Today is my 1 year anniversary since posting KZbin videos! 🎉💖 So here's part 2 of my old art, I really enjoyed sharing these (although I do waffle on a little 🙊) Curious to know if you'd ever like to see a digital painting timelapse, if anyone's interested I could perhaps revisit one of these... but which one 🤔

This is the reason why i switched to more traditional painting too. I honestly feel like digital art never feels complete. I can't stop working on a part of a painting and call that part done, you can always cut out, erase, undo, filter, paint over xD. Very lovely paintings. It's been great seeing your progress from start to now. :D keep up the awesome work!

Exactly how I feel! I'll always have a love for digital art (and still use it to help plan traditionally) but it's just too hard to call it finished. And the zoom... oh man, the zoom! Never ending details 😂It's a blessing and a curse isn't it! Glad to hear I'm not the only one! How are you finding the switch to traditional? Thanks for the kind words :) 💖
@alexandrad.d.3006 жыл бұрын
The switch kind of happened naturally. I still go back to digital sometimes but it just isn't satisfying. And yeah holy heck that zoom, when you draw a perfectly detailed eye and you zoom out and first of all, the details aren't all that visible and second they don't look as well as you'd have thought and don't match the rest of the painting x,D
@LittleSqueesh6 жыл бұрын
Yea exactly! 😂 and then you spend ages over-rendering the rest of the painting to match it and it all looks rather stiff and not at all like you imagined xD

Nothing beats the feeling and the smell of the paper.

Oh my I do have the same issues as well with digital art! I have like A LOT of wips, probably never to be touched anymore lol. Maybe more than 50 pieces? Which is crazy. But with traditional art, even when I dont feel like finishing them, I gotta push myself to because of the EXPENSIVE materials we use hahaha (especially oil paintings, it'd be such a waste if I throw it away!)

Great video! I'm feeling the same with digital art - it's way too easy to abandon it. Way too easy I tell you. Well, I'm glad I'm getting my feet wet so to speak with traditional mediums because they feel like they have a lot more depth to it. It's fun to feel the brush and all that extras. Who knows where mine will lead to, but I know one thing for sure - you're rocking it so far! :D

Isn't it just! And yes I totally get that, there's something quite therapeutic about putting a paint filled brush to paper/canvas that digital work has never given me. And thanks for the kind words! Your traditional work is inspiring, I look forward to seeing where it takes you :D 💖

Such a cool video to watch the art progress through the years!! Also thanks for introducing Daz, I've always wanted something to help me with my references and I definitely feel like this could be a good program!

Aw thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed the video 💖It's been a while since I've used Daz, but definitely check out some beginner videos, it can be a little overwhelming at first, especially if you're new to 3D programs :) You'll have to let me know how you get on! :D

I'm a purely traditional artist (maybe better said illustrator because that defines my style more) and I'm afraid no one's gonna hire me, yaaaay...

You can also draw traditionally and scan it. Maybe even edit it or colour it digitally, don't worry, it's still useful and if you can draw on paper, on a simple tablet or anything won't be too hard. Just take your time

Uh~ one year? COngrats! And when I look at your art I don´t wonder at all how you got 2,2k subs within a year and me not even after two :D They are amazing!!

Aw thank you so much! 💖 Try not to look at the number too much and just remember why you're making the videos you do :D I've been watching a few of yours lately and enjoying them, keep going! The numbers will come eventually :)

This was really interesting, but also a bit sad, because one could definitely see the progress in your digital artwork. Nonetheless I totally love traditional art, and you are rocking that, too :D

I have to admit feeling a little sad I never pushed myself more because I too saw an improvement, it's a shame I couldn't recognise it at the time! Thanks for the kind words 💖

If you do digital art you HAVE TO keep track of the hours put into each image and set a standard.
@LittleSqueesh5 жыл бұрын
Yes, otherwise I feel it can be easy to throw pieces away/call them done before they're done but also on the other side of things you can get carried away. I think of all the art I've done in my life, I've on average spent more time on digital pieces, it's hard to know when to stop!

I really love the picture of the woman at the window, the light is beautiful. I would buy it as is if it was available on your etsy! :D

I thought I had a spare one lying around but can't find it 😭 If I ever do, I'll let you know :) Thanks for the kind words! 💖

Will you ever return to digital some day? I don't think you should abandon it because your work is awesome. Also a bit of advice on avoiding abandoning digital pieces. Keep the piece you are working on open on your screen at all times. So when you walk away and come back to it and turn on your monitor again, it's right there for you to work on.

Digital art just doesn't have the magical touch that physical art does.
