@@x666x34b one of the trends of the Left is to discourage nuclear families. It was one of the main tenets of the BLM riots of 2020, for instance. The DNC over-emphasizes the government's role in the life-cycle of a citizen over the role of traditional parenting. Public schools are now waging a war with parents over the instruction, care, and treatment of their children. Plato theorized in his work "The Republic" that in the "perfect city," children are removed from their mothers at birth, never knowingly meet their parents ever, and are raised by the government.

@@dquzmanovic Acctually, this is Bosnian medieval royal symbol. The meaning of Lilium Bosniacum in Latin is Bosnian lily. In my country Bosnia and Herzegovina it isn’t a symbol of Virgin Mary at all... as I explained it has different meaning.

Please don't prepare for war but train yourself (brian) to avoid one. Because, when war comes almost every one dies - warrior, gardener, garden...everything WILL be obliterated. And there is no honor after death. Hope you're not cligning on to that drama.

Kinda feel like, and you can do the research, that he’s just doing the thing he knows will piss people off to stay relevant. I do not want his face being prominent in the 2A movement. He is going to fuck this up.

@@Atlasowl His story of change sounds real to me. It mirrors what I've seen happen to others. Only time will tell if he is genuine, but I'm going to at least give the man a chance. If he's fraud, we'll know soon enough.

I’ve just come across this video, I was a deputy resigned and hung up my guns for over a decade and have come back to guns recently. I thought guns were pointless. I too see the error in my ways and Colorado is trying to take guns away right now.

@@gwarlow I always find it amusing when people use the age of an idea as an argument against its validity. I find it even more amusing that such types often have no issue with far older ideas than the ones they criticize as being outdated, such as art (roughly 30,000 years old), agriculture (at least 10,000 years old), canals (nearly as old as agriculture), animal domestication (again, perhaps as old as agriculture) civilization (over 5,000 years old), the written language (roughly 5000 years old), law (over 4000 years old), democracy (roughly 2600 years old (one of the great ironies displayed by so-called "progressives" is their fierce dedication to the preservation of one of the oldest political systems known to man), representative government (nearly as old as democracy), the university (over a thousand years old), the scientific method (several hundreds of years older than Jefferson's writings), basic arithmetic (untold thousands of years old), Euclidean geometry (nearly as old as democracy), Algebra (somewhere around a thousand years old), the alphabet (stretches all the way back to the ancient Phoenicians, likely over 3000 years old), citizen juries (nearly a thousand years old), the Gregorian Calendar (around a half of a millienium old), the English language (in its current form, nearly 500 years old), and so on.

I changed my views in 2008 when someone broke into our home while we were home. I never wanted to feel that helpless again. It took the police a long time to show up.

Interaction with police in an emergency is a very enlightening experience. I'm glad you were able to live to tell the tale. Not only do they take too long to show up a lot of the time, but when they arrive, sometimes they can range from being unhelpful to highly escalating the situation.

I was raised in a hick town in MA and then moved to CA and I met my wife there. When I met her she was appalled by the thought of even me owning a gun. Now we’re in Texas and we bought her first gun last month and I’ve been showing her how to shoot. We had a shootout in front of our home when we first moved here. She was incredibly nervous her first time. After that she was like “that’s it?” She thought it would be some horrifying painful experience. She loves it. She also likes the bit of peace it brings her.

As a Swiss citizen growing up in Switzerland, being a member of the Swiss armed forces and keeping a military rifle in my Swiss house, allow me to give you my opinion on this topic: the reason why we have very low crime rates in Switzerland is: 1. Everybody is educated 2. Nobody is economically suffering 3. Sons are trained by their (actual) fathers to respect the flag, the gun and only use it to defend the fatherland 4. Gun laws are in place, which get enforced (!). 5. Only some types of guns allowed, training and certification required 6. Stable political climate - nobody needs to fear a hostile takeover by the feds/gov 7. No gangs/mob present

I agree. I know a lot of his videos are satirical humor and that's why I love them, but this video let's me know he is a sentient human and not simply a parrot for a point of view, and I respect him for that.

I never grew up with any strong feelings either way with guns but after leaving the service and seeing the nonstop expansion of government powers at almost every level I could see the writing on the wall and decided to educate myself, that's when it became of critical importance to me

I became a first time gun owner in the last few years and the gun community have been very welcoming and helpful. My entire mindset was changed when I first bought and shot my gun, I went from being ignorant and skeptical to having respect and being educated. Everyone at the range and gun store were very nice and were more than happy to help me learn and stay safe. I would advise everyone that can to learn more about guns and arm their self.

