He doesn't say he's Catholic... He says he goes to the Catholic Church which accepts his baptism as an Assyrian and allows him access to the Sacraments. He also experienced Marian miracles through Catholics so he prefers to go to the Catholic Church as an Assyrian until he has reason to leave. Meanwhile, he's still making his way through the East-West debates on the Papacy and the Filioque.

Great segment, I can really relate to him. I'm a Protestant but I subscribe to & follow a lot of Catholics & Orthodox Christians. I see them as my brothers & sisters in Christ. I'm disturbed by how many Protestants hate on Catholics; if anything that makes me want to look into your denomination more. Thanks for this conversation! Always enjoy this channel.

When our lady of Kibeho appeared to three visionaries, she asked all student to pray the 7 sorrows of Mary. She never said only Catholics. She told them they are all her flowers and some are dry, but we all her flowers. We love divisions for nothing. As for protestants who hate Catholics, it depends on the pastors who say things without knowing what they are talking about or lying. I used to follow Dr. Stanley and he never said negative things about the Catholic Church. We pray for the unity of the church while Protestants are calling us pagans. Read the early Christians aka church fathers and you will see that the Catholic Church does exactly what they were doing.

@@dianeangel7171 Thank you so much for this insightful, thoughtful comment, my sister in Christ! Indeed, I know many fellow Protestants who do not demean nor slander the Catholic Church; I choose to listen to them over the 'haters'. I see no use in division! And I certainly don't see Catholics as pagan, or 'worshiping statues' or any of the other shallow takes I've seen, usually on social media. I will consider all you've said! Have a wonderful weekend. (p.s. As a side note...you are absolutely gorgeous!)

This was a great episode. I'm a Protestant Pastor, who learned about every denomination from professors from mine. But I became a missionary. When you're in the States it's easy to hide in your echo chamber. On the mission field labels fall away as we share the Good news of Jesus with those who don't know him. I watch several Catholic and Orthodox KZbin channels. And I thank you for explaining what some of your unique doctrines and practices are about. Jesus is Lord. Thanks again.

I wish I had known more about Catholicism when I was still Lutheran. I wouldn't have called veneration of Mary or intercessory prayers pagan or necromancy, but I think I might've found it weird and had issue with it. But then you realize "Hail Mary, full of grace" is how Angel Gabriel himself greeted Mary. And the Apostle's Creed says "we believe in the Communion of Saints," which is the supernatural connection between all believers past and present. I somehow never stopped to ask what these things meant, because I was simply never told about them. Funny that.

Ephesians 6:18 Pray in the Spirit at all times in every prayer and supplication. To that end keep alert and always persevere in supplication for all the saints. Make whatevever arguments you want but if you want to reach protestants you'll automatically lose all validity if you misquote scripture.
