I’m a Delta flight attendant and I dropped all of my social media for that same exact thing. Too many people looking to take others out for their views and beliefs if they don’t align with pop culture politically correct. Oh wow this is the first comment I saw and literally same! I'm 4 years with you know who too lol. I deleted all of my SM except KZbin in 2020. I just couldn't take it anymore. I thought that would help and it def did but only off the plane lol. The atmosphere with crews today is sooooo toxic it don't make no sense. And the crap is being normalized. I Legit on my last trip had to sit their before boarding and listen to my co-workers (2 white females) go on about their hate and disdain for white people. It was such a toxic conversation but because that kind of sentiment has been normalized now on a certain side of the political spectrum they didn't even think they were doing any wrong. And I guess they thought I'd agree with their virtue signaling being black (biracial) myself. But I don't. I literally had to get up and interrupt them. The snide comments and remarks that I have to listen to all day any time someone gets on board with an American flag mask or a mask supporting police or whatever have you that they don't agree with. Or Hell just going to Florida in general the way I've watched flight attendants talk pure sh*t about that region of Americans right in front of those same Americans as they were boarding the flight. It's embarrassing. I just do my best to smile override their hate and misplaced anger with work related convo. Anyway. Sorry I started rambling cuz it's rough out here today lol. All I know is idgas what your views are or who you voted for just get yo ass out there and help me close them bins get this door shut and get this service done 😆. I'm over it.

The level of insanity with all of this woke "political correctness" is beyond absurd! Soon there will be no way for comedians to exist. Any and all jokes will be considered offensive to some interest group or another. Uhnm i can understand both sides however when it comes to working for a well known airline company you really have to be careful about what message you are portraying in your videos. I saw a few of them, in particular the one of you being asked by a pilot for a trash bag as you were pretending to do your safety check. The video shows a total Moron pilot which is a side of a pilot i had never pictured in my mind and it made me want to kick that pilot's ass for being so demeaning however the whole thing takes a new meaning when you see the jetblue logo because it automatically will make the public think all jet blue pilots are assholes who mistreat flight attendants. It portrays a really bad public image of the company which translates in bad publicity that hurts their brand and ultimately their revenue. And you know how it is in corporate America. I'm not sure if that mistreatment by pilots was a recurrent behavior you had to endure during your career on jet blue. If it was so you might want to go all the way and call out the company for allowing such terrible treatment to you and other employees because that behavior should not be tolerated. I also saw another vídeo where you guys make fun of passengers who don't know how to open the lavatories doors or do not close the over head bins etc and that video didn't come across very nice because it feels again like jet blue flight attendants expect the passengers to do what is supposed to be your jobs. And remember people are already pissed at the monopoly airlines have in the USA by charging outrageous fees for checked bags or flight tickets. Certainly videos making a mockery out of passengers with the jet blue logo anywhere was not gonna go unnoticed for too long by the company. So maybe those videos where getting a little out of hand from the companys point of view because without you even knowing you were starting to take control and hurting their public image as a company something that is not part of a flight attendants contract. I know it can be a little difficult to understand but that's just how it is and they are legally entitled to.

Wow Chris. I am so so so sorry for all that you have gone through. I have always found your videos to be extremely informative, absolutely hilarious, and something that I thoroughly enjoyed watching as I too absolutely love the aviation industry and would love to be a flight attendant in the very near future. So your videos gave me all the information that I would ever need in the event that I would one day pursue my dream of becoming a flight attendant. Now, I have been a customer service agent for several airlines in the past and I do know one thing, and that is that drama flies through a company like wild fire. So to hear everything that you have gone through and you not even having the opportunity to hear it for yourself first doesn’t surprise me. It just sounds like there are some major haters within your company Who have nothing better to do than to hate on other people who are more successful than them, and much better of a worker than they are. and they just cannot help themselves until they are satisfied by bringing somebody down. As for your TickTock channel and as for the Bob the drag queen video, you are absolutely correct and not at fault for trying to lighten the mood while this whole world has been going through nothing but terrible times. Everybody knows that one of JetBlue core values is fun, and for you to be punished and have a huge career taken away from you at the drop of a hat four only trying to lighten the mood and have fun while the world was going through a terrible pandemic and also by playing a video that JetBlue themselves created (bob the drag queen) is just in my mind sickening. I wish you the most best of luck in your future and again I am so sorry to hear that this is happened to you. All I know is it that if I could tell JetBlue one thing it is that they lost somebody who not only represented their company in the most professional and with the most integrity and fun. It is totally their loss and there obviously has to be way more to this situation and story then they lead you to believe. So JetBlue, because of this, I will no longer be a customer of yours and I will no longer fly on any one of your flights ever again in the future. This put me in the worst mood and I am so unbelievably upset for you and I am just absolutely disgusted with the decision that was made by JetBlue Airways. Chris, you have been nothing but a superior brand ambassador to the JetBlue brand. This is their loss not yours.

I haven’t seen many of your FA videos… but as a FA….what I have seen were spot on! I am so sad that those who were not fit were “offended” for not being fit! Wow….. they should WANT to be fit!! Thank you for being an inspiration!! Oh yes…. You were not mocking the virus…. It helps to lighten the heaviness that we are experiencing…. And still are experiencing!!

