Miatas are really good track cars. Last race at NCM i was neck and neck with an NA Miata and he was hard to shake off. If youre not careful they can sneak up on you QUICKLY. On HPR, Miatas and MR2's reigned supreme.

I love my G37 it's crazy coming from a TL type S to a G37 high compression V6 all the way. It's crazy that these cylinders are like 11:00 to 1:00 or something like that 230-240 PSI in each cylinder 💚💚 And you can't beat that dual throttle body get all that air baby needs 😂

For that no issue miata, make sure you get the coolant bypass or you'll cook number 4. Make sure your diff breather is operational or you'll blow your diff. Make sure to run oil at full line, not any lower or you'll starve your engine during hard or prolonged corners. Check the inside of the quarters, inside the trunk, it likes to hide cancer rust. Any power option should be deleted, many issues. Get rid of power steering and change to manual rack for less steering issues. Make sure vent tubes are on the battery, or you'll have acid slopping about in the boot or run dry cell. Don't forget to spend 2-3k on chassis bracing too, so you don't get the shimmy, roll bar or cage, under chassis brace *butterfly*, both towers, cabin chassis. Thats all you need to start off making a reliable track miata. Not to include all safety and spec equiptment needed on track. I ran scca miata cup for 3 years and my s chassis was still a cheaper build to put on track and to be used as a dd than my miata ever would have been.

Idk... I have worked on one and had to get rid of vdc,tcs,abs and that power cutting pin that goes from the brake switch to the ecm just to get it to open up. Yes it burned oil and it has more plastic than a Barbie jeep...but it had enough power that you could peel out in 2nd gear.

As someone who has owned 7 350Z, 2 370Z, and 2 VQ30 5th gen maximas… so every single VQ platform… and spent $90k on a drift build 350Z…. I wouldn’t buy a 350Z anymore either. They became severely overpriced due to attention from social media. But back when I bought clean super low mile 350Z for $4-7k sure they were one of if not the best platform car to buy. Car can handle 700hp on the stock chassis, which the engine can’t even make 700hp without a stupid crazy build so you’re safe to drop In a swap on stock trans, stock diffs, entire stock rear end, stock fuel, and stock suspension. But me personally the one I built out was a pro am FD competition car so can’t cheap out for professional motor sports. Gotta upgrade everything and I mean EVERYTHING. But that’s the only Z I kept. The rest I sold for a great markup on all of them. But I much prefer the cars I own today, not even in the same realm of comparison. Hell my sponsor WRC pro car cost over $150k to build and I’m currently building both a 1997 Toyota Celica GT-four WRC car that’s going to cost me easily over $100k when done and a 2011 Lexus CT200H WRC car that’s going to cost me closer to $150k when done.

Tbh drifting makes track driving way easier because you learn the limits of the car and what it feels like when you're about to lose control so you can have better reaction time at correcting and countering. Holding a sustained drift around a corner or through a curve is more technical than just driving through it. It makes you a better driver.

I just started drifting last year and you absolutely don't need 20k to drift. For a 350z all that's needed is to pull some fuses weld the diff and a bucket seat so you can drift with consistency.. my car is an HR.. they burn no oil and the chassis overall is a tank. The only thing I've changed/ fixed since I started drifting is new cheap tires for the rear ( fronts will last for a couple years)and regular oil change intervals
