I've been selling sports cards on eBay, BuySportsCard.com, COMC and even a little bit of Facebook Marketplace. In this video, I am going to share why I am moving most of my sports card inventory to COMC exclusively. Enjoy!

COMC has really evolved over the past year. Grading is affordable, they also offer pre grade service. I find COMC a space saver, and a big time saver. Fees may add up, but your not shipping, listing, worrying about feedback, shipping supplies, etc. I'm using COMC to downsize & upgrade my collection, selling off cards I don't want to pay for grading and new cards. I save my higher end cards to sell on eBay myself.

That makes a lot of sense as an approach. And yeah I agree their evolution recently is great.

As tempting as it is to move everything to COMC I just can’t get past the fact that after I pay all the fees to list and sell my cards that I then am charged another 10% to get my cash. That’s absolutely wild imo when many consignment sellers will do an ACH payment free into your checking or savings account.

Yeah, I could understand that. I did make a video awhile back that looked at the actual fee structure with concrete examples and what I found was that all things added in, the amount COMC takes in the end and the amount eBay takes in the end almost evened themselves out, especially if you do a handful of listings with eBay promotions. I personally use a good amount of my COMC sales to buy other cards as well (either for my pc or to flip on the platform or to flip to sell elsewhere), in which case they don't take that 10%. But I do understand what your saying, that cash-out fee ain't my fav.

Great insights. I’m using Comc to sell more too. My portfolio sales aren’t happening like before. More eBay’s auctions via Comc. I also like the epacks to Comc options

Do you find the COMC eBay auction do as well as regular eBay auctions? Have you tried the live auctions yet?

@@scoa I just started selling Lorcana on Comc eBay and they suck in value. Coming in 1/3 the SRP. Most of my Comc inventory is under $20 so not much to use. I have not tried live yet.

I can understand. I've done some math of my sales and found that overall, when all is considered, the percent eBay and COMC take from me actually end up being pretty much the same all things considered.

Never sold on COMC, but after doing research for a couple weeks and now watching your series, I think I might. I have sold on Ebay back in early 2000s and wanted to start again now that I have the time but I dread the process of taking pics, posting, shipping and dealing with all the complaints. I think I will sell my graded stuff on Ebay and the rest on COMC. Did you ever do a card show?

Good luck! I think it's good that you're trying out both comc and eBay. You should be able to pretty quickly see the pros and cons of each. I never have sold at a card show. I've thought about it, and even started putting together budget boxes to have at a card show table. But never have done it yet. They don't happen in my area, like ever, so if I really wanted to it, I'd have to commit to travel too

I actually don't do many. I'm in oregon, and they are rare here. I'm 2 hours away from Portland, where there is a monthly mall card show, otherwise almost nothing basically in the whole state

How can you check total sales on ebay ? I can only see last 90 days but would love to be able to see further back

I don't think you can do it on a phone, but on the computer if you go into your "sales" section you can see your profits over longer time blocks.

I guess it's really up to the individual. I can't imagine stopping what I'm doing with ebay to have comc do it all for me for more fees. I enjoy handling these cards. If you can't sit and enjoy this "job" it's probably not for you.

Yeah, I think its really just up to the individual. I also do enjoy having the cards in hand too. But COMC's fees and eBay's fees pretty much even themselves out, so I'm not too worried about that one. And busy life circumstances are making this path a bit more doable for the time being for me. But I definitely don't think my current approach is the be all end all for everyone. Probably not even the end of the road path for myself either. But it is my path for now to add some balance to life.

Ebay capping me at 1000 listings a month being a seller on there for 10 plus years with a perfect feedback I might need to go comc

I'm surprised you have a cap like that. Is it because you are relatively new on their platform? Or do you need to upgrade your store? But, yeah, COMC is one of the options I think would be worth considering. Or maybe consignment?

How do you get your cards into the COMC eBay live auctions? Every time I check the option isn't available but I would like to try it out.

Friday mornings, they open up submissions for live auction submissions at 9 am pacific time. But they fill up really fast. Sometimes by 9:30 am. You kind of have to have yourself ready to go, knowing exactly what cards you want to get up there. Its a bit hectic. But be careful on which cards you send. Big names only. Shiny cards help. It's a wild space.

Interesting comments on the algorithms, I don't have the knowledge, incentive or time to learn how to play those games. I suppose if you know the game and play it well it works for you, but for the average Joe dabbling on the side it's not a winning proposition...
