Here's the next video in the SCREW CHEMICALS series...! If you missed the first video I shared why I Quit Testosterone Therapy (after 10 years) and not looking back. Here's the link: • Why I Quit Testosteron...
Today I share why I quit caffeine (in June 2023) in my pursuit to live a life from more calm, sustained and natural energy vs frantic energy and adrenaline.
It took hitting rock bottom to even consider the removal of this chemical and I hope you watch the entire video to hear my story.
I look forward to hearing from you in the comments. 🔥

Cut caffeine about 7 weeks ago, holy fucking hell. Worst time of my life. Severe anxiety, panic attacks, hangover like mornings, headaches, foggy brain, horrible intrusive thoughts, no appetite, no sex drive, you could not control any thought. Withdrawals are real af. But around week 3-4, everything kinda went back to normal. Apparently caffeine fucks up your adenosine receptors and your adrenals. Shit gives a false flight or fight which is where the energy can emanate from. But now its clear head, calm, food gives me energy and its steady throughout the day unlike the roller coaster ride of coffee and all that. Sex drive stronger than ever, but the best thing is my sleep is soo much better. Anyway, just thought id share a lil story. Anyone going through it, it gets better you just need time. And whatever bs you’re thinking and feeling isnt you, its just imbalances due to your chemistry realigning back normal.

Good story man. I needed that. I’m on week 3 and still not feeling myself at all. And I keep asking myself: “Is this what normal on no drugs feels like?” If so, I don’t want to feel like this. I hope my brain readjusts like yours did. Felt like caffeine helped with my depression.

most people dont understand that when youre on a drug like caffeine youre not fully there in the moment. the way you experience and see your life is distorted, theres a caffeine filter on your vision and u miss the fine details of every moment. once you quit it feels like youve just sobered up from being drunk on caffeine. this guy couldve made more money off caffeine cause your mind is super clear and powerful. caffeine makes you weak.

Agree, its like when you're on caffeine how you feel, feels "normal" and you get used to this. I only drink 1-2 cups a day, sometimes 3, but I am very sensitive to it and have often been off it for a couple of days or so but inexplicable going back onto it. I know now, it does alter your view of things yet we don't seem to notice that. We are not there in the moment, as you say. It definitely is a drug.

Hey Vince, I did the same thing. For me, the first 4 weeks were torture (and people say this stuff is good for you?)...and then very slowly every other week got easier. I no longer drink or eat anything with caffeine in it. Yep, no more chocolate. Only difficulty giving up is the social aspect. EVERYONE I KNOW drinks coffee etc.. My go to drink at Cafe's is usually a peppermint tea or smoothy with protein powder. At home, I am loving rooibos tea, love it! Keep going with it, don't give up and don't listen to the little voice that will say "hey, you've been good, you can have just one cup...) Don't do it! You'll end up back where you started.... I've been there! Regards from Australia.

The book "Caffeine Blues" is a real eye opener. I quit because of sleep issues. It takes awhile to turn that around especially because that is ultimately connected to adrenaline overload and things other than caffeine cause that, but it definitely helps! Excess adrenaline and cortisol from caffeine, sugar and stress are the big issues for all health problems. Quitting caffeine, sugar and other foods that over stimulate the adrenals and blood sugar spikes, which also stimulate adrenaline release, is so important along with addressing unresolved emotional trauma, learning to regulate our emotional responses, etc. Also eating soluble fiber super important for helping excess hormones come out of our GI tract-soluble fiber is the only thing that binds the hormones that the liver secretes for disposal. If we aren't eating soluble fiber at regular intervals throughout the day, every day, those hormones will be recycled and are still physiologically active, which causes overload. The best sources of soluble fiber are legumes-beans, peas, lentils-and psyllium husk. Thanks for sharing this topic, really under acknowledged, especially in the U.S.! Blessings!

I don't comment much but I just have to say you have described my "get well plan" , that I have just started down to a tee. Lose the coffee , deal with my past trauma's and get regulated , and get on the beans and legumes. Hope to be a new fellow this time next year.

Oh my gosh. I am reading super gut by Dr. William Davies and it is about the mucus. Also in our bodies the sibo and the sifo and how we have it in our own bodies. I have to pick up this book. You just mentioned caffeine blues. More to learn about the body. Had surgery on Thursday so haven't had coffee since and I sleep better already. I only had a cup of instant a day but it grinded me up so my adrenals were probably overloaded. Stimulants are bad

