Hi Justine, I do admire your honest to goodness assessment of Philipine Culture and all that. And am sure it's really coming from your experiences even for just a short time. Philipines is not a land of milk and honey, it has all its negatives just like any other Country. I'm glad and thankful you easily adapted to its environs. Good luck on your new found home. NOW, am a subscriber, before am just a viewer. Give my regards to your Hot and Sexy Pinay (slang for Pilipina) Girlfriend. Be safe and Godspeed.

100 % agree with you Justin. I told myself as soon as I get back which I’m back now that I will accept the 🇵🇭 for what it is. There are pros n cons just like living in other countries. All I can say is I can’t afford living in the 🇺🇸 anymore. Everything is so expensive!

I totally agree with you, that it's extremely expensive living here in the US, not worth living, cause the pay goes to the bills, earning dollars but spending dollars, unlike in the Philippines, that you still have a lot for savings and enjoyment, after bills are paid, especially when dollars are exchanged to peso...🇵🇭

Do more research outside of youtube. I don’t want to take anything against what Justin is saying here but do your due diligence. Two of my relatives went back to the states; money run out fast there. They are very careful with their money but it’s just different when you’re coming from the states.
@markymartin6037
@markymartin6037 Жыл бұрын
@@denniszenanywhere before I make a comment inhave some question to Ask if you Dont mind?. The first one you mention that money run fast in the PH so that is why your relatives went back to the states?. Did you Ask them why they run out of money that fast in the PH maybe they have a lavish lifestyle,living in a suburb subdivision. Maybe they lived in a luxuriously high Class condo such as BGC(one of the place in Manila with a high/expensive place to live in),or maybe around Makati City-one place also in Manila with very high end seansard of living. Or maybe your relatives didn’t used there money wisely. Im not defending Justine here in the first place he’s point is he’s comfortable living in the PH compared to the US, and its up to foreigners if they will stay for Good or not. Many ex pat and Majority of rerired foreigners specially Americans chose to stay for Good in the PH because as what Justine said, Filipinos are the Most warm/hospitable Can speak or communicate/understand the english language compared to other Asian countries,and Most specially as what foreigners alsways saying very cheap services. So I am wondering why your relatives run out of money so they went back again in the US. Again for the last words “ use your hard earned money wisely” and it also depends 🎉o foreigners where they want to retire either in south east Asia or other european countries ok.

I remember also that we know all our neighbours and neighborhoods. We invite people in our house whether we have much food or not but still willing to share with neighbours, friends even people we just met. I'm sure when you go to the province you'll experience it. If you happen to go any place in greater Manila or provinces and they're celebrating a town Fiesta or some occasions like birthday and you pass by that house and they saw you... you'll be invited to join and eat they won't take no for answers. They will insist! This coming holiday season we cooked so many foods and we will not eat (well not all can wait) until midnight for the family to eat. I hope you'll be invited by your gf family or if you have filipino friends with family to experience what we call in media noche or noche buena. Exactly 12 midnight in December 24 and again midnight December 31 the whole family will sit and eat together. In New Year 's eve midnight we have fireworks or sparklers and many more that people will lights up outside the street to welcome the New Year 😀 the government banned it but some people still do it because it's part of celebrations too 🍾 we literally celebrate New Year's Eve with a bang!! NO WEAPON PLEASE! 🤣🤣🤣we make loud noise using our pats and pans!🤣🤣🤣 all houses should have pancit ( noodles) for long life and a lot of money in ALL your POCKETS and some spreads the money all over house 🏘 😀 for prosperity ! Sorry, my comment are always long 🙂 I'm just happy that you're one of the many who chose our country to stay for good 👍 😊 our country is not perfect but you'll learn how to chill, have a lot of patience and appreciation of life🥰😊😊

I agree with you Justin I live in a province area that's pretty boring not much to see or do or even go to outside my house and it's even worse when I get my running water cut off or brownouts happen but overall the Philippines is really laid back peaceful and safe for the most part like you said and I enjoy Shopping on Lazada and Shopee a lot LOL the COD option is so convenient you can actually save money with online shopping here.

Definitely on point. I'm a Filipino and here are some thoughts I can share for my foreign friends: 1. Not all good things exist forever. But the timing and decision to get a Filipina girlfriend is the best decision you can make. The earlier the better. The bad news is, the American culture is slowly creeping inside my fellow Filipino people, especially for women. 2. Filipino's attitude is always shy and knows distance. We're not uesd to yell and get angry in front of strangers because we have this concept of "kahihiyan," or a mix of embarrassment and disgraceful attitude. And it impacts us a lot including men. 3. Cost of living is cheap, but that depends on what lifestyle do you wanna live. A 40 grand here will provide you land with title, house, water, and electricity. If you want to be self sufficient and maintain your daily needs, you can start a business here like poultry and agriculture, or sweets and desserts. Or whatever you can provide. 4. You can see palm trees and beaches everywhere. No winter. Only typhoons. 5. Karaoke, food vendors, stores, restaurants. 6. Infrastructures being build left and right. Especially in Pampanga and Subic. 7. Top places I can recommend for starters (assorted): Manila, Palawan, Cebu, Davao, Mandaue, Dumaguete.

