I totally understand your reasons for not sharing presets. I suppose that the only benefit to shared desk presets is for folks to explore them just as learning examples, to go through the routing and settings in our own time. However, as you say, with live sound it's not reproducible because there are so many variables and could easily lead to "HURR DURR I APPLY PRESET WHY IT NO SOUND GOOD IN MY BATHROOM, ALSO MY BAND HAS TUBAS INSTEAD OF BASS, PRESET SUXX".

That’s why I made a separate video to show you everything I do so that if you wanted to, you can copy my settings.

I totally agree with you. I'm also a photographer, and I won't sell my PS/LR presets for the same reason. I'll save my presets and give to them to competent clients for free for their shoot session edits. I mainly give them to IG influencers... since they know they might need some tweaks after the presets are applied. I feel same way with my HX Stomp preset edits. I can't sell presets just from moving a few sliders. Doesn't feel right to me, and it's not a guarantee it will sound good with their unique gear.

Presets are a starting point but it's not a solution to be lazy or solve anything. Learn from presets and make your own moves from their with ears via trial and error!!! People are like that with recording too they are playing with templates/presets not taking time to study but want the easy way out.

Exactly why I don’t want to release a preset

Honestly, and I mean this in the politest way possible... Why would you ever want someone elses settings? Different bands, different genres, different instruments, different tones, different acoustic spaces, different microphones, DIs. Way too many variables to consider applying any type of template. People need to learn what to listen for and the processes for achieving the sound they want, not applying templates - that just wouldn't work in this context.

I agree 100%. Don’t be lazy. Figure it out on your own what works for you. I can only tell you my workflow.

I wouldnt trash yours or anyones settings. Any engineer should approach presets the same way they approach settings they download. You have to fine tune them for your work spaces. I believe people should consider workflow and setting choice per channel, BUS, & etcetera. I wish people would make multiple settings for various instruments and vocals for different sizes, types, and builds...

Just because you wouldn’t do it doesn’t mean others wouldn’t.
