She mentioned "AirBNB", but actually Japan has always had AirBNB-like little family ryokans that one can stay at. I often used them decades ago when I was young and traveling in Japan. The family would often rent out a room in their residence for hotel-like stays. Even though the stays were enjoyable, I didn't use them all the time because it always felt like I was a guest in someone's house so sometimes I preferred just staying at an inexpensive hotel where I didn't feel obligated to keep to certain hours when going out at night and returning.
@LionKimbro4 ай бұрын
There are a LOT of AirBNBs in Japan, where you rent the whole place, all to yourself, and what's crazy is they're often very cheap. There seems to be NO correlation between cost & value, when it comes to AirBNB in Japan.
