i just realised something on the withoutholding tax: when the ETF receives dividends from the underlying stocks, the 15% withholding tax is deducted before the dividends are reinvested.This means that the tax is applied at the time of dividend distribution, regardless of whether the dividends are paid out to you or reinvested within the ETF. Let's say, If the investor incurs a loss on the investment after 5 years. The withholding tax is applied at the time the dividends are paid out and is not dependent on the overall performance of the investment, meaning the 15% withholding tax on dividends is not refundable. Do correct me if i'm wrong.

Kevin, mind ask isn't Moomoo just a custodian account, so they are not holding physical stocks like FSM one and are we still subjected to the U.S. withholding tax?

Hi Kelvin, can I check in your comparison between CSPX vs SPYL on Interactive brokers, you mentioned the more you trade, the faster it break evens. This Trade Value is accounting for Dollar Cost Averaging already or it's based on a one time investment amount? E.g. If I trade $6,000 annually, I can breakeven within 1.47 years? Or is it once my trade account is at $6,000 I can foresee it breaking even at 1.47 years? Thank you for taking time and reading the question!

Hi Kelvin, thank you for your video sharing. As I note from your video that IBKR charges a min of $1.70 for RSP. Would it be a better decision to go for FSM for RSP if we want to do a DCA of SGD $500 monthly? This is after I factor the conversion difference, FSM seems to still be a btr option for RSP amount which is lower. Would love to receive your thoughts on this 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

Hi Kelvin, FSMOne is supporting SPYL for the RSP now. Now that we can buy SPYL on RSP via FSMOne, would you still advise that IBKR is better than FSMOne for S&P500?

Dear Kevin thank you again for another informative and educational video. Is it better to use fixed or tiered pricing to buy SPYL on IBKR?
@KelvinLearnsInvestingАй бұрын
Definitely tiered pricing is better

Thanks for the prompt reply Kelvin. Im not so familiar with the swiss exchange. Is there an amount where fixed pricing beats tiered pricing on the EBS? I'm thinking of lump sum investjng into SPYL.

Hi kelvin, Im planning to start a long term RSP maybe around 500 usd/month, is SPYL via IBKR still holds the lowest total fee? In comparison to CSPX in FsmONE
@ccchung625018 күн бұрын
SPXS.L is a synthetic ETF and hence can avoid withholding tax. Its yearly return is about 0.2% to 0.3% higher than CSPX.L. However, it's a syntheic ETF and so has sightly higher risk.

Kelvin can summarize for me? I am now holding on to CSPX on Interactive brokers. I dont do DCA and always lump sum instead. For my next lump sum into S&P 500, should i buy CSPX or SPYL? i plan to keep it therein the next 20 to 25 years and not selling in the short term.
@KelvinLearnsInvestingАй бұрын
Go with SPYL
@hex6593Ай бұрын
Is the lower trading volumes and lesser known nature of SPYL a consideration? e.g. bigger bid/ask spread, harder to sell off later if u accumulated a lot? Any difference in the fees if u DIY buy monthly on IBKR instead of using their auto invest?

I'm in malaysia using FSM one but i cant see neither SPYL nor CSPX What would you suggest I do? Cause because of this inability I'm forced to invest in VOO

For SGD $300 RSP per month on DCA, is IBKR or oneFSM better for SPYL?
@regal133Ай бұрын
Quick question, if I want to buy manually instead of using RSP, what are the fees and which platform will you recommend? Also, why are people using RSP instead of buying manually? (Other than the $0 fees)

For QQQM and SCHG, both long term, is Interactive still the best or have better choices?

Hi Kelvin, thank you for the informative video. Currently, I’m having recurring investment into CSPX via IBKR, $500 USD, twice a month. If i intend to keep this $500 USD, twice a month recurring investment, with a long term view, is IBKR better or FSMone? Only planning to exit in 25 years or so.

Great post! Why not VUAA? You seem to skip past the rationale for “dropping” it…
@KelvinLearnsInvestingАй бұрын
Ah my bad. VUAA has same expense ratio as CSPX, same ireland domiciled. But it has lower net assets + trading volume, so you would get a slightly worse bid ask spread

so convoluted argument. just go cspx and forget spyl anytime and ANY amount. why make you video so difficult to understand and misleading. did spyl pay you ad fee?

Seems like everyone in the comments understood that spyl is better, can share with part is misleading and difficult to understand to you, so i can explain to you? No, spyl is an etf, it can’t pay me. And no, the fund manager didn’t pay me

@@KelvinLearnsInvesting you said somethng @6:48, but I saw (to me really annoying) the caption: the lesser number of years before the total cost of investing in SPYL becomes cheaper against SPYL. against SPLY??? I cannot compute. The very sentence in video seems to says something else.
@edgan1Ай бұрын
@7:04 the captions say " even though the initial cost of investing SPYL via IBKR is higher", so why not stick to CSPX for sure win. And if eventually SPYL really wins at the higher amount, then switch to SPYL later. i don''t know how to resolve this. But you set out to make a comment of this, you cannot simply say "since most of us will be investing in the snP over long periods of time anyway"..

I am not against you but I had a heated argument with my friend about CSPX and SPYL. I told him to forget about SPYL since at that time SPYL is was not on the LSE, but the switzerland one which I never touched. So I said to him to stick to CSPX but then I owe him a clear reason why I favor CSPX. I thought I can get clarity from you video but I find it now more confused.
