I'm not sure what the real issue was, but I have both and they both hold ice very well. I put ice packs and ice in both of them last Sunday and finally removed the remaining drinks and ice yesterday (Friday). The ice packs were still mostly frozen. RTIC is half the price of Yeti and Yeti just reduced the prices on their Tundras because of the boycott by NRA members. RTIC is every bit as good as Yeti.

Hi James. I was very optimistic about RTIC because I own some of their other products. I’m sure your RTIC cooler and many other were perfectly fine but there are also many that aren’t . It’s a gamble to get one in good condition because they are shipped directly from China and not quality control checked (as their representative told me). I’m glad to hear that yours is performing well though. I wish mine arrived in good condition but it was a wreck. Thank you for the feedback!

If you received a lemon, RTIC will replace it for you. At one time, a few were coming through that were not up to their standards. They seem to have resolved that issue. As I had mentioned, I have both and both are excellent. The RTIC is half the price of a Yeti. Take care.

Of course I did, thats what the whole video is about my man. I own many rtic products but never owned the large cooler. I purchased it and it was a train wreck. Like I said, I'm sure all of the rtic fans will hate this video but it is what it is. Had my cooler arrived at my door in good condition (As a new product should) I would have never had to buy the yeti and send the rtic back. As stated in the video, mine leaked and literally had holes in it. The company needs better quality control

OK, where are the pictures of the Rtic 45 that you have issues with? I've got an Rtic 20, 45 and 65. All three arrived via UPS within two weeks and in perfect condition. I'll put their performance up against a comparable Yeti product anyday. The only issue that I have with Rtic is their inability to maintain accessory stock. Constantly out and customer service gives you the same " four weeks, three months, blah,blah " answer month after month.

I had the same issue with rtic twice. I now own 4 yeti’s 110qt, 105qt, 50qt and a 20qt the 20qt is a hopper And sucks but the three tundras rock.

I completely understand your skepticism. In full honesty I only made this video to inform people about my experience, which is why my video is titled "Why I switched from rtic to yeti" and not "Why you should switch from rtic to yeti". Everyone is free to believe what they want but as you can see, I am a very small channel and I am not paid to say any of this and even if this video got 500,000 views, I still could not make money off of it so I truly have no benefit from complaining. This is what I experienced any I just wanted to let other potential buyers know what I encountered. I appreciate your feedback and if I ever make a video like this again, I will be sure to include pictures at the end.

Havnt seen any problems with rtic. I love both but if you think a yeti is really worth paying upwards of $500 for your nuts. I rather pay half that or a 1/3 of that for a rtic. Just cuz you got a bad rtic with defect doesnt mean they are all bad. Ive seen plenty of yeti coolers have awful defects.

My RTIC coolers is 2 years old and it still rocks!! Im aound to buy the RTIC 52qt next. I used to hual for YETI and got the 65qt tundra and a year later it suck!! It started to wrap on the sides i called customer service Andy told me that it's been a year that I couldn't get it replaced with the new one they told me that putting a strap over it would help it! are you kidding me?? I spend $350 on a cooler and they told me that. I even send them pics and they said that i must of sat it in my pick up for so long. I told them well it a cooler and that's where it's going to be in the back of my pickup. I own several RTIC, Grizzly, and YETI coolers. I also have had 0 of the same issues this video describes with the RTIC and actually in a series of tests, I can’t see anything that yeti did that rtic didn’t do to the same standard. And since my rtic doesn’t leak when flipped around or turned on it’s side and my yeti does, the edge goes to the RTIC, especially since it’s not as expensive. If weight is a concern, go with grizzly. They are much lighter than the others and still great coolers.

If I was in your situation and I got a lemon I would just send it back and get one that was in good condition, RTIC still makes a great cooler when they get it right and most people wouldn’t want to fork out 200 more dollars for a cooler that holds ice just as long. The reason for the price difference? Branding. There are countless articles on this, yeti hired some master marketers and now the hype backs up the outrageous prices and more outrageous profit margins in comparison to RTIC. While yeti may make a bit of a prettier cooler and have a bit better QC, to the average joe, it’s just not worth the crazy price.

My Rtic 52 lightweight drain plugs leak on both sides. I’ve adjusted them and have seated them just right and now one is sealed and one just barely leaks. It’s super annoying.

This is one of the reasons I went with an rtic but to be fair, but I also don’t see me flipping my cooler very often lol. I got the rtic lightweight - less weight, more volume. Drain plugs attached to the cooler. Handles are hard rubber (I think this is an update). The latches don’t fall dow (never had a different cooler so that’s only based on a review). Price obviously. Rand low key, I like the rtic logo better than yeti. With that said though, I’m going to be buying a yeti soft cooler because of the zipper on the rtic needs lube every year. Each brands has their pros and cons but this guy sounds like he got a prototype or it’s complete bs. Also, just a note, fedex was nice enough to drop my first cooler shipped to me over a side security gate (10-12 feet drop) and broke the cooler. They responded after hours with and RMA, free shipping back and I ordered a new cooler that night which came 1 day earlier than expected. Still waiting for the refund to post on the first cooler but overall I couldn’t imagine a better customer service experience. Used my cooler the first time 2 days ago, out a 3 or 5 lb bag of ice (can’t remember which I got) on one side and I’m still waiting for the ice to melt - if it wasn’t my first time using it I wouldn’t have dumped it but I just wanted to see it in action.

If you got a marked up, scratched up, cooler with blobs of plastic, hand cut marks, etc., that sounds like a counterfeit cooler--or one that should be returned ASAP as defective. While minor QC issues aren't great but can happen, what you're talking about are issues to bad that nobody would by such a product--and RTIC has been in business for years. Thus, there's no way they can be selling products like that regularly. Since you provided no pictures or proof, it lends a strong amount of distrust for your review (it sounds like a "paid placement" ad by Yeti).

I'm a YETI guy for life. I own a Tundra 35 and 75, Loadout Bucket fully loaded and several Ramblers in 20oz and 30oz. I did look at other brands but since the savings aren't make or break, I stuck with the original King of coolers. I'm definitely going to be buying more YETI products in the future.

For those of you that don’t know, the ppl that own Rtic used to be with Yeti, they left Yeti (engineers) and went down the street and started Rtic. Google it. If you know how to precool a cooler and pack it properly with a cooler blanket you can bring a cheaper cooler up to Yeti standards.

Problem here is that this is not so much a compare and contrast review. You switched because of the delivery of your RTIC cooler was horrible. (This is my understanding from your video) This is not a convincing argument to go from RTIC to YETI. What about the people who have had a horrible YETI cooler delivered to their home. (Which has happened) Should the people who received a bad YETI make a video warning others to not buy a YETI? If they wanted to then they can. Like you have. But it's neither a solid nor sound argument. As for the quality inspection of RTIC ... I can not say much about it. I live in Houston where RTIC has a retail store and Warehouse established here. I can just walk in the store and inspect what they have on the floor and buy it if I wanted to. Just an upside of having a retail store where you live. Lucky me. I'm an outdoors man myself. Fishing, camping, hunting, and off-roading. My RTIC 145 holds up to it all. Even on the back of the truck. It just sounds like you are part of the group who received a bad cooler. Which is a shame. But bad coolers will be found in any brand of company. In the end, the title justifies the content in the video. It is why YOU switched. If anything, thank you for sharing your personal experience.
