I got a Blue 360E for $25 from someone on facebook, they said controllers wouldnt sync to it and sold it as parts.. I opened it up and there was a ribbon cable very loose and the clip was broken, all I did was tape it in there with some electrical tape and it works 100% :D Im so hype to have a 360 again. Gonna be Skyrimming and Left 4 Dead'ing for a long long time

I prefer the Xbox 360 S because it has 3 USB ports compared to 2 in the back. I also like that it has the Digital A/V out and Optical Audio Out as well. More connectivity options. But still a great buy! Congrats on your new console.

Honestly a very similar reason why I purchased a x360 s in 2015. Im mainly a PC gamer but wanted to play some games that never came to pc, also had two 360 pads for pc so just needed the console. Halos, gears of wars, read dead redemption and some exclusive og Xbox games as well as a dvd player in those rare times. It's a good addition to the living room and still use it today. Also a late s model uses the same internals as an e model and even though I prefer the cleanliness of this model, I went with an s due to the inclusion of the spdif output which I needed.

Its a nice console and looks really clean. I've just acquired an E model and its much quieter than my slim. Playing something like Split Second and you can really hear the difference. My slim sounds like the fan is giving all she gots.

I've had an Xbox 360 S for years now, never got a red ring. Actually, the only console I've ever gotten that was defective or malfunctioned was my Xbox Series X. Got it before my Birthday in November 2022, and it suddenly stopped working in October 2023. Pretty sure the power supply was bad or something. But it's crazy how people always talk about how they had a Xbox 360 that red ringed, but I've had the same Xbox 360 that's likely over 7 years old and it works good as new. Only issues I've had is with wireless Internet connections on it. I think the S and E models have a much lower chance of a Red Ring than the original, you must be one really unlucky guy. At least they're cheap though! I find many Xbox 360's for sale usually between $150 - $200.

Yes it now runs with no problem, but their is a bit of story behind it. It red ringed on me 7 times, but letting it sit for 6 years under a table fixed it. Now I only get one red light errors, the only two I’ve encountered since then are E68 and E69, both are easy to fix.

Found one for $13 at my local thrift store. Bought a black controller from the same place everything synced fine, it looks awesome and it turns out the $7 controller I bought was modded to have a blue led. I’m pretty happy with it not to mention someone donated a whole bunch of games there as well and for $3 each I bought borderlands, Fallout New Vegas, dark souls 2, elder scrolls, elder scrolls oblivion, etc, all in GREAT condition and with the original casings and manuals.

I bought a brand new Xbox 360 E, years ago. Still have it, still as clean as it's first day, like brand new. I don't play story games on that anymore, I use it as arcade machine. I bought a Pro fighting stick, which is awesome, and I play Street Fighter 2 HD & SF4 & SF x Tekken, Virtua Fighter 5, Tekken Tag 2, Final Fight, and beautiful King of Fighters 13, that game, Final Fight and SF 2 HD are my favs.

My OG White 360 is barely hanging on to it's life. I am one the rare ppl in this world to have never got the RROD from an OG 360 but it's loud AF. It's practically stripped of all the white plastics and you down to it's bare bone which can see the circuitry/motherboard. The E Model is looking good now lol

I still have my OG 360 with a 20 gig hd and the white disk tray(literally the first model) and it still works, the rrod happened to about 50% of the OG 360's . I keep mine in a shelf with a glass door on it and it hasnt discolored yet. Ive gone through like 3 controllers though lol

I don’t think you’ll have any issues with a 360 E, it’s engineered so much better and very quiet and efficient. I do own a ps3 as well, either way I don’t have any problems so far. Just stay away from the Older launch models.

Domineering Channel Im pretty late and im sure you made your decision but just in case you havent or if anyone else ends up reading this , go for the 360 . I personally grew up on playstation , never owned an xbox until now . Online is simply unplayable in 2019 for ps3 too many hackers/modders . You have your occasional modded lobbies on 360 but its much less frequent .

The red ring is always a possibility due to manufacturing defects or not caring for the unit properly. However the S and E versions are huge improvements in design to refine and minimize these issues.

The chances of the red ring appearing is significantly less, it's mainly because I ask store employees and they tell me that it's no longer an issue, but then watching videos online, shows that it's still possible to get the red ring *or dot* of death.

I’d say it’s a great time! I have been a PlayStation guy my whole life, I got a Xbox one s simply for a 4K blue ray player. But the exclusives are good and more importantly backwards compatibility! So I wanted to expand my library more and got the 360 so I have more games to access and more backward compatibility with original Xbox games. It’s effin great! 👍

I made a similar mistake, I purchased a brand New Wii U at full price back in 2015 I think. I still have it and barely use it, but I do like that I have access to the original Wii game library and Wii U when I need it.

You can't put any hard drive in there, it has to be the hard drive made for it from Microsoft.