I grew up in disarmed UK and thought Americans were strange to want guns (sorry!) This past 2 years I have learned so much about tyrannical governments, psyops, mass hypnosis, and what governments can do when the people can't defend themselves. I now have the utmost respect for the American constitution, the founders forefathers and the 2nd amendment.

I literally just finished watching the Heartbeat special where the Rowans went to their new home in Canada. It was clearly a wild west, anti-gun commentary, and it had me wondering what the UK policies are now. Do UK police carry guns now? With all the recent violence and unvetted immigrants pre-Brexit, you'd think that they would.

Within the context of internal affairs vs. foreign assault, I'd agree. But within the context of internal issues, I'm not loyal to the country or a government, they tend to be one and the same. Then you have to ask, which side of the country? The red side? The blue side? The green side? The yellow side? No. Instead I'm loyal to, and but to one thing, the ideals and principles set forth in and to, the Constitution. So much do, I swore my oath of service to it. (And promptly was forced to violate that under threat of harm, and treason, in the name of country, or, do as I was told, "for the good of the country")

Very well said MT! We need loyalty, honor and sense of purpose for the country to survive. But we should always keep in check the governments and individuals quest for power. The constitution is that guiding document. We must always defend these principles, no matter what the cost! Our government has the purpose of passing laws of society that only the majority of the people support, and those that remain in harmony with the constitution. They should not be allowed to stray from that simple purpose. Nor should a virus allow politicians to bypass or ignore these basic rights.

Twenty-plus years ago when our two children were toddlers, I awoke middle of the night and thought I heard an intruder downstairs. Long story short my now-ex-husband refused to go protect our children, whose bedroom was right at the top of the stairs. I had to go downstairs alone, armed with nothing but a sword I bought myself because said husband was terrified of and absolutely refused "dangerous" guns in the house. Thankfully it was nothing, but at that moment the question of whether or not my husband would protect his wife and children was no longer a hypothetical one. I now own 3 guns, practice regularly and am divorced.

That’s.......awesome! My wife and I heard a loud crash one night near our front door. Within seconds, I heard her chamber a round in her handgun while I was grabbing mine. She placed herself between the door and our kids’ bedrooms. I carefully cleared the area methodically with my pistol with attached Weapon Light, and there was nothing. I opened the entry closet and saw that a coat had fallen with its hangar in the closet and made the loud noise that alerted us. I was impressed at how quickly she acted, because that’s my bread and butter. She is very quiet and reserved, not someone you would ever guess is as prepared. We both grew up in families where firearms were just another tool to have around and respect, nothing that anyone would thunk twice about back then.

Semantics. Call it natural, call it granted, it's functionally the same. The people trying to figure out how to take them away don't care, and they certainly aren't going to be swayed by anyone insisting on this distinction. At this point in the game, it's just echo chamber stuff that we tell ourselves for our own satisfaction.

Another thought - in World War Two, the Japanese army wanted to invade the U.S. West Coast. Their own admiral Yamamoto warned: "Don't. There is a rifle behind every blade of grass." After a little study, they concluded he was correct, and scrapped plans for an invasion. He warned their navy against the Pearl Harbor attack, also. They didn't listen.

Exactly. Governments do NOT have any rights, what-so-ever. The people grant them revocable privilege's. Jefferson made this point over 2 centuries ago. In fact, the 18th Amendment was illegal (any Amendment that restricts the people is illegal, even if Congress voted it in!) and should have been shot down immediately after the idea was introduced. The US Constitution is SUPPOSED to be rules that the people grant the govt, not the other way around. Amazing how this has been twisted around by weak minded, power hungry, and impotent "leaders" of today.

@@dannilikesreviews the government is made up of people too. particularly malicious psychopaths at the moment. you will never see kind-hearted philanthropists in positions of power. psychopaths are not afraid, so the government is not afraid. a basically healthy but particularly greedy person who is very rich protects his status as best he can because he is afraid or at least worried about losing it. greed, envy and resentment also lead to inhuman behavior, but the psychopaths who are currently pulling the strings are a completely different matter.

It's a bunch of propaganda from the manufacturers. The 2nd amendment is what allows the national guard to be armed. The 2nd amendment is used as an excuse to block regulation. The individual right to keep and bear firearms was created by the courts, but somehow that's ok, but not right to abortion.

