Indeed, I find peace when I pray and read the Quran. I had lots of problems that depressed me, I almost thought about suicide. Then I decide to deepen my learning about the religion, improve my submission to Allah and I found a peace I could not describe with words. It can only be felt with my heart. As if Allah is the only one who understands my feelings, what is in my heart. Just like what Allah says in the Quran: "Verily, in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find peace." (Quran 13:28)

Abondend Hope "God does not forbid you from those who do not fight you because of religion and do not expel you from your homes - from dealing kindly and justly with them. Indeed, God loves those who act justly. God only forbids you from those who fight you because of religion and expel you from your homes and aid in your expulsion - (forbids) that you make allies of them. And whoever makes allies of them, then it is those who are the wrongdoers." (Quran 60:8-9) “Allah does not forbid you from showing kindness and dealing justly with those who have not fought you about religion and have not driven you out of your homes. Allah loves those who are just.” Qur’an 60:8 the qur’an does not say to kill non believers. During the prophet muhammad’s time (pbuh) the muslims were being persecuted, tortured and opressed for being a muslim. The arab pagans at that time were called the Quraysh and they declared war on the muslims. The first battle was calldd the battle of badr. This is the battle mentioned in the Qur’an that says to kill disbelievers. In islam there is no compulsion in religion. Prophet’s muhammad’s uncle (abu talib) wasn’t even a muslim when he died! but did they kill him? no. Also these battles had strict rules that the muslim who were participating needed to follow. These are the following rules: 1. “Do not kill any child, any woman, or any elder or sick person.” (Sunan Abu Dawud) 2. “Do not practice treachery or mutilation.(Al-Muwatta) 3. Do not uproot or burn palms or cut down fruitful trees.(Al-Muwatta) 4. Do not slaughter a sheep or a cow or a camel, except for food.” (Al-Muwatta) 5. “If one fights his brother, [he must] avoid striking the face, for God created him in the image of Adam.” (Sahih Bukhari, Sahih Muslim) 6. “Do not kill the monks in monasteries, and do not kill those sitting in places of worship. (Musnad Ahmad Ibn Hanbal) 7. “Do not destroy the villages and towns, do not spoil the cultivated fields and gardens, and do not slaughter the cattle.” (Sahih Bukhari; Sunan Abu Dawud) 8. “Do not wish for an encounter with the enemy; pray to God to grant you security; but when you [are forced to] encounter them, exercise patience.” (Sahih Muslim) 9. “No one may punish with fire except the Lord of Fire.” (Sunan Abu Dawud). 10. “Accustom yourselves to do good if people do good, and to not do wrong even if they commit evil.” (Al-Tirmidhi) The people who commit evil things in islam are not representing islam. A muslim is an imperfect human being and they are capable of doing something even when religion says not to. Before Islam, women were considered shameful, female children were buried alive, prostitution was rampant, divorce was only in the hands of the husband, inheritance was only for the strong, and oppression was widespread. Islam came and abolished these practices. Even now, in “developed countries”, women are not granted respect, dignity and honour, let alone equal pay for equal work. Islam, however, regards women as precious and valuable, not to be disrespected or disgraced. The mistreatment of women in some Middle-Eastern countries or Muslim families is due to cultural factors that some Muslims wrongly follow, not because of Islam. Why would many women around the world willingly enter Islam if it is an oppressive religion? Allah said in the qur’an “And for women are rights over men, similar to those of men over women.”Qur’an 2:228 The Prophet (peace be upon him) also encouraged men to treat their spouses in the best way, “The best of you are those who are best (in treatment) to their wives.” The Prophet (peace be upon him) was once asked, “O Messenger of Allah, who among people is most deserving of my good treatment?” He said, “Your mother.” The man asked twice more, “Then who?” and was given the same response. Only until the fourth time did the Prophet respond, “Then your father.” Reward is not only given to the good and kind treatment towards mothers. In fact, Islam has designated a special reward for raising daughters that is not granted for raising sons. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, “Whoever Allah has given two daughters and is kind towards them, they will be a reason for him entering Paradise.”