I’m sorry this happened to you. Unfortunately even though you do have a Union now, the flight attendants still don’t have a contract, that’s what makes you an at will emoloyee. Regardless, it’s reprehensible that a few disgruntled employees who are upset with their own self image took it out on a great guy like you. You deserve better and you will now have more opportunities to shine. I’ve been a fan and will continue to be one. Stay strong

I was about to echo the same thing! However, at my airline we do have a contract which would’ve provided a clearer timeline to how this issue/ discipline could be resolved. That said, they still have a very far reaching Social Media Policy and people get caught in it as well. Chris, you only showed the positive part of your job/ company, but in the public realm, people are way too sensitive and companies focus on that, rather than the hundreds of positive reviews that come about! Anyway, sorry this all went down, but as you’ve shown, you have many opportunities and talents, to go on to much better things!

I found your channel through the FA vlogs. This is unbelievable! I would never think you misrepresented the brand. In fact, you helped with their “cool, down to earth, factor”. I’m sorry this happened to you.

The Union failed you. The Union should have been able to fight that and you should have just received a warning to take down the videos snd stop filming while in uniform,
@ChristopherKellum3 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately they didn't and still dont have a union in place and at the time it was voted down, the union reps were only there to guide or give advice
@nbkhmb53 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately with no contract, the union really has no power. The FAs need to hurry up and get a contract or these unjustified terminations will continue. Until there is a contract, it’s at will employment

I never knew you were given grief about these videos. Im speechless 😳

Chris, I've enjoyed and been inspired by your positive attitude and your obvious pride for your employer. You always represented yourself and the company in such a positive lite. I'm hoping you keep making you tube videos, stay true to yourself, clearly someone at Jet Blue has made a terrible mistake. I've had the opportunity to fly on many carriers and always the best flights were the ones when the crew enjoyed what they were doing. You will do well!! Stay positive and soldier on!

It was clear again from just hearing your experience to see what was inevitable. Brand image is not only the bedrock of a company, but it is also what is remembered at anytime whenever brought up about sensitivity and inclusion. This unfortunate experience is typical for one individual manifesting his talent via artistic expressions with few options for feedback. No matter how small, auditions can help before publishing elements from a project or portfolio. Best of luck to you in your endeavors.

Not necessarily at my airline if you are released from the company you cannot fly on any employee passes at all. that is termination to the employee who let you use your passes. You better double check before you fly.

Chris I just want to share with you that I had a very similar termination happen to me also with JetBlue around the same time that you did. I was an AO and in February 2020 I did what is called a punch and park where you run in to clock in and then go to park your car. It took me 5 minutes, was in before we opened the counter and this event was brought to higher-ups attention. I had never been written up or had any type of discipline occur in my 2 years with JetBlue. I appealed the case and sadly lost and in May 2020 was terminated from a job I loved so very much. Strange to hear someone with a similar story to mine but your positivity in your video is very motivating. I know we will be okay in the end and will find our place if we chose to stay in the industry.
@skymuffn3 жыл бұрын
...this clip alone brings out that determined passion and that sense of pride in humanity that you clearly possess, quite an asset in an ungrateful industry. I was dealt with a similar blow over a decade ago as a proud SFOSW of 17 years with UAL, mine came as a petty, short and round newly appointed supervisor. With her constant write ups on my lack of respect for her and the Standards of United Airlines for being unbusinesslike even with over 40 letters of excellence from passengers including Chuck and Helen Schwab (my neighbors), started my exit. Eventually, I did but by an unfortunate injury which a hefty settlement made me retire at 42, which gave me the liberty to care for my best friend (I was the gay husband) and my amazing father who both battled cancer but lost. People like you makes the hope of the future look awesome. Keep it up and with my utmost respect for your service. Thank You

Chris....I applied, interviewed, and was offered a FA position with the same airline. I was looking forward to it and your videos helped me to be enthusiastic about the prospect of flying. Nothing about your videos struck me as irreverent or offensive. Unfortunately, the COVID 19 situation cancelled out our applications and the hiring process never happened for me and the rest of us who would have been in the training class together. I was disappointed, but since then, I accepted a better position in a job you'd be proud of. So, yes, things do happen for a reason. Chalk it up to the airline's loss. You will land on your feet and will be great at whatever you do. Who knows, better things are just down the road for you. Charlie

Sorry to hear about your job. I remember back in the early 80’s I interviewed for a flight attendant position with several airlines. Part of the first interview we were put on a scale! Yes weighed in. I was in great shape but at 5’2 I weighed 123 lbs. muscle I will add. Told I was overweight!!! I needed to weigh no more than 118 lbs. Things have changed

I'm very sorry that happened to you😢. I'm a regional United flight attendant and last year was a very stressful year, as a flight attendant, working through the pandemic, with the uncertainty if our company was going to survive, if our jobs were at stake. With all the things going around your videos made my day, and made me enjoy my job. Its just sad how this world has turned out to be overly sensitive and everything has to be censored when there's really nothing wrong in your videos. I really appreciated your content and I wish you luck with your new journey.

I used to watch your videos all the time and just literally thought of you today. I remembered that you were no longer a flight attendant but then dropped off watching your videos. I guess I was more into the flight attendant videos versus your new career which is odd because I have no experience in either. LOL!!!! I hope all is well with you and your career.

“Have the courage to walk away”.. you hit the nail on the head. That’s the exact reason I left a mainline carrier after too many incidents of having my voice snuffed by management and false or misleading information to be spread about the crew members throughout the system. Definitely leave any situation, especially if you start to notice that a company’s culture doesn’t align with their own values. You seem to have had good intentions and got punished for your dedication and enthusiasm. That’s such a shame. I hope you find your way back to the skies. I have, and I am so thankful to have been shown how misleading and corrupt certain entities of the aviation industry can truly be, so I can now appreciate the positive in other airlines who strive to represent their values on a daily basis. Good luck!
