I never even realized the bash changes on her. I love Black Prior because they are a Knight that can take on a full squad with confidence. I’m happy that the Sword & Shield Knight is strong. Now, onto to my new project; Axe & Shield Viking, Varangian Guard!

I'll telly you why, because: Unblockable drains like 2 heavies worth of stamina. zone cost is atrocious and leads directly to light finisher, so no possibility to get into bash/ud mixup, aside the ub which again costs immensely. Opener heavies leads to no real mixup aside the ub which again costs immensely. Dodge forward bash window input is suuuper slow and many times you're gbed midbash Flip refills stamina of who is flipped but you Softfeint bash is gbable on whiff when is super slow and leads only to light finisher, aside the ub which again costs immensely to use even more to feint. Also chase is utterly atrocious, and a simple solution would be to gelive access to the softfeint bash afted dodge forward heavy. This forces bp players to play exteeeemely slow and passively using basically only the zone as opener or empty dodge forward heavy

I think she is pretty uncomplicated, but she has a skill curve where you have to learn her. She has some different inputs from most other characters. When i played her i was terrible for like 5 reps then after that i just became unstoppable. Once you get better you just feel relatively unstoppable

It's not too much of a new "ability" (for a lack of terms) but new characters that come out have obviously had more to be experimented with, and things like Afeera and VGs double cc lights seem to be something that bp and my own girl valk should be updated with to at least have a better chance against any new tricks that the future characters would have. (Also come on my dude, fashions a good reason to play. Though you're right. The sad truth is the same thing with overwatch where the Meta is the way to win but not always fun because then it would get boring. Even to this day bp myself has been my second highest rep but I did kinda fall off playing her with the addition of new people. So I can see where you're coming from. Keep it up mister solidus.

I understand him, WL was nerfed too It used to be 100-300ms, so you could abuse your frame advantage light to mixup with the bash, but now you can't and it feels sluggish now

my opinion on the character may be biased since its my main, i love BP. To start off i would say don't buy it because you're new to the game but you do you, its a good hero overall but it definitely comes down to your playstyle, for example if you like playing aggressive characters like Centurion, Berserker, Gladiator, then BP is not for you, its the reason why some people think BP is bad in the first place because they play aggressive with a heavy, stamina draining, easy to punish character, BP is more of a Turtle/Counter type of playstyle where you punish people into your playstyle, you have to make reads and have the knowledge of the enemy movesets to make full use of your crushing counters or bulwark flips, this is obviously common sense and should be applied to every hero you play, but BP is a character that heavily relies on this, even more with the nerf they did to BP. The nerf was needed however i think they should bump it down to 400ms at least, but whatever, reason i say it needed a nerf was because BP was definitely overpowered on standard terms compared to other heroes, the bash was unreactable on 300ms, the chances of people dodging it were 1 out of 10, the bulwark flip was insanely fast on react to a point were people could not attack you not even in a gank situation because you could either bash or react flip before they could even try to hit you, before the nerf BPs where just bash light spamming to win and more higher skilled BPs would rely on their flips, the nerfed changed that skill gap and actually made it so it takes more skill and have you rely on other moves BP has to offer, i still win in ganks half the time, i have no struggle whatsoever on using the flips or bashing, and its still imo the best comfort pick. TLDR; BP is not a fast agressive character more so of a slow and steady punisher and is a character that relies on game knowledge, the nerf made BP to actually have skill and rely on other sources of its kit to be good on the field, and its still a top tier character but hard to play compared to others that are more rewarding and easier to play.

Literally just keep playing, thats the only way youll get better. Find a character you enjoy and rep them up, find out combos that work, try different mix ups. The only way youll get better is taking fights
