I'm at 27mins and what Emil wants to tell you is that fingerboarding is actually super fun. It's not like most normal training, instead it is this high intensity short duration fun try-hard training that humans often love.

At the moment I am wondering if creatine helps climbers as a supplement like protein. I would have liked to hear what Emil thinks about it. Otherwise very nice interview.

I'd say it does help slightly, especially with recovery

Theres a channel called Hooper’s Beta that has a video on this as it pertains to climbing

It is mainly used while in a training circuit, as performance doesn't matter that much and recovery is key at those phases. When entering performance phase (competitions or specific outdoor projects) you can stop taking creatine, lose the weight and boost your strength to weight ratio for achieving a specific goal. After that, return to creatine. Well, at least some high-end climbers do it like that.

I started taking it about 2 months ago and have liked it so far. Just an anecdotal account. But I don’t climb at a super high level (V7)

Some climbers report getting a lot more pumped on the wall when supplementing creatine. I personally responded really well to it. It really depends on the individual.
