Excellent point. Our education system has a lot of loop holes. On one hand we say that everyone is different and has different mental emotional and creative setup. And on other hand we have this education system which judges everyone on same parameters. I am not sure that how well not going to school will work, but education which is being given in current form is totally unacceptable.
@JoshTalksLive7 жыл бұрын
Very well put, Gaurav! But how do you think we could find a better solution to this problem with the sheer number of people we have in our country?
@BeyondTrafficJam7 жыл бұрын
Well, there are many benefits of going to school too. In mordern way of living parents are too busy to find time for children. So who is going to guide these children? Which so much evil in society there are also chances that these children can get diverted in wrong direction. Moreover other benefits of going school can't be ignored. So school education which is there to be transformed. some of the steps may be- 1- Scrapping current examination system. 2- Giving students more creative space. 3- Promoting and awarding creative skills. Originality should be encouraged. 4- Providing practical education and real life feel of the subjects. these are some things which can be done to start with.

While I resonate with her points of absence of creativity in our pedagogies and the conformity it breeds in our people's thinking abilities and the advantages of self-learning I wish she would have also covered ways that could be applied for professions and vocations which need a license to perform like medicine, architecture, law or anything that deals with critical infrastructure. For that we might need different solutions for curating syllabi and assessment, which ofc might be very different from what exists right now via the way our universities and schools do but just pointing out something that she missed out on. I'm a self-directed learner myself btw and writing a book on designing novel interactive visual abstractions (novel ui concepts) for new ways of learning, teaching, explaining, discovering, inventing things online. This book aims to explore new approaches to online learning, teaching, explaining, discovering, and inventing, intersecting with educational psychology, open education, and interface design. The book is structured around ten themes, each represented by a pair of questions related to UI design, edtech, open education, teaching, research, learning, and invention. A stepping stone towards building an ecosystem of services, tools and platforms to make autodidactism feasible and materially possible.

You're doing exactly the same thing that I ever wanted to do n still willing to do but never took any action because of Parents n society as according to them I wasn't of that age who can take her own decisions but Now I'm very clear of my Dream n I know what I've to do😇🤗 n I'll do it no matter how many challenges will come in life to complete my Dream but yeah!! I'll complete it anyhow 😇❤️
