Because of puffiness under my eyes that seemed to be getting worse over time and having seen your first video on this subject, I decided to return to my Dermotologist and ask to dissolve the filler that was injected over 5 yrs prior. Never would I have imagined that the filler was not only still there BUT it was the cause of my now bubbles under my eyes. After the procedure the bubbles were completely gone! I was in disbelief that the filler I assumed had long ago dissolved was not only still there but cause a disfigurement. I was putting off plastic surgery assuming that was my only option. Thank you for your original video (and this one) it saved me from plastic surgery. Needless to say I forwarded both to my dermatologist 😉.

Thank you for sharing your story. It sounds so similar to mine. I had the tear troughs filled before successfully with a small about of a Jevuderm Hyalaronic filler a few year ago and was quite happy with the result. As time went by and the filler naturally dissolved I went back to my dermatologist. She recommended a new filler called Ellanse (none hyaluronic) as it apparently last much longer than the Jevuderm. I trusted her and allowed her to inject. Immediately my eyes started burning and by the time I got home was eyes were so swollen I could barely see out of it. After icing and going back to her the next morning se injected something to dissolve some of it. Fortunately the swelling went down and but it left tiny little lumps in the corners of my eyes. It was not Immediately noticeable but I could notice it but lived with it for over a year. (The original dermatologist sadly passed away) and I found a new dermatologist whom I asked to help dissolve tiny lumps in corner of my eyes. After reinjecting celestone and hyalase to dissolve it, to my horror it made it worse. Those tiny little lumps seemed to have increased in size have now become big and puffy and has spread all the way down my tear troughs. Its so unsightly that I've lost all confidence looking people in the eye and wear specs to hide it. I consulted a plastic surgeon for his opinion and he said it could be corrected with surgery or by waiting for it to dissolve naturally. He also told me to massage the area daily to help speed along thr dissolving period. This has had mixed results as I found that in some instances it just made it even puffier. I felt like I was the only person in the world whom experienced this until I came across this video and thought my only option may be plastic surgery which is not the route I want to go.

Normalize unfilled faces. I’ve ended up with thyroid issues and thyroid eye disease after fillers. My face swells randomly. Filler lasts up to 10 years and floats. The filler hydrates and dehydrates for life. You will look different everyday depending on what you eat. Some days you’ll look empty, other days you’ll look deformed. Don’t do it.

I’ve had deep, dark hollowed tear troughs my whole life. I’m 25 and got tear trough filler for the first time 5 months ago. The doctor who did it said, “There’s literally no risk whatsoever.” 🙄 Ever since then, I haven’t been able to breathe out of my nose. Not joking. When I bend over, snot just pours out like a faucet. I’m constantly congested and with a runny nose. It makes it nearly impossible to sleep, exercise, and even speak comfortably. I’ve never had this problem in my life until the day of the procedure and every day since then. My under eyes are puffy and sore now every day when I wake up. They hurt often now due to any little thing-weather change, my period, whatever. Although they do look better aesthetically and it’s easier to put on makeup, I feel unhealthier than ever. It’s really impacted my quality of life. I want to get them dissolved, but I’ve also read nightmare stories about that as well. The hyaluronidase can break down your body’s own natural HA as well as the filler. I wish I had never gotten the filler in the first place. Learn from my mistakes y’all!! Stay safe!

This is a powerful life lesson. Anytime we are trying to hide, rather than accept, anything about ourselves...it will shift and cause symptoms elsewhere. The truth will come out eventually. To love oneself, wholly, and to reject the societal pressures...is to stop betraying oneself to fit a certain mold. Our self betrayal will always come out, whether in snot...or bad relationships..whatever. I wish you healing and wellmess

I had fillers in my tear trough 10 years ago and it was one of my biggest regrets. A short time (days) after I had the fillers I developed bags under my eyes that weren't there before. He dissolved the fillers but the damage had been done. I felt looked like a monster. I went to plastic surgeons and dermatologists for help but no one was able to and was advised to go back to the original dr who put in the fillers. I did find out from one that the fillers attracted water and that's probably what happened. I was 50 at the time and my skin was thinner and the fillers plumped up and stretched out the skin under my eyes. I've worn glasses since then and gained weight and the bags aren't as noticeable. I wish I had seen something like this before...actually, in all my research, I've never seen anyone address this issue. Good on you for doing so!

Thank you for sharing. As an Oculoplastic surgeon in California, I agree with your assessment that peri ocular fillers are quite risky. I have managed 2 cases from outside, non-doctor injectors with filler in the orbit. One patient had worsening swelling after COVID vaccination (published reaction) and one with double vision after filler injection. I think if you got an Oculoplastic surgeon involved they would have been able to to treat without the ultrasound; in my two cases I was able to inject into the orbit without any special imaging guidance due to my experience of giving orbital and retrobulbar injections for other medical conditions. Any ophthalmologist is trained to inject into the orbit, so do not forget to involve you EyeMDs.

Look into dermastamping/dermarolling (by a qualified professional!!) If you are looking to get rid of dark circles. I've used at home dermarolling before at slightly below where the cheekbones end and eyesockets start (high cheekbones and deep set eyes), and it has eliminated the darkness where I did it, making the remaining parts look more like fashionably upturned panda eyes instead of round dark blotches. I'm sure it can be used to clear up almost all of it if you get someone professional to do the riskier areas for you, like closer to underneath the lower lid glands and above the eyelid.

