Very interesting! I have the 13 Pro (not the Max) and the S22 Ultra, and after using the Ultra since it's launch day ended up switching back to the iPhone. For me it was the issue you mentioned about the stutter and jankiness of the Ultra - I really couldn't take it anymore after awhile, and I noticed I was repeatedly eyeing the iPhone in the drawer. One day I took it out and couldn't believe how I'd taken the smooth and polished feel of the iPhone for granted. It's a shame, because I like the Ultra's screen and camera a lot more, but I'm starting to realize how important the software experience really is and I think Samsung took a step backwards this year compared to the S21 Ultra.

Same, I returned my S22 Ultra. It felt amazing at first, I could excuse the jankiness as its a new SOC but at the end of the day the phone felt more like a test device than a full fledged every day phone. I loved the cameras but once you get past the gimmick and see your battery drain fast, you cannot help but admire how well made the iPhone is. I exchanged my S22 Ultra for a iPhone 13 Pro Max and I love the battery its so nice!

Switched from a iPhone XR to the S10+, and switched back to the 13 Pro Max and I love my decision and stand by it. Fantastic phone, battery life is phenomenal and just the pure convenience of the iPhone was definitely missed.. glad I switched back. Here to stay🔥

Thing is, alot of reviews for the 22 series, are mostly in the states/Canada, where you get the Snapdragon chips. Here in the UK and Europe, we get the exynos chip, which is quite underwhelming. So the iPhones are probably gonna become more and more popular over here

I switched from an S22 Ultra to iPhone 13 Pro Max…The S22 Ultra was a phenomenal phone. I’ve been Note user ever since it’s inception. I’m getting ready to retire, so I don’t need all the beautiful features the S22 Ultra brings. As a first time iPhone user I am shocked over the simplicity of the iPhone and the seamless connectivity it has with the Apple Watch Series 7. Everything from Apple Pay, Apple TV, and Apple Wallet has been awesome. I’m truly impressed with Apple’s ecosystem. Both are great phones, but at this stage in my life, I’m all in with Apple.

Battery and apple watch are the reasons I liked the 13 pro max. But the display, multi-tasking(multi window), real desktop web pages, s-pen and mostly the camera. All pictures on the s22 with maybe the exception on 3x, look better than the I phone.

Switched from iphone 11 to S22 ultra, the only regret is the battery life, and I guess the batteries shouldn't be compared, the ultra provides such an amazing mind blowing display, dolby atmos speakers, well all I can say is I'm happy switching to a more feasible and entertaining phone, I can charge it multiple times no issues for me

Give it 6 months, you’ll be itching to get iOS back. I switched last year and LOVED my S21, but once all of the fun new features wore off, I missed the consistency of iOS. In my opinion of course, maybe you’ll love it for forever

The battery is great, and I can't be happier with my phone. The new iPhones just last for unbelievably long periods of time, it's crazy.

I agree 100% with you. With that being said I can't make the switch to iPhone. I just enjoy my customization, side loading, spen, the sharp edges of the screen, and the integration with Google WAY to much. I'll put up with charging on my way home or in the evening for 15-20 minutes to get threw the end of day. The glitching is annoying but I just see it as my S22U has to process a ton more features and the fact that it runs as well as it does is like magic to me.

I had an iPhone 7, upgraded to an S10, and I couldn't live with Android, so the next year I switched back over to iPhone, and I'm not looking back. I'm currently rocking an iPhone 13 Pro Max as well, and no Androids can even come close to the fluidity and polished feel of the iPhone IMO.

I’ve had Samsung flagship phones and just traded back my s22 Ultra for the 13 Pro Max. The s22 ultra does have an absolutely gorgeous display but I had issues with it getting extremely hot and it is no where as silky in operation as the iPhone. Also, the communication between the Ultra and the galaxy watch was glitchy. I will, for sure, miss the customization ability of android but the iPhone just works. I use my iPhone to keep myself organized and current and I love having Siri back. Apple products just work so smoothly together.