Hello Justin I am very proud of your honest testament of the Philippines and about the Filipinos. I can testify of that because I was born in the province and raised in Baguio City. My sisters and some cousins were married outside our race. Filipina women will give you so much TLC as far as woman of your dream to be with. I am sure they will love you more not just because of your good look but your inspirational intentions and interests of a lifestyle.

To sum it up: you have prioritized your mental wellness by being there. Mental Health comes first. Being there you're self fulfilled, physically, spiritually, mentally. Here in US it's so mentally draining. We're just like zombies. We only exist to work and pay taxes. It's so depressing. We haven't gone on vacation in years. There's no real social interaction unless it's business just hi hello to your stranger neighbors for 30+ yrs. The tight knit community here is nada zero zilch. You're so lucky living in my country. Thank you for appreciating my homeland. Pls take care of it and it will take care of you.

Sadly, there are many Philippine bashers out there, some of them, just because they happened to be born in developed countries (yet didn't really directly contribute to bringing their country into its developed state but were just born there) talk as if they are the superior ones and can freely criticize developing countries like ours. Yes, there's still lots of poverty here and no one is denying that. But it's the vloggers choice if they want to focus on the positives and not the negatives which every country has. Sometimes, i am tempted to think it's just really envy, seeing that our country has big GDP growth, while theirs are actually going into recession with homelessness now a major problem. If their "first world" government really has the capacity to address such issues, then why is it that the problem is actually growing. So i hope they just stop bashing our country when their own country has plenty of issues of its own.

As an American that has traveled to The PH 12 time in the past 22 years, I would like to see how you feel after a year. My wife is from Cebu and has family in both Cebu and Manila. They had a very difficult time during the past 3 years with the 2 year Covid-19 lock-down and Typhoon Odette. They had no power, little food, and 4 hour gas lines after that typhoon but have lived through many. I love coming to The PH but understand all so well the traffic, noise, 5 AM rooster wake up calls, waiting in line, out of stock, lack of medication, and other problems one may face everyday. True the people are friendly and prices lower but after a while I am glad to return home and plan my next trip back. I live in Florida so no shortage of good beaches or great weather. Best of luck.🙂

Thank you for making the right choice! Contraire to what the international news depicts of what's happening in the Philippines or what Philippines is like - Living here is much more easier, economical, peaceful and happier! Been around the world for 23 years due to the nature of my work, living 2-4 years from one country to another from Florida, Cheshire, Ecuador, Spain, Cambodia, Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore -- I can proudly say that here in the Philippines is where I found peace and prosperity. BTW I am living now in Oc. Mindoro, bought a land for farming and now introducing aqua culture to the small community. Bought a land in Davao to start a small beach resort and invested on condominium units in Pasay to pay off all my expenses on those projects I have started. You will find it incredibly easy for us foreigners to invest and register a legal business here in the Philippines for such a small capital and less paper works. You cannot do that especially in the US and EU countries. Some Filipinos do not appreciate that, but coming from a country who's supposed to be Land of the Free BUT where everything is a No-No, everything is strangling your neck, and even starting a hotdog stand costs you a fortune! Philippines is much better in every aspect.

Philippines does not have an exact Filipino word for "efficient" (based on your context). Thus, we do not really strive for that, except in the cities, where people calls it "efficient". It's annoying having to deal with inefficiency in PH, but it may also be positive. For instance, if some evil forces wants to destroy Filipinos with their poison, hospitable & accommodating Filipinos are mostly inefficient in implementing their measures. Thus, many will be protected from those poisons.

I lived in the Philippines for two full years and worked there as well. I have now been married to a Filipina for ten years and I can speak Tagalog. I like that you are pointing out the positives and for the most part what you said is true. But Manila is NOT nice or clean. Makati and Global City are nice as is Greenbelt malls. But the Ermita area which is close to where the American Embassy is, is dirty and smells. The traffic in all the the Metro Minila area (including Makati and Global City) SUCKS! Trying to get a Grab or Raxi around 4pm is insane! The people are nice. But what you will come to learn is that many are that way because YOU are a rich foreigner and they want your money. Talking about riding the light rail that is pick pocket City on that thing. So, be careful by hiding your money and ID in your shorts. I know you have only been there two months and not been to very many places. I was like you when I went my first time. Over the next two years you will learn a lot. Especially if you get out of that "high standard of living" area you are in and go live with the locals the way they do. No AC and no hot water. Oh and talk about how almost no bus station bathroom has paper. I had to carry a half roll of toilet paper everywhere I went. Everything is dirty so I kept hand sanitizer with me as well. Of course you don't know any of this because you are stay in the millionaires area of town.
