Howdy 👋 Pete. I own an iPad Pro M4. I did the iPadOS 18 update last Monday. No problems whatsoever. No lock outs, and all my music apps work just fine (I own roughly 400+ music apps). But great that Apple removed the ability to update for now since some users experienced problems. Thanks for pointing out to the community.

I just bought and ipad pro 13in and I literally reset my ipad like 4 times and tried to restore and update from 2 different laptops only to discover I wasn't the problem. So I'm glad for that. Thank you for being the only person on the internet explaining that they removed iOS 18 on ipadpros M4. 🙏 The people who work in apple stores and genius bar didn't even know that was happening.

I’m so glad you made this video! I was nearly to the point of banging my head against the wall trying to figure out why I couldn’t update my brand new M4. I’ll be honest. I primarily wanted a decent calculator app that didn’t have ads and popups. Most of the other stuff seemed like fluff to me. But for the life of me I could not figure out why I was stuck on 17.7 and everything I could find seemed to say, just go to settings and have at it and not a hint that there was this little exception.

I just bought an iPad Pro M4 today and was wondering why it wouldn’t let me transfer from my old iPad Pro. Unfortunately my work required that I update my old iPad Pro to OS 18 last week. I bought the new iPad Pro M4 today and clearly can’t update to OS18. I assume this means that I cant transfer the data from my older iPad Pro until the new one is on OS18. As it stands my solution is to put the new iPad Pro M4 in a drawer until OS18 is available for it.

That’s very odd. Make sure you’ve tried closing all apps. Logging out of your Apple account. Turning off. Turning back on. Logging back in. Trying again.

I have updated my iPad pro m4 to iOS 18 two days ago without any problem and it works flawless , it seems Like batery improved a bit , anly bad thing i can mention is geek bench 6 scores , after iOS 18 Cpu score went Down around 10% .. Also GPU score went up around 10% , i am benchmarker so i do a lot of tests . Its not so bad thing but it would be nice that CPU and GPU scores both went up .

I updated my iPad Air 5th gen (2022) and 2 days later my iPad stopped working… Tried updating, restoring and took it to the Apple Store but they weren’t able to fix it. Said it was a hardware problem (smh). When I called apple they said lots of people were complaining about this problem since the update to 18.0. Left the store (sad face), and now it’s in the closet waiting for a miracle to happen 😢

Automatically update started to os18 at night. Mine bricked and my partner's couldn't because there was an error. Following day, mine is dead and the other one survived.It just showed an error. Update to 18 couldn't be seen anymore but there was another update to 17. something. We updated it no problem and atm there is no more 18 available.

this holy drives me crazy. I want to try to update the first day. It started to try to update. Failed multiple times went ahead and reset most of my settings. Still wouldn’t update. Went ahead and factory. Reset my tablet still wouldn’t update call Apple ask them what the situation was they didn’t know they asked me to bring it into an Apple Store brought into an Apple Store and was told my iPad was broken and then they were gonna get me a new one the frustration I asked not only online but multiple Apple service technicians online and at the Apple Store and not one stated they knew what was the issue. I’m glad I’m not the only one that’s had this issue and wished more people would come forward again. Apple needs to remove their head from their ass and tell people if the things are not working correctly specially for the newest most expensive iPad.
