I wonder if they all need a bigger enclosure, just to be able to establish their own community groups? They're so cute! I hope they thrive in their new setups.

Wow, first time I’ve been so early. You do a great job keeping your pets. Always a good moment when you post. Your chill vibe is relaxing, and you’re always so informative. You do great things for people with arachnophobia. 😊

I’ve bred them and have multiple communals with hundreds of slings being produced. they are definitely communal you just need food always available for them and more space
@tarantulakat7 ай бұрын
I mean, there are some that are extremely obese and grow rapidly and others that stay skinny and die so I don’t really want to risk it anymore.
@charlottes_webs7 ай бұрын
@@tarantulakat you could grow them bigger then put them back together, I’ve added more into other communals further down the line and found no issues at all. I have found that you do get one or two that basically steal all the food for themselves and I did spilt an eggsac by mistake once and an elder sibling ate the eggs 😬 but I also have a huge three foot communal with all sizes in that is thriving and I think that’s down to the amount of space they have.
@edwardcrowley45647 ай бұрын
yeah I have 2 small sling comumunals 4 in one 3 in the other .. I just toss in lots of fruit flies every couple of days, seems to be working just fine, I did notice they all find their own areas to build a nest, unlike my dumicolas who all stay together in a group
@Becsbeasties6 ай бұрын
Definitely more space needed and more food. It could be the females that are getting bigger and fatter
@roseg41Ай бұрын
i keep seeing them sold as groups of 3 i would love to have a communal group of them. The only thing i'm wonder is will they breed and how many babies are expected i don't think i can handle that lol
@snowpuppies17 ай бұрын
This reminds me of the debate over bettas in the fish keeping world. Some bettas (male and female) do well in a community tank, and some females can do well in a sorority tank. Some DO NOT. I think it may just be individual features.

They are absolutely communal. There are a few of us breeders in the uk who have communals thriving, Particularly phidporium who was the second person in the uk to breed them and has basically supplied 99% of them here! She has since had hundreds. She has a huge communal who are consistently producing. You will always get stronger and weaker babies as that’s why they have so many :) I have found when the are babies to make sure there is constantly food in the enclosure. Once they reach juvie I feed 2 to 3 times a week and always put more food in than the number of spiders. Hope this helps
@tarantulakat7 ай бұрын
I’m seeing a lot of people dispute that now, so that combined with my experience of having some hog food, grow rapidly and gain size while others seem to struggle and die just makes me want to separate some to be safe .. I’ll keep a few communal as I said but if I observe the same thing I’m going to also separate them because I rather them not die 😬
@Occultexotics7 ай бұрын
@@tarantulakat fair enough :) touch wood I’ve had no problems with cannibalism thankfully and I’ve kept a lot of them together! Enough space and consistent/extra food seems to be the best 😊 I’ve kept those and the stegodyphus lineatus and the stegodyphus tibialis communally too in same ways (except obviously the stegodyphus, are arboreal) and always been okay x

I have vision problems and I'm pretty sure I won't be able to catch, handle, or feed spiders the small insects they need. I don't really want a spider large enough to eat crickets et cetera! Oh, crickets smell awful to me. It surprises me when other people can't smell them! It's not quite the same as actually keeping a spider (jumping spider???) as a pet, let alone breeding them, but I do enjoy your videos. Thank you.

The space is too small for that many🥹 with gandanameno they need more room to prevent this happening. They absolutely are communal!

This is really interesting. I wonder if temperament (personalities? Arachalities?) differences are genetic too, and whether selectively putting together calmer more communal ones foster more communal behaviours? Guess in the wild the more dominant ones tend to establish faster but if they are pets maybe the communal traits are advantageous? Just a thought.

I just want to say, and I know it’s taboo, so I’m going to say I hope you’re not sick and I’m not assuming that you are sick, but your voice does sound different in this video, and I’m a very big fan of the way that it sounds. Certain things that you say, it drifts ever so slightly into almost Harley Quinn or Fran Drescher, and I think that’s really cool!
