Why i went with Haltech elite over Holley efi on my Mustang

some very basic reasons why i went with Haltech over Holley! Both are great systems Both can accomplish the same goals! Fueltech and motec are another great option as well , just download the software from each company and play around with them , see what is easy for you to navigate!

Again both ecus will do great both are very capable!

36-1 crank trigger wheel was what I was trying get out but every engine is different!

Happy to see this video pop up for me, definitely loveee Haltech over Holley EFI, but like you said, there is wayyy more local support for Holley since most of the modular/ls crowd use it over the 'Exotic' type ECU's!

Very informative.. great breakdown of each pro vs con on each brand system and why they are placed in such category.. going haltech! (Was planning anyways)

I looked into haltech. But then I realized I would need the $4000 nexus to control a electronic transmission. But a few things you said they both do, they just have different approaches.

I control a 4speed auto and v8 with an elite 2000, no nexus required

Which haltech elite do you have and so you like haltech elite vs all of Holley ecu's like the terminator x and the HP?

@@yojithecarguy I like Haltech over Holley , however go with what is most popular in your area with good support! Majority of people I know are on Holley, so support is typically better on that platform from a help stand point outside of the companies help.

@@Wilsonandcars well the haltech elite 2500 has more inputs and outputs than the Holley terminator x and the Holley HP

@@yojithecarguy yes if you need the extra I/O the elite 2500 is a winner over the HP for sure. I didn’t see you mentioned the Terminator x, stay away from that ECU. On Holley side HP or Dominator is all I suggest from them. The other selling point for me on the Haltech was the software is nicer to navigate.

Interesting. After tuning a few different ECU flavors IE Holley, MaxxECU, FuelTech, FAST and AEM (all on motorcycles = ZERO Base tunes available) I prefer Holley for it's overall ease of use... I 100% agree with downloading and looking at the different software(s) and that what's most important (if your new to EFI) is availability of localized tuning/help for whatever ECU you choose to run (all though I have tuned more bikes remotely than hands on). The one thing I do wish Holley had is more/better diagnoses but the System Logging shows Crank and Cam Signals (or lack of if there is an issue). The only thing I disagree with here is you can have (and switch to) multiple tunes with Holley without a computer (IE activate different Timing Tables) via switch, whether it be with toggle switches or a virtual switch in the Holley Dash...

You can do the same with a haltech. I believe you can have up to 5 or 6 different tunes that you can change on the fly

What the hell is tuning lamda?

Lambda is the global standard for air fuel ratios. Instead of different a/f ranges for different fuel types, lambda is always the same. Stoichiometric is always 1. Rich is less than 1, lean is more than 1. Easy peazy. It’s much easier to tune on lambda, especially if you’re using different fuel maps or flex fuel.
