Why I’m Selling My Spyderco Smock

The choil should have absolutely been made a semi circle like on the original smock custom so you can comfortably put your index finger there. I took a dremel to mine the second day I had it and made mine quite usable. No complaints now. Love it.

The spydeerco is a much better looking knife than the fugly yet good benchmade. The Manix is a great knife, better than both shown, but you will miss the smock.

I recently picked up another one and I like it more with titanium scales and the second detent ball removed.

I hope you enjoy it! This series of videos wasn’t meant to talk people out of buying knives. It was more to let people know my thought process on why I don’t keep certain knives in my permanent collection since the information might be useful when buying. The Smock was actually a nice knife overall; it just didn’t fit my carry and use philosophy enough.

Benchmade 940-1 is my all time favorite EDC production made knife.

It’s one of mine as well but I have to admit I like the Smoky Moutan Knifeworks Exclusive of the 940 just a little bit more. If you haven’t seen it, you should check it out.

I sure wish they would do a rerelease or rerun of that smkw exclusive 940, I would bet they would sell out or be hard to keep in stock!!!!!! I would love one!!!! I think that would possibly be my favorite benchmade!

Question ; Has that blade ever come open inside your pocket ?? It looks like that button lock is really easy to push open .... 👍🖖

No. There is an extra detent to prevent that from happening. However, even if you remove it (which I have on my newer one) it still doesn’t come open.

@@TripleEEDC Thanks for the quick response 👍 I've had a button lock open in my pocket before without me knowing and I jammed my hand in my pocket looking for my pencil and if wasn't a pretty site , especially because i keep my blades razor sharp , I'm cringing just thinking about it ....👍🖖

Yeah. It’s a good deal, although smooth g10 isn’t my personal preference. Still, it’s a great knife to buy if you plan to get micarta replacement scales. I even saw some titanium scales that might be interesting.
