Atari have lost the rights of the game in 2008 and that's why Tenkaichi never got a remastered on new generation consoles. Except for ultimate tenkaichi that one sucks! lol

@@ydnmn5622 Atari lost the rights of Budokai since 2008 included Tenkaichi was well. Toei animation holds to rights and give Namco bandai to remade budokai HD in 2012. Yon won't see Atari logos on the HD game or on cover art anymore. Kenji Yamamoto was fired in 2011 by toei animation or bandai due to copyrights songs. He copy other famous American rock metal songs and make he's own version that almost sounded the same. You should know why you don't hear old music from budokai 1 and 3 on the DBZ Budokai HD remastered.

10 years ago, I asked my dad for Tenkaichi 2, and he got me a lightly used copy of Tenkaichi 3 instead ($20). Never got mad for that mistake.

Luckily I got Tenkaichi 3 on PS2 for $20 used at a GameStop over 10 years ago. The case itself is a bit worn, but everything else is in good condition.

I pray that the existence of Tenkaichi 4 convinces someone at Bandai to re-release the older titles(and the original Budokai games as well). It'd be awesome if there was a collection that includes all the Budokai and Tenkaichi games (including Burstlimit and Raging Blast as bonuses since they're essentially spiritual successors)

Yeah but I always hate HD remasters in collections since they always fuck up the original intended look of the games and add bugs. Not to mention the scammy way of re-selling old games for 60$, it's horrible. Like eww... You can't fucking tell me to play Sonic Adventure DX or the Devil May Cry HD Collection!! I would just reccomend anyone to just emulate any old game they are willing to play. You don't even need a PC for that, if you're ok with your mobile device's screen size and you have a controller. And even if you only have iOS devices, it's not hard to get emulators working. Basically the only reason for people to ask for collections, is if they have old ass phones and only a console for gaming. So, no human being on this planet. Emulation is also the definitive way of playing 99% of the time, due to so many enhancements it can offer. So: it's the best possible way to play your favourite games, completely for free, on any device you have so wherever and whenever you want. There's nothing else you can ask for. Emulation is the only way and we all have to thank its existence.

I'd recommend people download the Budokai Tenkaichi 4 mod if they'd like to play BT2 or 3. It's been updated to add new features and they've improved it so that the new characters don't replace the ones already in the game. Feels like an official game as well, and they're still adding more new content. There's a version for emulators and to play on PS2/PS3. Hopefully the official BT4 is even better.

Retro game prices always blows my mind as I remember when I used to be able this game for $10 complete at my local Hollywood Video (RIP Hollywood video you were both my Blockbuster and GameStop from my childhood to early 20s) On a side note: I miss Flight of the Conchords I'm not saying it introduced me to New Zealand but it was the first time I knew anything about y'all. About 7 years ago I managed to snap up Tenkaichi 1, 2 and 3 on Trade Me for around 50NZD, and I was genuinely unaware that Tenkaichi 3 had risen so drastically in value. I was aware that it was worth a bit more than what I got it for, but I was not prepared to see it being sold for over 100$.

Hopefully if BT4 sells well and any licensing issues can get in order, it’ll hopefully lead to a rerelease or remaster of the original trilogy. Much like what Konami is doing with remasters of the old MGS games to coincide with the Snake Eater remake.

I was just playing BT3 on PCSX2 lol, trying to see which stupid numbers have to be at what place when upscaling the game at 720p and beyond because every time the resolution goes up the stupid lines don't match and go out from the characters! Manual Texture offset numbers keep going up, ugh what a pain, I hope when I look at it more tmrw and try to report it on the github about this issue that they will atleast fix it soon because this one seems to be ongoing for a long time.

It's crazy, I got this back in the day, when it was just coming out being a DBZ fanatic at the time. To see this game become a holy grail game is crazy. I wouldn't let up my copy for anyone. But even then, the game was pretty hard to find during launch. A lot of people settled on the Wii version which is inferior in every way.

I actually currently have 4 copies in my possession The story goes…. My original copy which i had since release years ago was packed away with my ps2 collection years ago. Back then i seperated all my games from the boxes and had them in a cd sleeve case for convenience. Years later…..no sorry over a decade later I started collecting on a bigger scale and thought where my copy was so I searched with no luck and my brother (knowing the fan I was) decided to buy me a new copy which at the time was still priced at around $50 as I waited for it to arrive I found a copy myself for about $ 30 so I went ahead and bought it the copy my brother bought for me arrived and he game me that one. Not long after I had finally found my original copy from years ago (along with the case) so by this stage I had 3 complete copies. Some time past and I started to see the prices go up more and more and saw how valuable the game was becoming one day I happened to be doing some online shopping and there, was a copy with an alternate cover copy (didn’t have previously) which I think belonged to a collectors edition selling for $4.50+ $3.00 postage I jumped on it and not long after I received my 4th complete copy of dragonball z budokai tenkaichi 3

Tenkaichi 1-3, Infinite world, and Super DBZ (no sagas) all those games for the same price as BT3

just an fyi ps2 games did not suffer from the pal 50hz problem you mentioned like many ps1 era and older games did. most if not all games for were tailored to the pal 50hz tvs so there is no noticeable difference or slowdown, also many games (including bt3 if i remember correctly) have a 60hz option when launching the game.

I was able to snag mine for stupid cheap a while back on mecari, no flex, just got lucky. The Nostalgia slaps me so hard, but I try not to play it so much to try abs preserve it, so I modded my wii and play that version with the classic controller when I got the itching itch to Kamehameha a b*tch. So recommend.