I returned my s22 ultra for an iphone 13 pro max 1 month ago for almost exactly the same reasons.. plus I don’t even use s pen so it’s just a waste of space for me S22 ultra literally froze on me while using google maps and that’s just unacceptable for such a high end phone to be having such optimization and freezing problems

@@dirtydirtsgt4751 actually almost every single android i had did lag or stutter before except the pixel 3 xl which i used 2 years ago.. but it’s not about that the phone is bad or anything it’s just that the apps are not always customized perfectly But freezing is unacceptable in any high end phone..yeah i haven’t experienced any freezing with my andriod phones either only the s22 ultra did freeze sometimes S22 ultra had a shutter lag which wasn’t fixed by the last software update i did It had a freezing home screen which was fixed with the update but till i sold it out it still had that laggy google maps Surprisingly s21 ultra doesn’t has such a problem i was using it and i still have it as a secondary phone..actually it is even better than s22 ultra when it comes to battery life and somehow it feels smoother and idk how..

If the new 14 Pro Max offers something that really blows my mind, then I can possibly change it for that model, but if not, I will still in love with my XS another year without any regrets...

My Monday to Friday phone is an iPhone 13 Pro Max. I use a company MacBook Pro for work everyday, Apple Watch, AirPods Pro and with this iPhone it all works flawlessly together. Friday night I put my sim card in a Samsung S20+ because I love the 6.7" 1440x3200 zero bezel screen for watching video. I love the customization of Android. Lawnchair2 launcher, Proton Icon Pack, split screen and more. But, the 5G, quick connectivity to say Spotify and some widgets are awful. Plus using an Android in the Apple Ecosystem is a huge monkey wrench. Could never use this S20+ as a daily. Maybe I need to sell it and buy a different Android device. The Note 10+ was the best Android phone I've owned by far. The iPhone 13 Pro Max can be boring if you're a phone nerd but it's the most solid device out there. Just does everything so well.

(In core areas that matters iphone is the clear winner to me ) *Iphone has better smoother and consistant animation throughout ui and more powerfull cpu and gpu future proof.. * better speakers * iphone still has over all better consistant camera and still the king in video recording HDR Dolby vision and ProRes, macro cam that can get even closer, better autofocous especially in low light.... * now face id is more seamless, no need to touch phone, no worry about glouse it just works seamless... * iphone has way better battery life .*more premium durable stainless steel built * iphone has better water resistance up to 6 m * better os support * ecosystem is lit.. * apps and games in ios is much more polished and optimized

Agree with most points but the S22 has its advantages too •Better selfie an zoom cameras •Better display •Faster charging •Spen (if you care about that) But the most important thing and the one that will condition the decision of buying either one of these is the OS, some people prefer a more stable and smoother OS while other want sideloading and more customization

It’s all about preference. Both phones are at the top for flagships. I switched to the S22U when it released and use my iPhone 12 Pro as my secondary and still use it daily. Primary reason I switched is lack of innovation on the iPhone design. iOS has the same UI since 2013, I believe. Battery performance doesn’t matter as I charge my phone throughout the day. Waiting to see what the 14 Pro will look like, hoping for some changes that stand out from the 13 and 12 series.

You may say it has the same UI (which ofc it doesn’t) but it’s more that Apple takes a evolutionary approach to software whereas Google/Samsung seem to reinvent the wheel every few years. It’s part of the reason why Apple tends to come up with stuff and stick with it whilst Google is infamous for ditching stuff or revamping continually, tho Samsungs not quite as bad. Personally, I’ll take a more polished evolutionary experience over an ‘innovative’ revolutionary one any day. That also doesn’t make Apple less innovative, it’s just a different approach and results in innovations beyond just gimmicky stuff for tech nerds. Imo ofc haha, each to his own

@@MoejiiOsmanTV Firstly, no one’s stealing anything. It’s perfectly reasonable for companies in tech or otherwise, to implement things that are widespread in competition. Apple arguably does the least, hence the complaining about features missing that are everywhere else. Widgets are not a Samsung thing, they’re everywhere and Apple has put their own spin on it as always. They’ve also been on iOS and macOS for ages. Android fanboys love to claim everything as ‘stolen’ 😂 ‘Notification tray’ lol. It’s ridiculous. Samsung and everyone else has absolutely ‘stolen’ things from Apples UI (and loads besides). You just have to look at how Samsungs software has evolved to see the iOS influences everywhere. Also gestures ring a bell? Samsung takes from Apple, Apple takes from Samsung. If you disagree, then you’re just being blind, obtuse or a fanboy. Maybe all 3 :)

I also just made my switch from the S22 Ultra back to the iPhone 13 Pro Max. 100% agree about the random stutters, the battery life is nowhere near what the 13 Pro Max offers, and at times I felt like I was constantly thinking/ monitoring the S22 Ultra battery throughout the day. For some reason I kept getting notification delays, some notifications would take 1-2 minutes to show up on the S22 Ultra, while others took 30+ minutes to come through, this was after all the latest updates. Also the curved sides was a no no for me, I tried the normal S22 and I actually liked the flat display way more.