Thank you for sharing your experience with drinking coffee and quitting it. I had not realized how coffee was robbing me of energy and vitality. This was as a consequence of constant and persistent IBS-D. I drank coffee with 100% cream and no sugar/sweetener in the morning and I drank a lot. I drank 3 to 5 cups in the span of 2 to 3 hours in the morning, on an empty stomach. I lived in the bathroom as it aggravated how sensitive my gut is. But just a couple of weeks ago I came to the conclusion that coffee had to be the culprit of my unresolved IBS, and I quit coffee cold turkey. Like it is often said, I had 3 to 4 days of massive headaches and extremely low energy and soreness all over my body. My concentration was gone and productivity went way down to nothing. But having overcome those initial days and reactions, the last few days into the second week of no coffee drinking, I have felt so much better. Trips to the bathroom are normal. No more stomach upsets, reflux or poor sleep due to indigestion. I'm sleeping better, more soundly, more recuperative. Have experienced waking up alert, refreshed and ready to go the last few days. Good energy level throughout the day and accomplishing daily tasks. Even though many say that there are some benefits to drinking coffee, I'd rather not go back to it, and I will try to get health benefits the natural way through clean and non-processed foods, exercise, and the right priorities in the day: the Lord God and His Word, family and other things as they come. :)

I'm on day 49 of no caffeine. Suffered from anxiety, sleep, and stomach problems for most of my life. These issues have begun to get much better, which is amazing. I feel so much more relaxed and calm these days. I feel more focused and present. The only drawback is my loss of libido. I understand this can happen because my brain is doing a hard reset. I'm hoping it will resolve my sex drive after 3 months. It takes time. Quitting caffeine was way harder than quitting nicotine. Not even close.

Thank you for shedding light on this. This was an amazing video. Many women don't realize that caffeine also has adverse effects when you have PMDD or endometriosis. It exacerbates those symptoms, especially with pmdd, where your mood can get out of control. Once I quit caffeine, my whole world changed. It was as if a veil had been lifted from my eyes as well as my mind. I often wonder if the labs who perform these positive studies on caffeine are actually paid by those who have big money in caffeine and coffee.

635 days with no caffeine. Very hard, I was very addicted. Took me about 6 months to get my energy back to normal. What really helped was when I started with light exercise in the morning outside. Morning light and moving changed everything. I wish I had tried that earlier. I was driving 2 months ago and was very tired. I had my first coffee since I quit, and it honestly tasted horrible. My sleep is better, my mornings are better, and falling asleep is better. Yeah, and 691 days ago I quit alcohol as well 🫡😀 Coffee was by far the hardest for me to quit. With alcohol I only felt the positive impact (except the reactions from my friends and ex wife)

Recently Found out that I had heart issues and palpitations. I always thought that coffee gave me the energy to blast through the day when things got tough.. Little did I know was that it made me palpitate which was a mental disruptor. Unfortunately caffeine is used everywhere in coffee tea and coke.. Being conscious to avoid them now for one week I feel so much more mental clarity due to less palpitations. I'm not a coffee addict per se, although I've had times where I abused coffee. It's so much better to just get the proper early sleep and let the body decide when it's had enough sleep.

If you can be in control of your self esteem by living disciplined you'll not be disappointed when people are not so enthused about you.

About a month ago I went to a manual therapist for some muscle work and I found out I am never relaxed at all. Always tense. But after that I had some stomach troubles and had to change my diet. No more coffee too. And guess what? Now I know why I was never relaxed. 🎉

Started drinking coffee in my mid 30’s. I’m 64 now and tried to quit cold turkey several times during that time but couldn’t make it past the 3 week mark due to migraines. Decaf and other coffee substitutes (mushroom blended stuff) never worked so cold turkey is the only method that motivates me. I did sleep better and was less anxious during the day but it’s hard to get the monkey off my back. I’m at day one again today due to watching your video and reading the comments. Thanks for the help.

Contra weaning off of caffeine is that you go through withdrawal symptoms each day. So you start your day with coffee. High on energy and super motivated and then you crash with anxiety because you do not drink another one just because you are weaning off. So it is hard. There is basically no other option than to go cold turkey to get the personality back that is you.

I am quitting again tomorrow for the 10th time. Ugh. I have to pee so often can’t sleep. Annoyed easily, have gastritis, and it doesn’t give me energy anymore. I literally need caffeine to do everything, clean my house and daily tasks. And it’s a hit and miss here lately. I will take a five hour energy and it will make me tired or a cup of coffee and I will get sleepy. It sucks. Never know what it’s actually going to do. In the mornings when I don’t have it I feel lost. It is seriously time to get off of this stuff that I am so dependent and attached to. I would love to spring out a bed and drink water in the mornings and have energy to get through my days and do my housework and take care of my kids and husband. I really don’t want to go to decaf or switch to a Tea or anything. What do you drink in the mornings? Do you replace your coffee with anything?

Same here more than 10 times try to stop sometimes I can stop 1 day or 2 But on 3th or 4th day I drink again coffee. I wanna stop completely caffeine out of my life because I have more problems with it than positive.Tomorrow I Will stop and do everything to stay out of Every form of caffeine, it is really, A drug. When I stop 1 or 2 days I already have better sleep and ofcourse headache. But I still keep crappling coffee after 2/3/4 days. I Will be so happy when I Fully off caffeine . Its more difficult for me to stop coffee or caffeine then when i stopped with alcohol 3years Ago. But I Will overwin the caffeine addiction. Good luck every one with stopping caffeine. You are much more better off with it for sure. Thx for the video it motivates me to keep Trying to stop with this drug. Cheers

I never understood coffee/alcohol drinkers. I got nothing against it. You are allowed to like what you like. But a lot of people's personalities are based on it. You are not an adult without it. 10:34 Im a big believer in progress and production, but not at the expense of my joy.