I am a firearms owner in Australia. I completely agree with what you said about Australia. I witnessed tyrannical behaviour first hand… they even banned sling shots and BB guns… Trying to make sense as to why they banned a non lethal toy, is beyond me. Gives me brain cancer when I think about it for too long. When I discuss firearms control and mass shootings, I get called crazy, for stating the facts you mentioned. It’s not easy to get firearms in Australia, lots of hoops to jump though. To my American friends, by any means necessary, STAY ARMED. Cheers and stay alert. From a based Gen Z Aussie. (We are a dying breed).

Tyranny? Mate. I'm happy the likelihood of an assailant drawing a firearm is much lower than in the US. It's annoying to have to have so many regulations, but I think Australia draws the line pretty well between freedom and security. China has taken it too far into oppression and security, and America is too far into Freedom.

Happy to have a civil debate, KZbin is not the place I know, but I’ll put in effort to not post ego comments. (Just commenting to look cool and smart) I am very into firearms, you’ll probably not believe that, but the damage that firearms can inflict outweighs the freedom to have them in Australia. @@bodycamfiles1 hot take: all school shooters are criminals. Most are minors WHO legally can’t purchase a gun and steal them from their parents. Also, most states have schools as “gun free zones” meaning no one else is armed and they are the same places that don’t have security…. There is only one 1 school shooting ever in my area (kid shot a girl who rejected him and killed himself), but a school police officer got to the suspect in 30 seconds from the shooting. The officer was armed of course. I live in a pro gun county as well so that helps. Do we have a crime problem? Yeah but it’s not the guns it’s the gang violence and mostly drug trade. Where my original point goes, criminals will be criminals, you shouldn’t punish citizens. When did a government EVER give people more gun rights? Once it’s gone, it’s gone forever. I look at life as getting everything perfect for the next generation. I plan on passing down the 2A to my kids and teach them the history of why we have it and need it. Edit: I just wanted to add that gun crime in America is over inflated to spread propaganda. A “school shooting” doesn’t have to be inside a school. For example, if a school is in the hood and there’s a shootout on a street behind a school, thats considered a school shooting. As well as inflated numbers, I think 2/3s of the gun deaths are suicides. On top of that out of the 12k gun deaths a year from murders, there’s over an estimated 400,000 ~ defensive uses of firearms in the U.S.. you won’t hear about it often unless the story is crazy enough to gain traction. There’s tons of times where someone is carrying a gun, legal or illegally, and just flashing a gun can deescalate a situation (you should never flash a gun unless you plan on using it. Someone else will be faster to the draw if they are armed). Edit 2: also, most schools implemented a dead switch door to stop people from walking into the school. The trans school shooter recently actually shot the glass out of the deadswitch door and just climbed through it. If a school shooter is a student, they basically bypass the entire security system dedicated to stopping crime. Some inner city schools implemented metal detectors where students walk in, but some leftists claimed it was racist since it was the inner cities and felt like a prison… those are the same people that don’t want to pay police more money to hire officers for schools… you can’t make everyone happy, but there are ways to reduce school shootings without outlawing Guns off emotions

That isn't the only thing to change mind about. There are wealthy and politicians in Europe now trying to create a new world order where we have no say, worldwide. While they pollute and hold us accountable and penalize us, but will continue their rich , extravegent ,etc ways. Many of them have made money off gas, plastic, batteries( the latest being lithium,etc) cellphones, etc that they keep making us upgrade, etc. Besides many other junk because we can't repair them that's affordable or otherwise, and more. The list goes on. They polluted because they were greedy,and convinced many of us or we had no choice( got rid of Ma Bell and other things that we actually didn't pay excessively for like cell phones etc technology has caused the worst pollution crisis. And they could have and their predecessor created more sustainable etc things years ago,but they wanted to make their generational money as long as they could. Now they want to further oppress us by making us suffer for what they did and all the corrupt politicians etc did as well It's not about gun violence it's about future control, it's always been that agenda.