As-salāmu ʿalaykum, I reverted to Islam in 2017 before I got married. Came back to United States. Made a wrong choice in life. Never been in trouble in my life. Went to prison. Got closer to Allah by studying Islam by reading the entire Quran twice from front to back while I was away in prison. Meet a few heart warming Muslim brother's in prison. When I was released in 2018 I continued my faith as a Muslim. I'm still learning to this day alone. I wish to stay on the straight path. I wish that a Iman would teach me to be the best Muslim I can be. It's 2019, I still have nothing since I got out of prison. (No Vehicle, No Home, little money to my name, and most importantly I'm really far away from my wife that I love very much) I struggle to survive but I'm happy I have my faith in Allah and thank Allah everyday. Inshallah, May Allah guide me on the path to be a successful husband to support a family and to be with my wife again. 🙏🏻

I am a recent convert and wish to go on Hajj, however I have a USA passport and I have been told I need to arrange hajj through pre-approved groups due to issues with nationality. Would you happen to know anything about this? This year I will likely be unable to go on hajj due to pandemic conditions, but I would like to plan for the future as soon as I am able. The famous linguist Al-Fayrooz'abaadi in his famous dictionary al-Qaamoos Al-Muheet said: والأبهر : الظهر وعرق فيه ووريد العنق والأكحل والكلية ، والوتين : عرق في القلب إذا انقطع مات صاحبه Al-Abhar: the back and the vein in it and the vein in the neck, and akhal (vein running across the middle of the arm) and kidney. Al-Wateen: the vein in the heart, which if were cut off the person would die. (as reported by Burhaanudeen al-Biqai in his Nadhm ad-Durar fi Tanaasub al-Ayaat wal-Suwar) Again, we see the clear distinction being made between al-abhar and al-wateen. The intended meaning is that Allaah protected the Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, from that which none other than him was protected. For instance, Jaabir may Allaah be pleased with him reported, “While the Messenger of Allaah, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, was sleeping, a Bedouin came to him, and took his sword stealthily. The Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, woke up while the Bedouin was standing by his head, holding his unsheathed sword. He challenged him and said, 'Who will save you from me?' The Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, replied: 'Allaah!' So he, sheathed it (i.e. the sword) and sat down. The Messenger of Allaah, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, did not punish him.” This is why some of the Companions who ate from the poisoned meat died from the effect of poison. The Jewish woman meant that if he, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, was not a true Prophet of Allaah, he would die from the effect of the poison. In fact, he, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, lived normally for years after eating from that poisoned food. This Jewish woman did not kill him the way she wanted as she did with those who died immediately after eating the poisoned food. Allaah honored His Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, as usual and did not cause him to die from the effect of that poison immediately. Instead, he died of its effect after years so as to attain the refined status of martyrdom. In fact, there is no contradiction between the religious texts in this regard. @renoxe no, asking for forgiveness is a fairly universal idea - maybe not in your understanding but every Imam I’ve ever spoken to has said otherwise. Many disagree with the idea of hell. And that should probably show at least some of the cracks and how this man made idea is so fragile and unrealistic. In the modern day the most peaceful countries are atheist, no one has ever committed a crime in the name of atheism because there is no philosophy or belief there and while some evil people were atheists they acted on their own philosophies not atheism and many more have been religious. The progress of secular values have allowed you to have the technology and rights you have now. Claims for any God always fall short and have never been convincing, the evidence is non-existent and the absurdity of it all is hilarious.

The other verse is about fighting against non believers and the verse after this one was about the fact that you have no permission to fight against those that wants peace. You cannot pick one random verse and skip the other. Since when do governments tell us to hate Islam? They encourage us to call it a religion of peace. I started hating Islam as an ideology after I learned some of it.
