20 feet wide. And I will say that if the kids and immature adults would not be influenced by the negative side of technology, social media, and so forth they would really actually get how todays technology world really is amazing.

Preordered it for similar reasons, STNG halodek YES, been playing with vr since oculus dk2, vive, Index and quest 3. I have been avoiding the ultra high end pcvr stuff for one reason. Lack of software. Apple was my last hope for vr... Valve's device... maybe. Astonished by the specs like IR flooding your hands to see your hand gestures in low light. My personal approach to the tech will be a digital oasis. No social media apps period... Maybe KZbin. With virtually no notifications that includes emails. Just my work, family and some entertainment... 3d movie on micro OLED screens. Social media is very overwhelming on these devices. Last thing you want is triggering content that is unnecessary in vr. I'm pumped for it!

I hate when people think mixed reality in glasses is so great. Because when you see it in glasses everything 3d object you see in your room will be see through which breaks the immersion for me personally. That’s why I got Apple Vision Pro because I’ll get to experience AR without it being see through. I rest my case bro. In the 90s, I was dreaming of solid state hard drives, tablet computing. The iPad Pro I am writing on now wasn’t even a distant dream. I remember having 256 colour graphics card and was able to play a movie clip and friends came round to see it.😂😂😂 Don’t even get me started on dial up.

Thank you for your positive take. I’m also excited. This is the biggest leap in computing since the iPhone, although it won’t sell in iPhone quantities. (almost nothing does). It displays anything anywhere, 2D or 3D, in your space or a completely immersive space. You don’t need controllers or even headphones. “I don’t see a use for it” 😐 are they kidding?

Funny thing no one ever mentions is that the Microsoft Holo Lens which, if you think about it is the actual competitor to the Vision Pro starts at $3500 with wayyyyyy worse Specs and Design.

The most impressive thing about vision pro by a mile is how the user interacts with it (using eyes and hand gestures). That's a huge technological challenge. It will take a long time for competitors to reach that level.

Just a reminder, Everyone who bought a Vision Pro should also buy a USB-C to USB-C 2M long cable. The included cable is too short and will severely limit your movement if you plan to use it powered all day. The battery pack has to connect to the USBC cable which then has to connect to the power adapter.

I think Apple's movement into the space is absolutely catalytic. However, at this point, VR (as we know it today) has been kicking around since 2012 with the Oculus Rift, and AR (after the likes of what Apple is doing) has been around since the Microsoft Holo Lens introduced in 2016. (To say nothing of the false starts for VR in the 80s and again in the 90s.) So modern AR/VR has been clunking long for 12 years, and though the industry has been growing, it hasn't been the rocket ship that the smart phone revolution was. So my main curiosity is: Will Apple manage to accelerate this space, bring us closer to the yearly product cadence we see in other areas, and the progress that goes with that? Or are we going to continue down this slow burn path of multi-year gaps between releases of anything that can be truly consider innovative? At the current rate of progress, we may still be a decade away from AR/VR going mainstream. That threshold is the breaking point where AR/VR becomes truly indispensable to your average person, and that's where all the excitement is.

I had orientation locked on both iPads, so I didn’t order one. I’m mad at myself. I got even with Apple right after that and ordered a very expensive sound bar instead. Now I can’t afford to order it. : ). I’ve had a bunch of first already, so I guess I’ll let you have to do this one. : ). Well, at least I don’t have to ban them completely because I wasn’t gonna even watch reviews about it when it came out. 😂 I’ll let the rest of you work the bugs out then I’ll get it once it’s on sale. I’m kind of pissed at them for not warning me in software that I had the orientation locked but on the other hand, I’m happy because I don’t have to ban them for the rest of my life. 😂. Apple needs to make sure I can at least get Steam working in the headset. I was going to buy this on faith and hope that it got added in, but without that it’s kind of a dealbreaker. If I can’t game with my AAA titles like flight Sims, I can’t see spending the money unless I can use it for art. I wanna also be able to use my iPad and pencil as a part of the process. You can do a lot finder detail work with a pencil and the iPad digitizer. 5:17 the technology has just begun. No one’s really using it the way that it should be because we should be training ourselves in VR. There’s a huge amount of complicated information we could teach children and adults in VR a lot easier than other methods.

The only problem with this thing is, it is wayy more heavier than a regular VR headset, and the FOV which is not good makes you feel like viewing through a porthole, These are reasons enough to make you stressful while using this headset

Great video! I preordered too. $4000 with lens, case, and 1TB, but I can’t wait. Fully agree with not letting other people decide if you like something. They like the design of the product. 3. It's something new from Apple that people have been waiting for. 4. The potential uses for the product are exciting, such as consuming media in different ways, recording memories, and high-fidelity pass-through. 5. The specs and technology inside the headset are impressive, such as 4K resolution in each eye and low latency. 6. The Vision Pro could either replace or be a convenient substitute for other devices, making travel and work easier. 7.