My near 70yr old Mother just told me tonight that there is ZERO reasons Anybody should have a hand Gun and she doesn't want to hear about needing it for protection because how often does anybody get their house broken in to. Keep in mind my brother and I as kids were home alone when our house got broken into. I was 10 and my brother was 12. She then told me you can't shoot somebody just for taking your property. It sucks that things are the way they are in America rite now. Frankly I wish You never had to change your stance on Guns. But the World seems to be full of a lot of Shitty Evil people and when those people hit their point of Rage, it doesn't matter if they can't get their hands on a AR-15 or a Henry Riffle. Guns run out of bullets A Lot Faster than a Car runs out of Gas. It's really not hard to make explosive devises. We need Rage Control much more than we need more Gun Control rite now in America.

I'm a new gun owner, too for all the reasons above. Additionally, I trained martial arts for 14 years which I had to use living abroad. That was nant yrs ago and no broken back. So, had to learn to defend myself differently. I have gone through and still going through training with Take Charge in AZ. Teri is an excellent trainer. I also go to the range 3-4x/mo.

The thing that stood out most to me in this video is the fact that JP says the reason he changed his thinking was that he now has a family. A family. It has long been predicted that the breakdown of the family would undermine entire societies. When you see that the connection between having a family and being a father and husband is directly related to protecting the rights of free citizens, you start to see the whole picture clearly.

Never cared to own a gun, never minded others owning but never felt the need myself. I'm not a hunter and haven't a real concern about home invasion. Then our government implemented lockdowns and private business closed in the name of protection. That was a wake up call about just how rapidly things change. I am now a gun owner.

It was not even being subtle. Recently I watched a Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman episode where she convinced the sheriff of Colorado Springs to not only not carry, but confiscate guns as people came into town. Finally I realize how idiotic that would be. The media has been putting other ideas into my head as well. I'm off of it.

I grew up in a heavy hunting area, so I was always around responsible gun owners. Learned trigger discipline, barrel control, etc... before middle school with a BB gun. Even then, a number of my friends who did the same are now brainwashed to be terrified by the media. Guys who were carrying hunting rifles alone in the woods in their teens are now desperate to have them taken from them... Media is a powerful thing.

@David Wang Openly apologizing and admitting you're wrong isn't the only way to garner respect...but you had to drag Donald Trump into this... so I have to ask...what do you mean? As a person or as a President? I can respect the nerve it took to say some of the things he said, agree or disagree it took some balls. Same can be said about the things he's done as well. It was refreshing to see someone go off script and be human, and less a stuck up suit. I said it during his presidency, you dont have to be a good person to do a good job, shit, history is slathered in drunk bigots full of every sort of inappropriateness imaginable, but we worship them as cultural icons and artists and call them legends of their craft. I don't really have an accurate opinion of Trump to be honest, I hardly followed what was said about him, or who said it, or what he was saying. All I can give is insight based off of observations of the things I did see. I've never read about anyone who has ever rallied their own opponents as well as he did, I've never seen or heard about a world leader who has ever done that either. Also in his 4 years, I went from making 25k a year to over 50k a year. So regardless of his opinions I cant complain about his work. But i also dont speak from a prejudice either, and can look at things objectively and value the constitutional rights we have as Americans, and say if he doesn't like something, he has every right not to for any reason he wants to, he certainly never tried to silence or take away anyone else's rights, and he was in quite the position to do so, I mean president of the United States is a pretty big job, leader of the free world and all. Which is why I am so disappointed and disgusted with liberals, as the censorship and "cancel culture" thinks if someone says anything they don't agree with, they do everything in their power to shut them down, from swatting independent reporters and streamers, to just blatant bias appropriation. And that goes beyond just having an opinion on a matter, that's called taking away someone's civil rights. And if you take anything from this response to your comment, take this...if you've got time to lean, then you've got time to clean, and that's the problem with politics now a days, everyone is so worried about leaning, that they have forgotten to clean. From the top of the government to the bottom of the lower class, no one is getting any real work done. They are so busy worrying about which way they are seen leaning, things have gone to shit.

I would say to migrate to America my friends but I'm not sure how it's going to be any better here too soon, with all our issues... but at least we do still have freedom for now. It's hard for many people to admit they were wrong in private. It is exceedingly difficult for most people to admit they were wrong publicly. You're a bigger man than most JP, and you should be proud of yourself for having the courage to admit on KZbin that, after doing your homework, you were wrong in the past. But in doing so, you have paved the way for yourself to move forward into the future, better equipped with the knowledge you have obtained, and the fact that you're trying to share that knowledge with others so they can do the same, is a wonderful lesson to the rest of us. Many people see short sighted businesses that prey on their customers as capitalism, but in a *free* market those entities will fail to compete. The problem is corruption leading to control and monopolies, which is not capitalism but a form of authoritarianism. If the market is not free, it's not capitalism. Capitolism relies on choice, i.e. consent.