What about caffeine’s impact on the pineal gland (the sitting place of the soul, intuition, creativity, astra-travel, etc.). It is already proven that people who have a regular caffeine intake have a 20% smaller pineal gland. Link that to the calcification caused by chemicals like fluoride and connect the dots as to why its a legal drug, representing a billion dollar industry. P. S. Thanks for the great video!

Limit & reduce gradually. Do not quit cold turkey. Wait at least 1-2 hours, the latter being optimal after waking up to have a coffee. Do not have a coffee past 12pm.

Thanks for sharing, Vince. I was a not coffee drinker for 20+ years, then I got introduced to it, had a rather negative experience. Kept going for years without any coffee until I tried a different brand and have switched back and forth to make sure it's not a placebo effect as all coffee's are not the same. I can say that when having wrong type of coffee, your mind is unnecessary irritated, having difficulty to have a proper sleep, even naps are fragile and you keep thinking you need another shot of coffee to fix you the next day. I also noticed that despite drinking coffee, I'd feel more dehydrated big time which feels strange as it's a liquid, isn't it? So for each cup of coffee I'd try to have a mineral water to stay hydrated. In small moderation it can help, but don't rely on it as the only means of energy source. ⚡

Vince… 1) So much hate on the internet these days because it is easy for them to sit behind a computer or phone. I guarantee the hate comments are people who are not happy in their own lives. 2) I have followed you for MANY years and this year I can see a change. You are more calm and engaged with your kids and it is noticeable. I can see you are enjoying them and being a father for possibly the first time. I see you putting them first instead of a business video. 3) keep going! No matter what happens you are becoming your best YOU for yourself and everyone around you. 4) I think these videos do help people! I loved watching you old fitness content and these are now up there with my favorite. Im not a business person so I enjoy the self help/fitness JOURNEYS!

Caffeine has its place. When you have to stay awake, focus, work on something you don’t want to work on, etc. consuming it for reasons than that, it’s abuse. I’m the biggest offender. I’ve given it up for the past 7 days. 24 hours was horrible. I feel ok now. It’s only been a few days.

I quit two months ago, the withdrawal was awful but totally doable. My heartburn went away, I am a much calmer person now, anxiety I used to feel is gone, I’m able to relax and enjoy the moment instead of feeling like I should be doing something or feeling agitated. I still miss it sometimes because I’m still a little groggy sometimes but I much prefer this calmer more patient self.

What you said in this video is odd to many people because they've been totally indoctrinated to believe that you must caffeinate for productivity, performance etc. However you're going against the grain and telling people truths that they don't want to hear, especially regarding the most abused and accepted drug in this world. Well done for speaking the truth!

Day 6 no caffeine. Feel great. I do feel tired through out the day at times but I feel like something positive is happening inside. Looking forward to hitting the 6 month mark. I’ve been drinking Shilajit in the morning as a replacement hot beverage and it gets me going. I’m also taking Cordyseps for energy. I’m not sure how I’ll feel if I removed all those things but it’s definitely helping me to kick the caffeine.

I tried quitting before and after a week or 2 of headaches, tiredness and laziness, i did'nt feel any better so i went beck to coffee. I plan to give it another try. I'm a habbit creature, so i think i'll try mixing portions of regular coffee & decaf. I think gradually reducing the coffee / decaf ratio until only decaf would be a better approach. Then lay off the decaf rill no more.

I've been over two years without alcohol and last year I cut out the occasional cannabis and based on your inspiration drastically cut down my caffeine intake. Instead of three or four cups a day I'm down to one or two and I always delay it at least an hour or two to let that adenosine get out of the system. Like you've noticed I've definitely not had a reduction in my energy, if anything it's gotten up, and I'm drinking a quarter of the amount of caffeine daily that I was!

Quit caffeine in 2014, was great. After having Chronic Fatique from a Covid infection for 3 years now, I started again as a energy helper, I was nearly bed bound the whole day. Also I use it as motivation to get outside and do my 10000 steps and get my coffee at the local bakery. But! I only drink one coffee in the morning, 90 minutes after wake up. I will not dose up, I know about the potential dangers. This coffee keeps me going for the whole day, if I get a bit sluggish in the afternoon, I may use some cacao nibs or 3 drops of Doterra wild orange essential oil to lift my mood a bit, which helps also with energy. No real crash in the afternoon or evening and good sleep, and of course no alcohol since 2014 also 😊 I see caffeine from different perspectives now, the good and the bad. And it is the same as with every drug, you can use it and misuse it. Being selfaware if you are displaying addictive behavior is a great step to be responsible with compounds, that somehow alter your consciousness
