I had installed my locs earlier this year, just around my city shut down... And like you, I notice the various sizes in my head as time passed... After three months, I took them out, this took a week and a half!!! I'm sooo happy to find your channel, as it is giving me inspiration to put them back in, but the right way... Thank you for this!!!

i was scared to even admit that i thought it but i think that one of the main reasons i haven’t gotten locs is bc i can’t imagine myself without my afro. and it’s so weird bc you can do pretty much everything that you’d do your natural hair with locs thanks to more people having knowledge about locs. i feel like i’d love them and people say they can imagine me w locs all the time, but i can already feel myself having an identity crisis and i haven’t even done so much as to get a consultation w a specialist. i think i’m going to keep playing around w my hair for a couple more years though, lol. sorry this is so long but i’ll end it by saying (once again) i love your energy!!

same here rachel. I want locs so bad, not micros, more like regular locs from wearing my two-strand twists because I like the look... but I too am afraid I will miss my Afro! And I like pressing my hair out when I want to with the hotcomb, lol. 4a/b fine. My curls always pop back same reason why Locs look messy on me in the first weeks, I just take em out.

nnaturalheaven * that seems like it would be so nice! i haven’t straightened my hair in at least seven years (just cause i don’t really like it) so there’s really nothing that i do on my natural hair that i couldn’t do w locs. my hair is 4b/4c thick so idk if my hair would react similarly to yours but then again our natural hair acts in such unexpected ways

I wondered about sisterlocks vs microlocs too. I learned that Sisterlocks is a brand and a trademarked process created by a black woman in the 90s. Only sisterlock consultants can do those bc it’s a specific grid and technique. Love your hair and your channel, just subbed! 🦁

I relate to this so much. I'm obsessed with having my locs exactly how I want them! I thought I wanted random parts because I didn't want that space-y scalp-y look , but in hindsight I think I would have preferred to have more structured parts because now that my locs are maturing I'm starting to see how different part sizes (even just a slight difference) is causing my locs to be various sizes. I'd be okay with that if the sizes weren't so drastic. The finest areas of my hair have the biggest locs so it causes my hair to lack fullness in certain areas which I hate because I was going for a really full Sisterlock look. I think more strategically placed parts instead of random ones help with getting more locs on your head too which is another thing I want. I plan to give these another year and I'll be combing them out and re-loc'ing. This is my second set and although I LOVE them and love being loc'ed they're not perfect.

I am new to your page. Your energy is inspiring!! I did loc extensions a few years ago, because I wanted to be in the mature stage and wanted to be able to wear updos. I'm not one who desires length, but volume. I did like them, but comes them out after 2 years. I started my loc journey again with micro two-strand twist and I am excited about this journey! I am happy that I am doing this with my own hair. My hair was/is shoulder length at the start of both journeys. I'm okay with not being able to do the updos that I could with the extensions, but I still rock funky updos with my micro locs 😊. I do believe this is the loc style for me🥰!

I installed locs back in April and undid them immediately. The first installation was interlocking and the person who did it did a bad job. The parts were uneven. Some large, some small. Not in line. So now i started them again in November with twists. I split some of the locs at the back this week. So now i am satisfied with the look i have the size and parting. I have even interlocked some of the roots. Will finish the rest on wednesday