I am Polish, I live in Poland. Up until recently I haven't had any strong opinions about guns, I always thought of them as tools of though times. However I enjoyed watching channels like FPSRussia back when it was still a thing or Mythbusters when they had episodes with guns. In 2019 close to all I knew about guns I got from games. Which is not a lot since the game developers know just as little about them. Back then I would see no difference between AKM and AK-74, or between an M4 and an AR-15. Then the 2020 came with the worldwide propaganda and once it got here within the first 2 weeks I realized that it is all planned and man-made. I watched countries like Australia, Canada, China, Vietnam, Germany just stomp on their citizens with all resources they got and it made me realize how much the regular citizens need an equalizer. It was really alarming to watch and learn that people working for various government have no moral spine and they will brutalize women, children, elderly and disabled, detain people indefinitely just by association with someone, exterminate people's pets, weld exit doors in apartment buildings, freeze money on accounts of those who protest or help the protesters, use pepper spray backpacks that looked like flamethrowers, run people over with horses, get people out of their homes to give them an injection by force, refuse healthcare to people who will die without it, ban family from saying goodbye to dying family members. We've seen it all. This spiked my interest in guns and I started learning about them. I rediscovered a channel I have accidentally seen long time before from a Polish KZbinr who talked about guns, going to a range and gun laws. In 2020 I went to a range for the first time, then three more times in 2021. In 2022 I made two different gun permits (for sport and for collecting) and I got a license that allows using guns that are registered to a business. I even went to a dynamic shooting competition twice, and it is the most fun I had with firearms ever. Unfortunately in the meantime the Russo-Ukrainian war started and the prices everything just doubled and I also used a lot of money to rebuild my car. So while waiting for the market to calm down I decided to go on a range officer course to help family or friends get into guns if they show interest. And I have passed, so I am a range officer now. I just hope for the firearms supply to catch up with the demand a little bit, because right now it kinda feels like the graphic card market back in 2021.

The past 2 years haven't changed my stance on guns - they've confirmed it. Back in high school for English class we were given a list of topics to write about, and mine was the very open ended topic: Gun Control. That was the entire prompt, and I had to write 2 pages on it. So down the rabbit hole I went, expecting to find a myriad of reasons and statistics that favored giving them up. What I found instead were statistics about robbery, r**e, and murders (with other instruments) going up in countries that had banned them. What I found was that crime against the elderly increases, because the elderly can no longer shoot perpetrators of said crimes. Suicide rates stay the same, those people just find another method. And when we look at the macro picture, well above local crime and at crime committed by the governments against their own people it becomes apparent that government is the singular most destructive force known to mankind. Government first steals guns from the people, then turn their own guns inward on their own populace to force compliance. The only difference between now and then, is back then I legitimately thought it could never happen *here.* I thought we were too well educated for our population to start simping for a tyrannical form of government, like Communism. Looking at the West Coast, it seems that I have vastly overestimated the quality of education received in some parts of the country. We really are just a single generation from losing our rights and freedoms at any given point in history, and the last 2 years have made that crystal clear.

Great comments. As for not happening here, Reagan said it best: “Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn't pass it to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same, or one day we will spend our sunset years telling our children and our children's children what it was once like in the United States where men were free.” Regarding your commentary on increased crime, this is why gun control advocates always talk about "gun crime" instead of "violent crime" in general. They are attempting to hide that violent crime usually increases with the removal of guns from law abiding citizens. Lowering the risk for criminals self-evidently leads to more crime and more crime victims. Guns are a force equalizer. When arguing with gun control lunatics it should always be mentioned that they are attempting to make the weak more prone to victimization as you'd be removing their only real means of equalizing force. It also helps to ask them to lead by example and post "Gun Free Zone" signs on their homes/front doors/windows. Removing the risk of a criminal finding a gun behind door #1 increases the likelihood that they will take the gamble of a home invasion.

The US has the highest levels of gun ownership and that has done nothing for reducing gun violence. It has far higher levels of gun crime than virtually every nation on earth. So i don't know where you're getting this information that less guns equals more gun crime and vice versa.

