In a way, as much we hate admitting it, these metrics make sense. All the platform wants is for you to stay on it as long as possible and they will reward those accounts that achieve it. A great photo can stop someone in their scrolling for 2-3 seconds but imagine what a great carousel or reel will do? If it demands attention and you made someone stay on the post for 15+ seconds, then instagram is REALLY happy with you and will push your content to a wider audience. If your content is so good that it keeps people scrolling through your feed/stories and sharing it, liking it, saving it, going back to it.. then instagram is satisfied with you as a “content creator” and will have you in its good books aka. will push you forward in the algorithm. That’s why it pays off to be a *great* content creator and posting with a purpose. Just mindlessly mimicking what others do won’t work much, you have to strategically create content that works for your niche, specific audience and you know how to create it in the most visually (or story telling) entertaining way.

I think Instagram interation velocity means the action taken due to the posts/stories/reels....likes, shares, follows, etc regarding the content that is posted in the account. I noticed in my account that each reels I post are having an increasing ineraction veocity.. 📈

For me the third metric Interaction (velocity) means the number of interactions (preferably comments and saves) within the first hour of posting. Since velocity in physics is defined by space/time, in this case we have number of interactions/time, therefore, the velocity of interaction in the first hour of posting is a metric to measure how engaging is your post. As higher this number is, more people IG will showcase your content.

I'd say the third metric Interaction (&velocity) is *in smart terms* how much more engagement your content leads to based on the engagement already taking place (with your content) in the same relative time period. In basic terms, how many people are interacting with your content in succession before the interaction falls off

Interaction velocity is how fast your audience interacts with your content once you post it (Early Engagement!). + you could also say (as 2nd definition, both answer it) that it is how fast people like, comment, share (basically interact) with your content once they see it. -> Do they interact after watching the video to 50%, or 70% for example.

The interaction is about "showing" the algirithm you also consume the content. Like interacting before actually posting would boost your post. Instagram wants everyone to consume content.

I have a question: I generally have good engagement, but does having a couple posts that do bad engagement lower the engagement of your entire account? Or does it go by an individual post basis? I'm always scared to experiment with new content or ideas in case it does bad in the algorithm and in turn decreases the value of my entire account and posts i might post in the future. I have a 15k page in the bonus like 5 months now. First 3 I made $300ish, & 2 $500ish then they unmonetized me for BS content violation for my own fing content! 2 months & immediate shadow ban. I post the same reels to a 22 follower page not in the bonus & get low thousands of views & some likes. My 15k page in the bonus gets 90 out of 100 0 views! ZERO! 1 might get 100-400 now. Now hundreds made about $7 after a 2 month demonitization for my own videos. I should have bought views & posted 3 reels a month. F them. Facebook bonus is steady with less nonsense. I have more interactions than everyone else on my posts. The other pastry chefs are not regular, do not post reels, the photo quality is poor, and for some the cakes are ugly.