@@Call-me-Al is it those dermarollers with needles?
@Call-me-Al
@Call-me-Al 2 жыл бұрын
@@raven-kn6lv short answer: yes. Long: Both the dermarollers and dermastamping tools are the same, but in different styles. The roller is obviously a roller of spaced out needles, but the dermastamping one is like a blocky brush except instead of bristles it has needles spaced out on a patch. The needles can be anything from 0.2(5) to 2-3 mm, and the longer the thicker skin you need to use it on. But when you're getting something as sensitive as skin right next to the lids done it's really best you have someone else do it for you. The 0.2mm doesn't really do much on normal face and body skin, and is mainly for enhancing the penetration of serums and such. I imagine it could be used on the dark circle parts immediately around the eyelids, but it seems too risky.

I've honestly been waiting for this. So much filler work looks awful. The wealthiest people in the world (i.e. people who can surely afford to go to the best doctors) look objectively worse after a certain amounts and placements of fillers. Some of them, on video or irl, look like they have cement in their faces. It's so strange that people have forgot the whole point of any of this is to look BETTER. If removing every last wrinkle makes you look like an alien with cheeks full of marshmallows, that's not a desired outcome!

Fillers are just a band aid solution to cosmetic issues. If a person wants natural, long lasting results, surgery is the way to go. It may seem more invasive from the outset but at least you won’t have any foreign substances floating in your body. However, the best thing IMO is just to leave it the hell alone.

Tear trough implants may be a good alternative. As of a few years ago, I located a physician down in Texas (believe it is Houston) who performed these. I want to say that each implant was customized to the patient. I.e. Using a putty-like substance, the staff would take an impression of the patients' tear troughs, and send off to a lab so that the implant was of the accurate size and thickness needed to properly fill the trough. Not sure whether this doctor still offers this surgery, but perhaps look into it. I can tell you from personal experience that tear trough fillers are NOT WORTH their exorbitant cost. I've done them twice and the results are barely noticeable, and they quickly dissolve. Very disappointing. This approach to correcting dark circles is nonsensical. It's also a money pit. Three trips to get filler and you've likely paid a good chunk of what it would cost for a permanent solution - either with trough implants or via undereye blepharoplasty.

I am so grateful for your wise words and I wish you were on more. I have been a holistic master esthetician for almost 4 decades and the issues I see from fillers, botox, lasers, and cosmetic procedures is quite honestly unbelievable. Hard spots, lumps, scars that didn’t heal properly and muscles that have stopped working. Most women cry in my chair because the procedures didn’t do what they expected and and or changed how they looked so dramatically ( not in a good way) that their self esteem was even worse. The fact you show so many young women is so disheartening. We need to love ourselves, we need to stop trying to change who we are. We need to change the story on what is beautiful. Aging is a gift and imperfections are normal. Leave your face alone and just take care of it. Blessings. 🍑🙌🏻🧡Lisa

I totally agree with you. I either do a lower bleph or nothing at all. I’m also oculoplastic surgeon. My mentor actually stopped all fillers all together after a mild complication... he simply didn’t want the stress and was loving his surgeries anyway!! Great video and gutsy too !!

I got my Orbicularis Retaining Ligament released almost a year ago due to tear trough deformity - the results are fantastic, fixed my problem 100%! (That was all I had done. I'd had a lower blepharoplasty about 10 years ago and did not need further fat removal or anything.) Got it done because I was afraid of fillers there due to the complications, and am so glad I did. Thank you for your informative and honest videos.

You have taken a good pathway to fix your concern. Unfortunately, many are unwilling to take the surgical pathway, and take the 'easier' filler pathway only to be disappointed. Thank you for sharing your story.

Thank you- I don’t like the dark rings under my eyes either, but I’ll gracefully accept them instead of making myself sick for the sake of beauty.🙏🏻

I respect your honesty. It's refreshing and encouraging. Many US 🇺🇸 doctors lack integrity. I hope to find a doctor like you here in North America.

As always, your honesty regarding fillers is greatly appreciated. I have a massive complex about my lips, they've bothered me my entire life, but with doing more and more research and watching more videos like yours, I've chosen to stick with botox lip flips and makeup techniques instead of lip or undereye fillers, for the time being. In a few years as I age and my face matures more, maybe I'll change my mind - but at this stage, fillers aren't worth it yet for me (I mean, I hate my lips, but do I really hate them enough to risk blindness, necrosis or migration? Not really.)

Ironically, with lips, the finer your lips , the harder they are to fill. There is less 'space' in finer lips to fill. Good to see I have made you consider all the possibilities. Fillers are not for everyone.

Just stick with fat transfer or do nothing. At this point nothing looks better than what we are seeing out there. Use bioidentical hormones when you get older and take saw palmetto to prevent collagen break down.

I watched a video of yours 2 years ago in which I doubted you over the opinion of my injector and another maxosurgeon. I would just like to say 2 years in I've made an appointment to discuss chin implants. I think the filler industry will get better the more you speak up but it's just so much to go yet. I feel embarrassed how much I just went with everything before.

This is the absolute best video out there for anyone looking to use filler, not only in the teardrop area but anywhere on their face really. I’m so glad I watched this video while doing some pre-procedure homework. I’m cancelling my appointment. Thank you so so so much.

Hope more people come across this video. 3 years ago I started developing huge puffy bags under my eyes, so large my skin was stressed and pink with irritation. Went to an allergist thinking I was having a severe reaction to something, never considering it was the filler I got just over TEN years prior. When that appointment yielded nothing, ended up at a pricey cosmetic dermatologist who specifically asked about filler, and suggested it could be the old molecules partially breaking down and taking on more water (regarding the fairly fast onset). Fortunately hyaluronidase resolved it, very relieved I did not have the under globe issue addressed here! Just don't do it. I don't even think the risk of placing just below the trough is worth it with the possibility of migration and these substances being so long lasting in some people.