Living in Canada, I never gave guns a second thought. I remember seeing a pistol in my husband’s hands one day about a decade ago and it creeped me out. Since living under JT’s rule, I’ve come to respect your Constitution and how your forefathers protected you. I wish your kids understood what a treasure that document is. The plan is to have a militia and every red State and every red County under the authority of the County Government making it impossible for the feds to stop it because sub political divisions are exempt from all gun control laws and can have any type of weapons or forces they really want. It goes back to the colonial times. I'm just going to take advantage of that.

I'm pleased to see I'm not the only one who was sadly mistaken in my past attitudes. I was very much a 'reasonable gun laws' mindset, and while I understood why our founders created the laws as they did, always assumed they were just uneducated and stuck in their time. A lifelong love of history has taught me they were far more educated and capable of critical thought than our present so called leaders, and more devoted to my wellbeing today than our present political structure. Great job, just gained a new subscriber, always wiling to hear what someone willing to evolve has to say.

JP, Changing your opinion is part of growing. It's a part of expanding our knowledge and getting older. There is an old adage: " Knowledge without Wisdom is stupidity. " This just shows that not only are you getting older, but you're expanding your knowledge base and growing wiser. I haven't always agreed with your opinions, but I do enjoy listening to your opinions and following your logic. Congratulations on getting married. Remember, teaching gun safety as a gun owner is the number one responsibility we have. I grew up in a home with a father that hung his Service Revolver on the bedroom door. He taught me to respect guns at an early age. My own children grew up in a home with guns that were never locked up. I started teaching the gun safety at a very early age. My grandchildren are being taught the same way. 4 generations into this and not an accident yet. The key is not hiding away something you don't want someone to have, but teaching them about it. Showing them why it's right or wrong to utilize it and to respect what is right and wrong. Somewhere along the way it seems that people are losing the ability for critical thinking. To have an actual opinion of their own. To not just accept the easy way of going along, but to actually look into a subject matter and study it Before forming an opinion. But I digress. You can't protect yourself from the government with a gun(against missiles, jet fighters, tanks, etc), only with democracy. Democracy is the only way to get rid of bad politicians. Democracy is a gamble, but at least you can kick them out if they are bad. You can't do that with a gun, because the government always has the bigger more powerful "gun". Just look at Syria. For how long have multiple militias been tying to get rid of Assad with guns? How are they doing? Syria is the example of what your country will look like if you use the "gun" to "change" your government. If you give up democracy for the gun, you end up with neither, only the collapse of the economy, family members dead, and foreign countries interfering/taking over. Great Success!!!

@@Metal0sopher You miss one very important point, which is why your argument holds no water, the US founding fathers thought about what you are thinking and wrote provisions into the constitution not allowing the armed branches to operate on our own soil. Yes we have bases in the US, but how many soldiers have you seen on the street? National guard is all you ever here about being deployed. That's because the army, navy, air force and marines can not be. So without all those forces, a gun can defend and cause change. No one said you need it to kill, merely defend against tyranny.

One of the establishments greatest victories is this notion that theres only two choices for every topic. For example: You either support trans in your kids bathroom or you hate trans. Never any mention of a third bathroom where everyone could be safe. I think you could easily include more black perspective of history in school with little pushback. Its the debasing of that white sitting beside you today that causes a problem. How come these alternatives arent discussed? Instead they create these narratives and try to tell us we're either/or. Im just a gun owning moron myself, but this looks a lot like Frankfurt School's 'critical theory' in action. Natural relationships and processes must be destroyed so that chaos can unsue and a new solution can be foist upon us.

I even wondered if I completely misunderstood the video! I would say that deep down I thought that JP would come around to at least gaining a clearer understanding of why people really own guns. Especially when the current administration has completely lost their ever-loving marbles. I appreciate his thoughts and insight and like you said, I wasn’t ready to write him off because of that. I cant remember not having guns.. everyone with a pickup had a rifle rack and at least one gun if not two and one on the hip..peace everyone!

When I first got into guns I didn’t realize I would be even more into protecting rights and standing for our freedoms. Seems like I care more about those things than I do about actually carrying full time or becoming a better at skills myself.

