there was a little shade by the prolific use of the word "professional" which I inferred was to suggest showing up to a session with the 60d, would somehow reflect poorly on the creative showing up in front of their clients. I have found that most clients who aren't in the industry are entirely clueless about light, and their eyes glaze over should you try to discuss color temp and so forth, I use the Godox SL60W for my studio shoots, but would strongly consider the 60D for onsite work for clients, particularly due to the V-mount. I love my Godox lighting environment so it's not a question of quality, but rather about form factor. For a small cost, my form factor doesn't require cords and can benefit from a very robust third market of Vmounted battery packs. I'm pretty sure the Godox would likewise work, but I daresay, Godox was originally purchased by me for professional output that wasn't 5 times the cost of a prophoto or westcott. Still, I wanted to hear what you found to be the deciding reason about not switching, what I came away with was "I already have a light" past that, all of it it was a variation on that theme.

Probably wasn't clear but I used "professional" pointing toward durability than how it would look to a client. If that was what you inferred, that was not my intention. Yes, I already have similar lights and although I considered purchasing the 60d as I pointed out in the video I really didn't like the design as compared to the Godox and the battery mounting system was a bit awkward for my tastes. Thanks for watching the video and for your comment!

Do you need the app to use the Amaran 60d? I heard you have to update the firmware upon arrival, but I’d like to not to have to use my phone to use my light. Seems a bit ridiculous.
@IsomPhilips Жыл бұрын
No, you don't have to use the app. Aputure offers the Sidus Link app to control many of their lights which allows you to control the light remotely and I believe it's the only way you can access different effects. Depending on how you use the light manual control works if you don't need the added convenience of remote control. I get what you're saying though. I prefer a physical remote to using an app.

Great points...not sure if I agree with everything, but great content! Keep it going!!!

Thanks, not sure if I agree with everything either, mostly just highlighting the differences. I love my Godox lights so I'm a little biased. Thanks for your comment and thanks for watching!

60d s now has a super high ssi. Very impressive sunlight reproduction. Also, not 269 anymore.

AMARAN 60D WITH V MOUNT BATTERY IS VERY USEFUL , AND THE AMARAN 60D CAN HOLD BY THE LIGHT STAND MOUNTING WHICH U DON'T KNOW AND IT ALSO HAVE A CUSTOM HOLDER , AMARAN IS FAR FAR BETTER THAN GODOX INTERMS OF SIZE BRIGHNESS AND PORTABLE

nice points! I have a question about Godox AD-S60S. Is there any bowens mount adapter for it? Thanks.
@IsomPhilips2 жыл бұрын
Thanks! As far as I know there is no way to adapt the AD-S60S to a Bowens mount. Thanks for watching!

Now they are cheaper. And I have some. They are not bad, the key features are good brightness and portability. I have at work big one, and it required huge power block, itself light is huge..... 60d is tiny comparing to a big "professional" lights

I actually decide recently on the Amaran 100X which I picked up new for $212. Brighter and better deal than either of the lights you discussed. No battery option but not an issue for me. Thanks for your thoughts.
@IsomPhilips3 жыл бұрын
Good deal on the 100x and that's an excellent light especially for that price. I like having the battery option and if I need more brightness I have a 100d and a Godox VL150 which can also be powered by a V Mount battery. The smaller lights just work well in the small space I have for KZbin videos. Thanks for your comment and thanks for watching!

I'm one of the only people that loves the Godox mount, it makes the modifiers so much more portable in comparison to the Bowens mount and I don't think they get enough credit for that. I have the S2 adapters for my AD300 strobes already which easily holds a 120cm Octabox boomed overhead. I'm not sure I'd do the same with the Amaran 60D mount... but the lighter weight and lower cost does make me consider them for my KZbin studio
@IsomPhilips3 жыл бұрын
Agree on the Godox mount. The smaller modifiers do a great job and are much more portable. I use the S Mount bracket for my AD200 and for smaller speedlights. Thanks for watching!

The only problem is there are very limited options for godox mount. But it has great potentials.
@GarethDix3 жыл бұрын
@@qiyuxuan9437 not when using the S2 Mount for the lights which is bowens
@IsomPhilips3 жыл бұрын
That's true. Maybe they will ad more in the future. In the meantime you can use Bowens mount modifiers with the S Mount adapter
