Why I Moved Out of Los Angeles | Left California

Los Angeles has been done for quite a few years. I was there three decades, and left in 2017. Its unsustainable there. Too many cons. Too overrun.

I was there 20 years. Entertainment and production field. Was able to start a company that did both things. End of 2017 I finally realized I was getting taxed to death (realized it before then but it finally stuck). Was able to sell my business to a sister company I worked with, and ✌️ out. I kid you not, I am beyond glad I left. I loved me some LA while I was there, but visiting last year only gave me the reassurance that following my gut, was the right move. I own multiple properties now in Texas, and have an actual retirement and savings. Not to mention a beautiful family

@UnbelievablyAwesome1215 Good for you!!! I worked in Beverly Hills before retiring. Beverly Hills is a vacant ghost town now, with sooooo many shut down businesses. Lease signs are EVERYWHERE. No one has money for the high rents, leases and mortgages anymore. All my favorite haunts and movie theaters are long gone. Business has changed for the worst. Newsome and other politicians ran a once beautiful state into the ground. It's astounding to see; I don't miss California. It will take decades to revive a dead place, again. I sensed nothing would be "normal" post pandemic, yet not to THIS extent. We are fortunate to have escaped. Homes are falling apart in Rancho Palos Verdes and Rolling Hills Estates and/or power has been shut off to homes. 💔 💔 Too, too much...