My wife and I have been having this exact discussion about evolving from anti-gun to very much pro-gun. For the EXACT reasons you mentioned in your video. Side note: bravo for publicly admitting your past mistakes - most people don’t have the balls

You’re right about everything you just said. Being someone who grew up around guns I can tell you from personal experience firearm safety is and should always be the number one priority, my father instilled it in me religiously, things like treating every gun as if it’s loaded, never under any circumstance point a gun at something you don’t want to shoot and the list goes on. Bad people set on doing terrible things will always do them so trying to take away peoples guns is beyond naïve, there wasn’t a single terrorist on 9/11 that had a gun yet how many people died that day? I’ve been saying the same thing for years about the 2nd amendment, the founding fathers didn’t put it 2nd so that we could protect ourselves from somebody breaking into our house or to hunt. They put it in for a far more important reason, like you said it’s so that a tyrannical government would be less inclined to attempt to take away our freedoms. They also put it second because they found it that important. Those who argue about the types of weapons and say that they meant muskets they didn’t, the Bill of Rights in the constitution is extremely implicit about everything and they didn’t say muskets because they knew firearms would evolve which they have, and they knew that people would need to be able to obtain these evolved firearms in order to maintain the checks and balances between them and the government the founding fathers found so important. Obviously laws like the background check is a good thing because there are people out there that shouldn’t own firearms and the majority of firearm owners agree with those laws. Personally I don’t see how the right to bear arms could ever be taken away because it’s in the bill of rights, the bill of rights are inalienable rights that every citizen has, the founding fathers believed those right transcended government and were granted by a higher power. For what it’s worth of JP I always liked your content and agreed with 99% of what you said but it takes a lot for me to admit that I respect someone I don’t know personally but with this video you just earned my respect for what it’s worth. It takes a wise man to admit they were wrong and publicly change their stance especially on social media platforms with a large following like you have on a hot button issue like this. You are obviously a very knowledgeable individual but there’s a difference between being knowledgeable and being wise, there’s a lot of people out who are knowledgeable but very few that are actually wise and in my opinion you are one of them. My hats off to you sir, Bravo, bravo!!

So I was from NY was very anti-gun. Move to the south and thought it was crazy that almost everyone had guns. Even fought with my wife when she moved in with her firearm, of course, being from New York, I gave her all of this statistics. We’re more likely to shoot one another, It’s dangerous blah blah blah. I said ignorantly why do you need a gun you have me. She replied with, what if the intruder has a gun. Again ignorant as I was, that’s not gonna happen, I said. Yeah well it did several times in my area to others, and realize her safety is my responsibility and for lack of better words it was time to man up! So I educated myself and train at least twice a month. I am still criticized by family and friends, living in New York. Just writing you to tell you I have a similar story and thank you for making this video.

I never saw myself buying a gun. I wasn't *against* guns. I just didn't see myself ever owning one... and then 2020 happened. And it dawned on me that if only the police and criminals had guns, then we'd be completely dependent on one, and completely at the mercy of the other. And that's just not acceptable. One's been in my nightstand ever since. I sleep easier. And I feel nowhere near as vulnerable. It's true that I'll most likely never have a break-in, and will never have to use it (which I very much hope is the case!). But *if* something does happen... I'm no longer defenseless.

I'v grown up with guns, started shooting when I was five with my dad (he would load one round in a .22lr pistol, and would hold around my hands when I took the shot.) I truly do hope my guns stay as "range toys" but try to practice enough that if god forbid I ever needed it, I would be able to use it correctly, safely and quickly to give me at least a chance of defending my life. It's great to see more gun owners, I do say though that you really should practice as much as you can afford too, and take classes if you can. The more you practice, the better you will be off if you ever are in the situation where the worst happens.

@@3CODKing I try, but I won't know how I will really do until that happens. I have gotten into medical, I am getting into backpack camping and I enjoy playing airsoft, which means I have a dual reason to buy gear (I'v been playing while wearing real plates to get used to them lol.. I have also based my airsoft guns off of my real ones.) I hope that all of these things will basically be un needed and the emergency rations I own will just be semi expensive and odd snacks when they expire, the plates in my armor being just expensive weights, but with how things are looking, i'm not too sure tbh.

I think the jist here, is to take the time to take a training course over a weekend sometime. A firearm can be dangerous to it's user, if they don't have at least basic training. I've seen it happen. As firearm owners, I think it's our duty to Help educate our fellow owners and make sure they are trained, so we can function as a unit and be equally a part of keeping crime and violence, out of our neighborhood and other society. We can do that together.

Your right, many tend to forget in Minneapolis when the police were defunded and the people were left on their own. City Council members had their own private security.

This time around, they used fear and fearful people to get folks to voluntarily take something that will potentially help exterminate them. Less shots fired and folks are often none the wiser
