Why I was in the hospital

My mother, at 74 years old, went into the hospital with heart failure and double pnemonia and beat that, then went right inyo chemo and radiation for lung cancer, then beat that and has immunotherapy and this was 3 years ago and she is still kicking today...I might also add after all that, three bouts with diverticulitis where on two occasions she was septic.... I can hear her right now doing dishes in the kitchen. YOU CAN BEAT ANYTHING FELLA!! 👍🙏

I am a healthcare professional and the treatment of cancer is a whole new world than it was 10-15 years ago. I have seen many patients live a really long time with metastatic stage IV cancer. It is now managed as a chronic disease in many, many cases just like any other chronic disease. You hang in there, stay positive and know we are all praying for you. I do not subscribe to many KZbinrs but the first time I heard your voice and saw your video, I instantly knew you are a good guy and most importantly, genuine. I am a retired pharmacist and have been treated for cancer four times now. I am here to tell you that the outlook for most cancer patients is so much better than it used to be. One of my treatments was Retuximan, which in in the same area as what you had. Immunotherapy is the magic bullet we drempt about when I was in school. Your chances are so much better than it used to be. Hang in there.

My mom always stresses how important it was for her to spend time visualizing and meditating on beating the cancer. She said she would visualize little monsters going through her brain and eating up all the bad stuff that was cancerous. Thanks for sharing what you’re dealing with, because sometimes we forget that everyone is dealing with something; even though they may not show it. The important thing is HOW you deal with it, and the mindset needed to get through it. I almost died 2 years ago from a bacterial infection in my lung. I was in the hospital for 9 weeks and I had already accepted that I was going to die, and I made my peace with God. But God decided it wasn’t my time to go, and I made a miraculous recovery. So hang in there, because your channel has become such a gift to a lot of us. I wish nothing but the best for you going forward.

If it helps, I have lung cancer and I’ve been told I would be dead dozens of times, and was supposed to die the first time at 18months old. I’m 31. Haha Medical technology is great these days and you’re a strong guy, even stronger than I am! I look forward to many more years of your awesome food! My dad had melanoma, he followed through with his treatments and things got a lot better. Staying positive is easier said than done but stick with it.

Kevin, Thank You for sharing. I feel that so many people who say that they want to remain private about something like this, do not realize when you're a public figure such as yourself. You are actually helping people the importance of their health. People who ordinarily would not go to the doctor for certain aches and pains, but after seeing your video now may actually go to the doctor and have it checked out. You affect people's lives even if it's just making one of your recipes. The people that follow your channel do care about you. Whether you are a believer or not I am willing to say that there are hundreds of people praying for your recovery. And that happens because you were willing to share. I pray that the treatment works for you and that your doctors know what's best. Take care.

I'm so sorry to hear this!!! I truly wish the absolute best for you. You may (or may not) be surprised to hear this, but you make a difference with these videos. Late last year, I had a three month stay in the hospital with osteo-myelitis (bone infection) and sepsis (blood infection). I nearly died multiple times and dealt with intense pain and fear while staying hours away from my family for the first time in my life at 29 years old. They had me on extremely heavy antibiotics almost my entire stay, and they absolutely ripped my digestive system apart and was almost entirely unable to eat. I spent a lot of nights in the hospital scared and alone, unable to eat and trying not to throw up what very little was left in me. And then I happened across one of your KZbin shorts - I believe it was one of your hot sauce reviews, although I can't remember which one. I've always loved spicy foods, so I watched it and immediately got hooked. It was the first YT short I ever watched! But I started watching all of your videos and the most amazing thing happened... I started to get hungry!! And so for weeks on end I would watch your videos (and the videos of a couple of others) to get to the point where I could start to not only eat, but enjoy food again! Thanks to you, I didn't just sit in my lonely hospital room and waste away (I say that a bit jokingly - I had a lot of extra food stores on me, if you catch my drift). And more than that, your videos comforted me. Made me feel like I was just hanging out and cooking with a friend. Made those nights a whole lot more tolerable and helped me stay sane. So thank you, sincerely, for these videos. I hope you're able to manage your pain and continue on to live a long and fruitful life. Wishing you and your family all the best
