Jokes aside, I think the appeal of your content is that it just feels like you are chilling with Asmon and his friends and playing games. No agenda. No pressure. Go with the flow. Just crackling jokes with no pretense. I think that this can only continue if you keep doing what is genuinely fun for you, even if it's contrary to what we/viewers say we think we want. Take care of yourself. Also, the gardening stream was some of the funniest shit I've ever seen you do. And the storytelling element was really cool, and you are damn good at it.

Take care of yourself mate, like truly try to minimize your exposure to stress. I myself didn't truly knew what were the panic attacks, I never experienced them. Until one time 3 years ago when I was overloaded with university assignments, work and bunch of other problems on top of that. As I was pulling another all nighter to finish all my assignments I've experienced a panic attack that also impaired my breathing for around 10 minutes. It felt as I was dying and couldn't do anything but lay on bed. It felt like I had cancer or something and was slowly fading away. Although I survived that sort of stress rekt my chest muscles on the right side, as well as shoulder blade. Been recovering through gym training ever since, and had to take steps to minimize exposure to that sort of bs I had to deal with.

What you described sounds like classic anxiety. I’ve had the same thing and everyone always describes a tightness or pressure in the chest and feeling your heart rate and a sense of impending doom. It takes a long time to acknowledge it could be anxiety especially if you don’t exhibit classic anxiety symptoms like fear of public spaces, meeting people, etc. I spent like 2.5 years going to dozens and dozens of appointments and tests to find what was wrong with me and they always came back perfectly normal even though I could swear something was physically wrong with me. I don’t have any social anxiety or ever thought I was anxious but all my symptoms were those of generalized anxiety. I don’t know how to solve it because I still haven’t but I know where you’re coming from so my heart goes out to you.

Yo dude I had a super similar experience as you did. Scared me so bad I called an ambulance to the house although I didn't end up going to the hospital. It felt like it could be a heart attack or something. Like you I played copious amounts of video games. I don't stream but I would sit and play games for 12-14 hours in a day sometimes. I was vaping as well and have anxiety. All of this tied into it. I went to the ER a few days later b/c I was still lightheaded when something would spike my anxiety or I over exerted myself. I'm 31 so I'm close to age to you. I know how you feel man. It scared the shit out of me too. I'm actually off of video games by and large now and moving around. I think that anxiety, being sedentary, and DEHYDRATED from vaping and not drinking water are all factors dude. Take care of yourself. Be more active. Drink water. Improve your diet. That's what I'm doing and that's what it sounds like you're starting to do. I'm sorry that happened to you man. I think there comes a point when you gotta cut back on being inactive and get moving. I am sure you have come to this conclusion by now, but if not, go see a behavioral therapist. Anxiety/panic attacks signature is an impending sense of doom/dream and physical symptoms mimic that of a heart attack, and also manifest in other specific ways in individuals. Getting on anti-anxiety meds are a short term occasional fix, but cognitive behavioral therapy and talking through the phases/triggers/etc of these attacks are key to being able to rationally talk yourself down and out of them, and before you know it you will be able to say "Fuck it, just keep rolling." Take care brother

That is not how depression works. Sure, depression can be caused by something bad that happend to you but sometimes it is not, you are just sad all the time and you dont know why. In that sort of cases you can't just take control of your life and quit being a pussy. In that sort of cases you need to ask for help

Dood! You have paid your dues and towed the line through the hardships and kept true to your source material. I have grown to enjoy you and your channel over the years. I get my wow news and what’s going on through you and a few others now that I’m older and can’t play as much. I’m sure I’m not the only one that respects what you’ve done and are a true fan of your craft. It’s definitely ok to take a break and step back. You should always be able to take a break and go have “you” time. Its definitely better for the long game mentally. Keep up the great work!

