Bali would be an even better destination once they finish the massive international hospital in Sanur (heard that foreign specialist doctors are allowed to practice there). Btw, these few months, Indonesian president Jokowi (well, ex president now) inaugurated several modern hospitals with high-tech equipments in several cities across Indonesia, like Surabaya, Makassar. I think Indonesia would provide better healthcare in near future if u want to settle here. For people who dislike hot humid weather, the hack is to live in towns in Indonesia high above sea level, like Bandung and Malang. Weather is much cooler than in Canggu over there. Some cities and towns in Java island is a good alternative to Bali due to relatively good infrastructure (train network is good, and many cities now linked by expressway), friendly locals, decent hospitals, lower cost of living, and less touristy vibe. And cities in Java like Jogja, Surabaya and Bandung have direct flights to Kuala Lumpur, just in case u want better healthcare in Malaysia.

The concept of digital nomad works fine when you're still in your productive years. What about when you're retired or unable to work - apart from medical issues which require being in a health-forward country, there's also a need to maybe connect to your own culture, or extended family and old acquaintances. I'd say one should never give up your home passport without careful consideration. It was citizenship given to you free when born, doesn't mean we can treat it lightly. Traveling, constantly picking up and re-settling elsewhere can get tiresome after a while (probably not as long as youre young and healthy). Ive found that the more connections you have to your original home, the more peace of mind there is. Ive lived in several countries during early years of work. Its definitely exciting then. Not so sure what its like when you turn 70, 80 etc. Maybe all you want then is to be near loved ones, familiar settings.

Agreed, but 1) it depends on the person's personality, and 2) living abroad in retirement definitely needs to be preplanned in terms of savings and passive income.

Great video. I do agree with Max that realising a plan B as a single or as a family are two distinctly different issues. A child does need to have a certain stability. A child needs to have it's own friends and have a chance how life changes, when staying in the same place over a certain amount of time. This is different for an adult. For the most cases an adult has made his experience with this already. Hence an adult is able to move on. Yet it's again different if you have a business. Having business typically limits your radius, as you will clearly be required to stay within the reach, so your clients can get to you.

I couldn't agree more with Denis about SeAsian countries ... geo-politically, SeAsian countries tend to stand in neutral position and 100% sure - not trying to be over confident here - Indonesia as the largest country in SeAsia will do whatever the country can do to maintain stability and security in the region as a non-aligned country, Indonesia tends to avoid being part of any block globally - Indonesia refused to join BRICS, refused to join any military organisations, refused to send arm forces to help a country in war, even Indonesia refused to acknowledge Hamas and only want to "fight" for Free Palestine in UN forums together with Fatah - peace talks and dialogs are way Indonesia usually does Learning from Cold War when SeAsia used to be the region of conflicts between US vs Soviet, todays SeAsians' leaders believe that neutrality, flexibility and balance is a key factor to maintain peace and stability in the region - they call it "the bamboo strategy" ... thus making SeAsian relatively safer compared to other regions, in term of geo-politic

Life in Indonesia is better than other country in whole world, the people welcome and much advantage and the best, especially the beautiful island and food and so cheap cost life 🇮🇩 and I believe Indonesia Will be great country in the world next with the hard work with clear government and the 🇮🇩 people and same with the prophet Muhammad Saw said that's enough for guarantee

Should have titled it "Why Bali", instead of Indonesia because outside of Bali it is a completely different world.

Looks like he's fascinated with Bali, which is good. But Bali and Indonesia as he said..the former is part of the latter! Please if you can, travel to another part of Indonesia. Generally we are nice people, especially to tourist, to the point of admiring them in the villages. The purity of (most) people Indonesian is admirable. Try go to the beautiful villages from another island. They will touch your heart even more.

sure they say that now, but once they need a serious medical attention they leisurely go back home to the west. Good thing they never let go their 1st world passport. Also, Indonesia is massive not just tiny Bali.

Indonesia has only one citizenship, the same with Singapore.
@MaxChernovАй бұрын
Do you mean that you cannot have another one if you’re an Indonesian?
@e.joseline5086Ай бұрын
Yes
@robypengАй бұрын
@@MaxChernov yes, Indonesia doesn't recognize dual citizenship. So if you want to be naturalized Indonesian, you have to give up your former citizenship. And if you move a lot from one country to another, it would be a huge trade off to become Indonesian since Indonesian passport is pretty weak (i.e. you need a visa to visit EU or US).
@michaelroland7431Ай бұрын
Rumor is Indonesia will allow dual citizenship soon.
@robypengАй бұрын
@@michaelroland7431 I believe it’s not soon enough. The rumor was circulated quite often around the end of President Jokowi’s reign, but tbh, it’s been circulated long enough (in one news I read, it’s been 15 years). There’s no plan around it either on legislative side, not even on pre-discussion level. So, don’t get your hopes up.

@@DeniSaputta very few chances unless you are sponsored by your present company. It entails a long process to get your visa approved so no company in New Zealand shall take such big pains to get a visa for a fresher. If your existing company is having operations in New Zealand then you can request them to place you in New Zealand. Once you are working in New Zealand then you can switchover to some other better paying companies.

as an Indonesian I would say the biggest circulation of money in Indonesia will be in Makassar.
@MaxChernovАй бұрын
really? I didn't know that. Why?
@ricosubekti1450Ай бұрын
@@MaxChernov because Indonesia's main export and import port will be moved there. no longer in Jakarta, this is to reduce the price of necessities for people in the eastern region. so the Indonesian government chose in the middle, and that became Makasar. and it becomes closer to Australia, Philippines, Japan, Korea, China.
