I’m confident that the Willys would have rotted into the ground if you didn’t pull it out of those woods. I think it’s more important to save it and get it back on the road. Preserving the unique history of THIS jeep is a bonus :)

Frustrated? Yes. Disappointed? Yes. But in the end it's your Jeep. Just wish you would have used an early CJ for this. This 1941 is such a rare one. I got a running Go Devil for my 1944 MB from an old Hobart welder for 400 bucks.. All it needed was a valve job and some clean up. Good luck on the build, I will still watch.

I've watched to this point, but watching this extremely rare slat grill military vehicle being further modified is just too much. When you sell it eventually, I will watch the guy who restores it to original spec and does this old war horse justice.

It’s tough knowing what to do and not to do, but at the end of the day it’s your Jeep, and you’ve saved a 1941 Slat Grill

No judgement from me. 😃 I own a 1961 DJ-3A with wagon axles a 22r motor and a Toyota L43 four speed. It’s also a daily driver. I like your idea. Just saying 🤔👍

Sounds like a great engine/transmission combo!

Would love the opportunity to purchase any original items from the Jeep that you are not using.

The only thing I might not use is the transmission

Astonishing to see a rare ‘41 jeep being butchered. Why not do such a project with a cheap postwar CJ instead? I cannot understand.. besides emotions involved, this is a violation of history and capital. Sorry, had to ventilate my frustrations…