Very nice comparison video ... Using both s22 ultra and 13 pro max.. Samsung can't even come near to iPhone when it comes to battery life , ios, focus mode , night photography, ease of focusing in portrait mode, crystal clear earpiece , ecosystem...video and most important for me is Face I'd...fingerprint scanner many of the times doesn't work properly.. so many advantages over zooming and s pen...using my iPhone 13 pro max as a daily driver and s22 ultra as a secondary phone...

I love the display and cameras on the s22 ultra. You are right, the battery life isn't the greatest, the fast chargers do come in handy though. Also one thing I like about the s22 ultra is Phone Link to Windows PC's. You can send texts from the PC, this feature along with everything else was not available with the iphone.

There's way too many features to count (Inclouding link to pc) and multiscreen etc that make Samsung superior but yes takes up battery but mine still last a whole day (Note 20 ultra) , it's like a mini computer where as iPhone is a smartphone that's it in layman's terms

You are so right. I bought the S20 Ultra in 2020. And running it on 1440p or 120hz the performance is terrible and the phone always is very warm. I have to run it at 720p with 60hz to get decent battery life. Planning to switch to the 14 pro max. I really want that reliability and stability.

I think Samsung should experiment with making two options for the s23 the regular s23 or the curved s23 and so on and I think that would make it better and if it doesn’t work then they could just discontinue it

My ifs I’ll stay with my 13 if: If iPhone 14 still has lightning port I’ll definitely upgrade to iPhone 14 if: USB-C 3.2 and above for data transfer. Punch hole instead of notch. 10x optical zoom $999 or less Waiting for official apple event. Leaks are just cringey to me.

I switched from the Note 20 Ultra to the 13 Pro Max. The battery life was not great on the Note 20U. The 13 Pro Max is insane, and I got it because during the pandemic shutdown my phone usage went way up.

I should say that I’ve switched back and forth from Samsung to iPhone… And I finally have stuck with the iPhone 13 Pro Max. I completely agree with all you were talking about in the video. Nowadays, nobody would choose an iPhone for the features within it, but for the experience and the UI. I just love that notch (I know, crazy! But I’ve come to love it… just me?), that home bar and that smooth feel switching between apps… Loved the video! 🫶🏽

I really love my s22 ultra more than my pro max, but the battery life concern is undeniable especially in standby mode. Android phone makers really need to: 1. address their battery/OS optimization, or 2. incorporate their own version of Magsafe, preferably both.

I can’t stand the curved edge screens either mate , had 3 of them and vowed to never have another. I love the pro max More utilitarian case design which is also sturdier without any doubt and less slippery. I actually liked the old galaxy notes (note9 back), latest galaxy’s are a disappointment imo.

After months of observation and watching bunch of reviews I ended up with S22U. And I am very happy with my decision. There are plenty of things you can do with S22U than iPhone13 pro max. We always change and upgrade phones every year why not choose the one you can use its full potential of so called SMARTPHONES than a fancy and classy phone like iPhones where it has a very limited features. Ps. Sorry for my english lol!😅

As I said in another of your videos about the S22U : in the dislplay settings (navigation bar) you can activate "block gestures with S Pen" which avoids making the back gesture accidentally on the edges of the screen 😉

Argh, I sold my 13PM and got the Galaxy 22+ just because the iPhone doesn't handle all app messages and notifications to my Garmin Tactix properly. Sad and I won't go back even though i miss the 13PM..wonder if Apple will ever losen it's grip on non apple messaging and notifications?

The only thing the 13 pro max seems to do better than the s22 ultra is battery. Every time iPhone users only brags about battery life. The iPhone does a lot less than the s22 ultra so I'd expect it to have better batter life..

