Glad you covered this topic. There's nothing left for Paladins. Their management and dev team took for granted the community they built over the years...now Overwatch 2 is also suffering the same fate. The devs and owners became too comfortable thinking they won't have a competition someday. If only Overwatch and Paladins listened to their community and took good care of their content creators they would still strongly compete against Marvel Rivals. I love Overwatch so much especially the characters and the lore, but the game developers deserve a whoop in the a$$ and learn a lesson from Marvel Rivals. I hope Paladins & OW will learn from this.

I remember I went against you a few times even in game you are a good content creator and a very nice person. Very chill. Man, another amazing paladins content creator leaving paladins. Sometime last year I ACTUALLY realized the game was pretty close to deaths door. I had been making jokes about it for years and never sat down to let the reality sink in. I use to have such a love/hate relationship with this game, yet after the realization I have now had far more love and appreciation for it. I want the best for this game, but Hi-Rez just stopped caring about this game and the devs can only do so much. Admittingly I barely hop on this game because I can hardly get friends to play (I hate solo queue). Have fun with Marvel Rivals Kirbz, the game is amazing!

I don't know if anyone else had this problem but the reason I stopped playing Paladins was because it just kept crashing on my PS5. I reinstall every now and again to see if it was back playable but it crash at the title screen every time so i just gave up on it. It sucks that nothing has happened all this time for the game because it was really fun to me. Luckily I have Marvel Rivals to fill the void

I recently uninstalled Paladins too. It was a very sad moment. I'm gonna miss some of the characters and their kits, card loadouts, talents, item shop. But it is hard to have fun anymore. Meanwhile I also can't stop playing Marvel Rivals and will be eagerly consuming all Kirb content on it

MR doesn’t even come close to the complexity and depth of paladins. Paladins offers way more customisation, what MR did was to copy the OW formula and put it into the marvel setting. Paladins has it’s fair share of issues but we also need to bear in mind that you’re comparing an almost 10y old game which hardly has any budget with a game that just came out so it got a lot of buzz and has the marvel IP behind it. Talking about new champions, of course marvel will release some soon as they just started and they hardly have any. Paladins has already 60+ champions. Personally I liked that they focused more on quality of life and balance changes last year because the game needed it. I’ve tried MR and coming from paladins the game felt too simple for me in terms of mechanics. I guess it’s fun if you are into the MR universe which I’m not. Anyways obviously this is just my opinion, and we’re both entitled to our own. Regardless, thanks to the announcement as I followed you for the paladins content so I wish you all the best moving forward!🤗

Exactly. Marvel focuses the casual player. Flashy graphics and stuff. Cool heroes with fancy abilities. What makes sense in a strategic sense is not so important. It's good but it lacks something. In this season Luna heals 25% more because it's year of the moon in China. That's marvel balancing. 😇

@ I think there have been a lot of great changes (item store rework, talent reworks, buffing certain champs most recently barik, etc). There will be always people who are never happy with whatever they do and that’s okay.

One thing I've never understood was the depth point. On paper, it looks like Paladins has more depth (card system and talents), but in practice, characters still play the same. Very rare instances are there "2-3 different characters under one character". Are there example of that where the character does change? Sure, but that's not the vast majority of cases, you still play the character the same no matter what your card packs/character talents you pick. Not to mention due to how metas work, characters like Viktor and Tyra were only played one way because they were OP for the longest time. Just because it's not directly in your face doesn't mean MR lacks depth. AndrewChicken tried to make the same point, but immediately contradicted himself with the team ups point he made. Some of those issues (like budget) is a Hi Rez issue, and is fair to put into perspective, because Hi Rez could've also increased budgets/resources, but didn't. Pretty sure 35 characters isn't "hardly any". You also can't make a point about a game being almost a decade old, then get on MR for having "hardly any characters" when the game just started. It's simple in mechanics but there are still tons of techs people are still learning, also Paladins also has very simple mechanics, so I don't get your point here. I'm glad they focused on QoL last year as you say, but I'm pretty sure if I booted up the game I'd still run into a lot of the same problems I did 7 years ago. Anyway, that's just my take on your statement.

