You can absolutely melt snow in a Jetboil. Just put a little bit of water in the bottom and then the snow on top. I've done it plenty of times on ski trips.

Copy that! I'm basing this on past warranty issues with Jetboil where stove have broken due to melting snow and they won't replace them. Maybe something has changed.

@@EmoryByLand They still may not cover it, but using the water first method reduces the risk, because you don't have the rapid temperature change in the pot. You should always add water first when melting snow regardless of the stove system you are using. Snow will singe.

Love your videos & podcast. Now that they have cranked out a bunch of new ones…. Which would you buy today?

Hey thanks! It's funny you ask this question because I was recently asking MYSELF the same one and I literally came to the conclusion that in 99% of cases, I'd probably just revert to the Jetboil Flash for how easy it is to use. The built in lighter and quickness of the system is just so hard to pass up. I think if I wanted to cut weight or save a bit of space, I might swap to the Stash that they recently came out with just because it's a very similar system in that it's fully integrated which makes it stable. The ultralight kit that I sometimes use always makes me nervous because of how unstable it is. I'm always worried I'll tip it over and spill everything and I also don't like how hot it gets on the outside when boiling water. Trust me, I WANT to want something else, but why fix what's not broken?

Shooot. Until this moment, I’ve viewed JetBoil like I view Nalgene Bottles. Like “us hard-core peeps use the BRS stove and SmartWater Bottles.” Now, you are making me re-consider. Most convincing is the move-ability while cooking and the no-spin setup.... you prolly just sold me...also...my titanium mug isn’t great when the coffee is super hot....

It’s not always about weight savings and how small something can get. It’s about what’s most efficient when in the field. 👊🏼👊🏼

How do you set your lighting up for your videos and what do you use as a light? Thanks brother!

I saved up for an Apature 120 d ii and with a light dome mini. It’s as close as I can get it to my face at about a 45 degree angle