@Nick Ackerman Android guy since 2011. I am rocking a 13 Pro Max this year. I never thought I would see the day but it is smooth and efficient and simple. Another bonus a lot of people dont think of is that iPhones (and Apple products in general) Hold value longer by far than any Android. Those things and the fact that Samsung did away with sd card support on ALL their phones now and the starting storage shrank after the Note 10+ has made me jump ship. Shame.

Facts cowboy I switched to only thing I could say is battery life but I charge my phone every night and have chargers everywhere that's usb c. I had a little of studders at first but they got fix with a update people forgetting the phone been out less time than iPhone. iPhone was way more updates then the s22 ultra had people are miss judging the phone to fast my iPhone had issues but it got fixed with updates.

Be careful with the pixel. The Bluetooth issues are hardware related. No update they sent fixed my issues. The battery drain with 5g turn on causes you to charge your phone 2-3 times/day. Still has minor bugs and glitches as well. FYI. I have the regular pixel 6. The updates fixed my fingerprint scanner though.

U kno a bias apple. Reviewer wouldn't do his homework he didn't even do the display in 120ghz but instead kept it at 60hgz which is why it was smooth if it was on 120ghz it would not be even a contest.. Samsungs super AMOLED display at 120ghz is Smoother then the iPhone and I think he did that on purpose to show iphone being Smoother.

However, for one to think that Samsung did not think the S-pen drawing at the edge could cause accidental swipe back and did not create a setting to prevent that is pretty ridiculous.

The iPhone ecosystem is considered Smoother bcuz it's basic on features and doesn't pack as many intensive tasks as Samsung which doesn't take up as much ram as features on Samsung which are super stacked... and he clearly didn't have the device on 120hgz but 60hgz which is why it wasn't smooth in this video. @@MoejiiOsmanTV 1. it's Hz, not hgz. 2. iOS has always been smoother than Android. Even with 120Hz. 3. that is just NOT how RAM and the system works. Just because you have a trillion not thought-out features doesn't mean it needs more RAM. Android is just not the same as iOS. And iOS is simply in general more RAM efficient. That's why even Stock Android - which has barely even as many features as iOS - still needs more RAM to keep up the same amount of apps in the background as iOS. And iOS also has just in fact better and smoother animations than Android. Some Chinese manufacturers try to copy them but it doesn't match. And those Animations on Android don't get smoother even with like 1000Hz.

For me android is better than iOS but using both the 13PM stays in my pocket I never have to worry about the battery even though my batter health is at 98% it does drain a bit more in standby but it’s the first phone I’ve never had to worry about being close to a charger and can leave my house with it on under 80% charge and still get through my day

Yes its battery may last because most features on Samsung aren’t live features. Animations are poor, isn’t smooth, OS is chunky, not a secured OS. iPhones consume too much battery because of its live features such as real-time health dictation. Live photo, etc. these features aren’t there on Samsung. However, these phones are incomparable iPhone is pretty ahead of Samsung

Samsung has atleast 20 features not available on iPhone (link to pc, multiscreen , s pen, auto Shazam from notification tray when a song u hear comes on and can quickly grab the title, better widgets that Apple copied from Samsung so obviously Samsung woukd dominate in that category, quickshare, Dolby for sound quality (iphon12 and 13 notorious for horrible speaker quality compared to the note 20 ultra even, call and text on other devices connected to ur email thru wifi I coukd go on and on... Everybody that knows review videos on phones will always hear one phrase "Samsung packs tons of features I wish were on iPhone" multiscreen being the big one and a pen

I also want to say the lag or choppiness you experience on the 22 ultra I haven't experienced at all but I have the regular S22, not the ultra. On the other hand your Iphone definitely looks smoother regardless. My s22 is super smooth but comparing both by looking at your video I can definitely see how much more smooth the iphone is. I used an iphone back in 2009-2013.

Just change from S9+ to XS and 3 things I missed is AOD, charging time and super amoled. Other than that iPhone win a lot from performance, software optimization and update. Like you said that I like curved panel until some moment it feels annoying.

I like the iPhone better than the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra not only because of the battery life, camera, speed, etc. It also looks nicer than the S22 Ultra. I prefer the curved edges on the iPhone more compared to the square edges on the S22 Ultra. Samsung isn’t bad though.