Welcome to the world of anxiety attacks. That's what you had a year and a half ago (maybe longer). The sudden feeling of dread and mortality, thinking that you may very possibly die at this exact moment can be very enlightening and indeed makes you re-think your existence thus far. I used to have exact same attacks every night before going to sleep. Combined with sleep paralysis, it was a real terror. To the point where I was too scared to go to sleep. That was all anxiety, which is induced by stress. Whether it's straining your body with abnormal sleep routines, lack of exercise, unhealthy diet or the combination of all of them. I was dealing with this shit for well over 7 years before something finally changed and I learned to accept my own mortality, borderline not giving a fuck about it and the anxiety ceased to have any power over me. (Anxiety is always further boosted by any underlying thought of worry, e.g. oh my heart rate is so high, what can be wrong = instant anxiety levels rising). Just change something in your life. Go travel, go do something. You have made enough money to get a caretaker for your mom. But seriously, change the scenery just even for a while and try to gain some insight about yourself and what you really want in life (not what you think you may want). This comes from a guy who's traveled for 12 years and dealt with chronic depression and anxiety for a good portion of it, but somehow, traveling and living worry-free life has helped a LOT. Hope you'll do better.

I think the realisation of having his favourite game that he has sunk so much of his life into is dieing, it's almost like watching a best friend die slowly of cancer, something you had a connection with for so long is now dead and might never come back is enough to trigger an anxiety attack. I personally am going through this same process of grief due to loosing a good friend of mine, and although i am aware of the cause i can work on moving forward, but just imagine making that commitment of enjoying something and then having it taken away, not knowing what to do with your life anymore, its like going to your best friends house and he is never home he won't ever be home again. So you just wait, hope to find something else to do with your time and try to find joy and happiness again.

I mean this could totally be it.
@ProjectpvpProduction5 жыл бұрын
This is great, not that it happened but that you moved forward. Same thing happened to me minus the sleep paralysis thing, for months straight. Months of doctors visits later they determined it was probably a frame of mind. After accepting that it was indeed anxiety. Instead Of being on pharmaceuticals. I decided to change something being my diet and health. No more anxiety, change works. Realizing your mortality is a nice little awakening.
@monamoon32565 жыл бұрын
I also suffer from chronic depression+anxiety and what you describe sounds like a panic attack to me too. Hope you find what works for you!
@Antifuzz15 жыл бұрын
@Todd Kinner sure you could simplify and word anything to disregard it, im 100% sure its not specifically one issue that is causing his grief, like he said he feels responsible to take care of his mother, he wants an independent life but would feel terrible if he leaves his mother, it's a lot of things that build up, and when anxiety kicks in it can hit hard for no reason and you might have any idea why, its almost a subconscious response to a whole lot of little life stresses.

@@dylanh1797I agree it must be hard. I can"t believe how negative he is on wow. It is not THAT much worse..I have only seen the game evolve. Gamers in general seem depressed, I guess that is why they spend an insane amount of time in someone else's created world, this boi Asmongolf has basically lived in a fantasy land glued to a seat and has become his own worst enemy. He has to make himself happy first..not a video game ..HIM. I can only hope he does not let his negative thoughts consume him. You can walk away from a game but, when you make that game your life it is like walking away from a life. Scary that some think this is normal. Ready Player One was just a movie but it seems some live a version of that movie daily.

From what you said it could be that you had a panic attack. Your subconscious mind (that is reasonable for fight or flight actions) might have triggered it as a warning signal because you were acting against your gut feeling for a long time. I was having such symptoms as well. Basically felt like I am getting a heart attack. I changed some things in my life (removing stress factors) and now I am fine.

Feeling of dread? Yeah, that's anxiety, dude. I deal with that on a way too regular basis. Will just be chilling, having some fun, and suddenly feel like something awful is about to happen, like I'm about to have a heart attack, just a horrible feeling that's hard to describe. Probably not an "overdose." I'd keep an eye on that and potential triggers for it, and work to avoid them if possible. If it gets worse, might be worth talking to a doctor about that, if you're okay with the medicine (though depending on what triggers it, a therapist might be enough to help). Honestly, seeing the chat on your streams, I'd totally understand anxiety related to that. I was elated to see I could hide it in Twitch, and love that it's not visible in the Twitched "channel" on my Roku. I know that's not on you, you don't want to censor people or anything (unless they say something really horrible). It's just how people are sadly.