i used to play paladins. and for me, the reason i left is the 'quantity over quality' with the amount of characters they kept adding. they keep adding more stuff rather than polishing/fixing what needed to be fixed. quantity over quality. also i dont feel the game has a direction, the devs care about the game cuz they keep "updating" the game, but they dont care cuz they dont make an effort to fix the game. (may or may not be bad take. this was my perspective right before i quit. i havent played in about a year at this point)

Of course Marvel rivals will provide better content and experience when it's created and maintained on a higher budget, its mostly hirez' fault tho because they 100% have the resources to make this game brilliant but hirez and their corporate greed dump everything into a new project, squeeze it for money and leave, who remember divine knockout (dko) lmao. Hirez have fun and amazing games that theu refuse to build upon. They are sitting on several cash cows and do nothing with them.

If paladins two ever happens, if even gets a slitht mention. It better include the following. 1.free leave,people can que in and pick a character that hasnt been picked by allies should an afk. 2. Customizable crosshairs+1-100 controller scaling. To make our own crosshairs with theee layers to it if optional like 💢💠▪️ with retical bloom options and color. 3. Skin regions for recolor with slider, enough with the reskins just add the sliders and options,it can be six regions from effects to skin,clothes1-3 ect. Same for weapons but three regions. 4 character emotes,mvp poses,highlight intros, character select intro for regions of character. Becusse why not. 5.ingame score board with real time stats not elims. And a toggle options per character. 6. A fith branch of the item store using the new items in a purple category as generalist. For a future balance idea. 7. In spawn and only in spawn after every match can players spend their points on region themed shops that can be either goblins, stone crystal minions,or even wyrms depending on the map theme to smke way for crouching. 8. Melee 9.community voted skins for up to 8 character models per season after every 4 months. 10. Every five levels a character gets a chapter to their story added up till level 50 where you reach 10 full chapters and some cinimatics to keep people engaged,maybe hire egghead cobra and gandalfthegreat as well as other gifted animators too. 11.trials of the realm being reworked into a pay to play for old pass for grinding old and new skins as well as emotes and sprays and even highlights or death stamps themeticly appropriate to the paid for trial. 12. Grindable weapon skins like shattermaw masteries for every character when you grind for points in ranked, as well as crystal themed weapons as well as champipn weapons which would be beefed up versions of the original and better. 13. Talents that arent small buffs to a ability or acts as a spam excuse i.e it must affect how a character plays(Drogos- muzzle lizard,Drogos loads in rockets and fires them at a steady pace of double the rate but it lowers damage and affects your secondary fire mode into a huge slow rocket that deals 1,900 damage. Or wyrm jets, when hitting boosters you charge forward into where you are looking, acid swimmer, balls of acid exlode and eave residue that deal 250 damage a second ignoring damage reduction and can affect enemies when ult + gooped comboed into new status affect: armor peirce. 14. Large and unique maps with game easter eggs,in game views,lore and mechanics. 15. Que pools, before queing in comp,quickplay or arcade you can disable king of the hill,siege,siege beyond with gate system and ram cart,deathmatch,fog and battle royal witch is a 10 v 10 in a huge map with 5 deaths allowed per player, last one standing wins- Barik. 16. Content creator edited guide videos in the game like character explains and items and que pools. This has been nobody,and i loved Paladins.

Paladins and SMITE are excellent games that I've been playing for years and they are two of the I've played in 40 years of gaming however, The developers don't seem very excited about the product. They are constantly improving the design some characters but they make it very difficult to purchase in items games. I wish they would get into meme coins, tournaments and being able to play to win meme coins.

