Nice intro, Tory, that was funny :) You still haven't told me the fly noise in the intro :) Cheers - Naren.

Small sellers need to have a very well populated blocked countries list. No point allowing sales to third world countries with very poor postal systems, when only a couple of non delivered packages there will have a disproportionate impact on a small seller account. I recommend blocking everything except the main overseas locations (USA, Canada, UK, some Euro countries, NZ) until an account is well established with lots of overseas transactions, and the seller already knows how to deal with all possible issues from past problems with their other domestic sales.

I sell internationally because 9 times out of 10 i make money on postage as i am on top tier savings with Australia Post. I have shipped to change of address by comments (mostly within Australia) and never had s problem (touch wood!). Ebay can see all messages so they see the buyer asked to change it (just like when a customer asks to cancel orders).

International goooood. International when you're just starting out = scam magnet I messed up an International post recently to china. Underestimated it by $15. I didn’t care. They spent $75 in my store on a bunch of cds I got off the side of the road. I'm still happy

I live in Canada and I also sell worldwide. The issue for Canadians is the cost of shipping books. Anything over 2cm costs a package rate (approx. $20 or more in Canada and the US - much more for overseas). Therefore I mostly sell stamps, covers and postcards. I have some great books I would love to sell online but who wants to pay an extra $20 for a book? Lots (multiple books) might work but it's not worth the trouble. Even a thin book (under 2cm) can be rejected if it is "too stiff". I do like to watch your channel though (maybe it's the accent :) There is no tracking included when mailing using a standard envelope, but thankfully most stamp and postcard collectors are honest. I also love that I have been able to sell all over the world (Japan, China, Brazil, Slovakia, etc...)

I’m fairly new to your channel. I’m learning all the time so enjoy your videos although I have to catch up quite a few. Your down to earth attitude is refreshing too. I’ve just started reselling again on eBay after a break of a number of years. I was unsure whether to have a store or not and would appreciate your thoughts on the matter. I’ve just got one item up for sale under my normal acct and have a lot more to list but have been sick so that’s still to happen.

At the moment I wouldn’t have a store I’m sorry you haven’t been well and I really appreciate you coming along for my silly journey. Once you get a few things listed, then we can explore the topic of stores.

Pre-Covid I always sold internationally (that was when you could still send small items by untracked letter). I need to look back into it but still need to get my head around labelling UK packages properly to display VAT. Germany you now have to register for their Packaging Act to send parcels there. I’m not insured for US so bit reluctant to include them, although I used to just sell to them for about 10 years without insurance. I’m not as brave now that I’m getting older 😆. I do miss the international sales though. Used to be a big part of my income.

@@geelong-flipper it’s certainly not as simple as it used to be or maybe my old lady brain just doesn’t process things like it used to 🤣

20% of my ebay sales used to be international years back and now its maybe 1%. General sales have dropped substantially over the years. Overall eBay feels like its slowly dying. They continue to make lots of money but from advertising. Its not the items i sell because i have many of the same ones on Amazon and Amazon outsells eBay nearly 10 to 1

To be honest, I have absolutely no idea. I’ve always just done them myself and I just get them to scan the QR code. I’m not like one of these big time eBay KZbinrs that fill up a sack and just leave it with the post office yet :-) notice how I said yet.lol
