Brilliantly put, Randy. No matter what…a man has to mature into a grown up. What you just explained is how a grownup determines his path for success. Not as a bass hero (or hockey hero, etc.); but, a hero for himself and the things (and especially people) that matter the most.

I am 64 years old, lifelong resident of Arkansas, hunted & fished my entire life & still love it as much as I ever did. Wife of 41 years passed away 3 years ago. I am retired & loving every minute of it. My dad always said “That when your hobby becomes a job, you lose your love for it”. I fish relentlessly because I love it. Never once won any money. I fish for the serenity & peace it offers (and the delicious table fare). Hope no one EVER has to go through losing their Soulmate to realize what’s important. I understand your reasoning Randy & hope that your fishing once again becomes your hobby & love not your job. Here’s to a happy life with your family & may God Richly Bless your every endeavor moving forward. I hope that all who are chasing their Dream of being a Professional Fisherman realize what you have said & sure hope they realize what is REALLY involved. Serving God, being there for your family, and making sure your Children learn the importance of Life watching their Dad. In the end, that’s all it matters. Money can buy a lot of things but it cannot buy time. God’s Richly Bless You Randy.

Hey Randy, I fully support you not fishing NPFL as long as you don't fish tournaments that allow FFS. Many of us follow you in the battle against FFS and don't support tournaments that allow FFS. I think it would be incongruent for you to fish in FFS tournaments and support them while speaking about the evils of FFS. You have to pick a side and live by it or you cant be truly true to your fans and yourself. Thousands of us support you and have even sold our FFS units due to your words. It is only fair to us and yourself not to fish tournaments that allow FFS.

Randy you've been through it all with tournament fishing, enjoy the time with your family. Your reasoning for not fishing the NPFL circuit makes perfect sense to any reasonable person. The Livescope apologists and Milliken minions will look for any reason to criticize you.
@lastboomer.11 күн бұрын
It is so disappointing that tournament fishing just cannot provide a reasonable hope for the financial survival of anglers. This situation has probably caused the world to miss out on someone who may have proven to be the next KVD. Thousands of great anglers choose to never fish tournaments because they see the money pit ahead.
@edwardcowan701211 күн бұрын
Guys that don’t understand why you aren’t fishing a national tournament trail have problems never fished a national tournament trail. I fished most of the BASS Invitationals from 1991-96 while holding down a full time job. I only did 2 or 3 full seasons since I couldn’t always get the time off. I was in my 30’s and it was only 6 weeks and it was a lot. I fished the FLW Stren Series in 2007 which was a Regional AAA series and my primary sponsor was the construction company (One guess why that didn’t last, lol), that was fun. Fewer events, less travel and no financial issues. Overall I started by club fishing and have returned to club fishing. Cool hobby, not a great business.

Anyone who knew you before KZbin knows you have nothing to prove. Im 54 and you were my idol in the mid nineties. Why? Like you touched on in a previous video. I was really into the ringworm starting in 95. No angler I knew then would give any credo to what I was using then you won using my bait. I followed as much as was available at the time in Bassin and Bassmaster. What makes you great like or love…you’re always challenging thought. If you were not so outspoken and hated about FFS who else would? Family first and think about how much family fishing you get to look forward to but it goes by quick.

I watched you on tv growing up and I always respect how you fish like my father taught me . A lot of days of flipping cat tail edges for miles or speed flipping . Dad always used to tell me the story of when he watched you sink your boat to get under a bridge to catch fish on Kerr . We love the sport and glad there is an advocate on a large platform pushing his love for the sport and our lakes on to the general public we’ve had a big problem on the lake I grew up on in Panasoffkee, Florida with Eel grass and Hydrilla and it’s become such a problem that we can’t even really run our bass boats anymore. We used to fish a spring hole brush pile in the summertime that my dad put in that’s in 10 feet of water that eel grass is touching the top of the water It’s ridiculous The local government and FWC’s way of handling. It is to spray it with poisonous instead of coming in and harvesting it out funny how our local agencies are against us maybe because its because they are ran by huge developers, but I appreciate all the knowledge that you’re putting out that the common man does not see or understand.

If everyone is using livescope it's not cheating it's a level playing field. Cheating would be an unfair advantage one person has over another. Yes it's an extra cost of entry, but these tournaments already require you to own a fully kitted boat. Might as well just say anything other than bank fishing is cheating because it's easier to catch fish on a boat.

All your reasons, while they seem perfectly reasonable to you, come across as disingenuous and hypocritical because you expect others to take the hard road to, in your words "do the right thing" while you are perfectly happy to sit on the sideline and preach from your pulpit about what all the unwashed masses should be doing .... true leaders lead from the front, not simply snipe from the safety of the rear ... to affect actual change you need to get your hands dirty ... of course the other option is to simply tone down the offensive hyperbole and start focusing on what everyone knows is the actual problem ... hint - it's not technology 👽🦖