Yeah, I also got many hours playing Marvel but I start getting bored. Marvel matches are always the same. Match making is horrible, worse than Paladins. It's less strategic as Paladins. I run around do my character's stuff and then we win - or not. It's hard to tell what I did right or wrong, how I could improve. Marvel is full of unfair stuff. The spiderman who bullies me the whole game and I can't do anything against it. Insta-kill ults. There is not this tension I have in Paladins and World of Warships. Where it feels like if win or lose it depends on me (at least sometimes ^^). So I wont delete Paladins.

We smite content creators have been treated the same. Or anybody outside of ranked Conquest. They only cared about handpicked NA Conquest players. No matter how passionate you were about this game and thing. I made smite videos for like 7 years and not once did hirez employees mention me. Even tho we wasted so much money on all this community managers and Olympians etc and that's just the tip of the iceberg. I made videos about smite and paladins yesttday

i'm so pissed about paladins... With overwatch keeping floping around and dissapoint it's player base over and over they had multiple golden oportunities to fix their shit and finally become not only proper competition but just an overall great ass game. Random glitch, random disconections, balancing issues, no new characters, no new maps no nothing, they just don't care... and it's sad, i love the gameplay, i love the characters, i love the cosmetics, the artstyle, there was so much potential but they just fumbled it. And yeah with marvels rivals coming out and doing so many great things, i don't have any disconection or bugs, they seem to be quick with the balance changes to not let broken characters broken for too long, they aparently plan on releassing 2 characters every 2 months which is wild... There's just no reason to stay on paladins anymore, and that's sad

i left paladins like 2 or 3 years ago around the time Kasumi came out, i was tired of getting afk's all the time and Hirez not fixing bugs that have been in the game for years and also balancing characters, now im playing Marvel Rivals and its much better than Paladins but for some reason i had more fun on Paladins during peak time, i guess it was the abilities or even the different builds that you could do idk, Paladins always had the potential to be better but the devs are greedy and only care about skins or the battle pass, they even removed the kill cam because it was too much of a hassle for them to fix the bugs lol, they just increased the number of cheaters by doing that

Well you started to play paladins on its peak after 2020 it was pretty much down hill for the game since they got rid of the lead director and just kept passing on the role to someone hence no content. Soon as I saw the changes we were getting back then I knew it was time to go I noticed the game changes were odd and things that were not needed or asked for as well as the battle pass lacking content compared to before. As far as balancing goes for ranked you can't really balance it when yo have a dead game so your bound to get high elos against you. Its sad to see the game in the state that it's in now especial since I had started playing back in 2016 when it had came out.

yeah i too, i literally switched to strinova, second casual game im playing is just tf2, i had rly good time playing paladins, when ow1 was not f2p i played pala instead, i mean only paladins 2 can save this game. overall it was fun, but when in strinova tactical-hero shooter, that just has 2 seasons, im literally MVP almost everytime like its 95% ratio xd, and soon new character will be released. and the game have 3 modes Demolition(main cs/valo style) Frikin PAYLOAD XD(with VEEERY familiar map ekhm giblartar) and tdm but in 4 teams for 3people, and every character is balanced( and that's very fkin impressive xd) its just ur own pure skill (and luck he he), and even casual mode is called challenge with climbing in same ranks as in ranked , and u even gets rewards for playing casual at the start of new season(last one I finished I Gold 3) oh BTW day 2356 of asking Kirby to play *STRINOVA* (i know u like rivals but its just better valorant)

Paladins died for me when they lost switch support and there was no way to transfer my hard work into my ps5 (thanks Sony) but marvel rivals is just so fun right now….the only thing they need to steal from paladins are monts and ability loadouts

Yeah definitely not going to miss damba deft hands stun spam. Also kasumis auto aim was never the issue, she just wasn't sacrificing enough for it. Example Wanda in rivals is fine, because her DPS is much worse than other options. She's annoying, but nowhere near as egregious.
