I'm a former top chip in my nation, but after the nerf it's just so unplayable to use chip imo. The bastion portal was hurt to use with the long ass CD, the dmg also much lower with the nerf of his skills & thunder belt nerf. I'm used to teleport> cut lane to freeze>teleport to another lane for map pressure, but now it feels just walking stick

Because Moontoon killed him. I've been playing him solo rank during 4 months until Moontoon nerfed his dmg and cc. I swear they kill every viable solo rank roamer every time. I played Grock back then - they killed him. I played Johnson - they killed him. Khufra - killed him. After release Carmilla - killed. Faramis - killed.

I'd recommend roam Helcurt (my most spammed hero since last season), but since it seems you prefer tankier roamer, i would recommend either Grock or Tigreal. Now that the meta picks have started to shift into squishier stuffs since the last few seasons, Grock has becoming quite a good pick again. As for Tigreal, you can never go wrong with that Flicker-ult-2 combo, its CC still lasts for SO LONG that it could singlehandedly win a teamfight even with dumb team that only know to spam their BA and skill buttons

Personally I recommend Chou, Hylos, Gatot, Hilda, Khaleed, Edith and Tig and to a certain point, Badang, Bele, Arlott and Guin if you want an solo-oriented roamer Chip can be played on solo but much better on squads since you usually have high chemistry on squads

Simple. The answer is Meta. In the current Meta, a Roamer needs two of these 3 things. 1. Respectable damage and Reliable Sustian. (Gatot, Hilda, Khaleed, Mathilda) 2. Strong dependable Crowd Control skill and high mobility ( Hilda, Gatot, Mathilda) 3. High mobility and healing.( Mathilda) Chip have none of those 3 pre-requisites to be a good Roamer. He can't CC the enemy and will get bursted down before even his wife notice his ult... Forget Chip. Play Mathilda. Spam Mathilda. She can CC, and kill your enemy. She can save and heal your team...

True, if you're willing to gamble on your team being knowledgable or not, you might as well pick Mathilda instead of Chip since at least she has decent dmg, lockdown from ult, and most importantly, an AoE shield so she isn't compeletely useless when her 2nd skill's flight skill is ignored

@@OurMLBB Chip has good mobilty and CC tho. He literally has CC in all of his skill. Stun, knock back, immobilize. And also good mobilty from his second skill and fourth skill with its teleport. The only thing he lack is just sustain, considering he's so squishy compared to other tank. He's like Atlas in that regard. And also he's heavily reliant on team mates to utilize his ganking ability to its full potential.

@@Raycyan15 yeah... but he lacks Sustian and damage .. so he lacks 2 of the 3 things I mentioned.. a Roamer Need 2 of them.. I'd rather roam with Lolita than with Chip, atlas or Grock.. Lolita have Good CC, and can protect her team... and give decent amount of sheild to her team. It hurts me to say this as a Roam main...but the world is a sad place for Tank and Support Roamers now!! We are just food.. we initiate, take damage, deals damage and still gets blame for everything...from a Jungler missing his retribution to a Marksman without map getting gank...or a dashless mage going infront of the roamer greedily for kills and dying... We get all the balmes!..

@@youagain8447 Yeah.. Mathilis actually OP... especially with Assasins running wild... her 2nd skill can save a lot of squishy heroes with low hp.. it can also be used to chase low HP enemy.. Although I have been called a pig more than I care to count... apparently because I did not carry my dying teammates with me when I used my 2nd skill!.. Like bruh... it's there above you attack Icon!... just effing tap it!... Sad times for Roamers!!

I didn't use him since his release because of the bug on his old ult's camera which caused a huge lag spikes everytime he used ult NO MATTER WHICH TEAM HE'S ON. To be fair, that's probably because of my own device being old at that time, but it just left some really bad taste that even after getting new phone, i still don't want to pick him at all

It was pretty stupid how i always have to end the game before 10 minute or THE FREAKING DHS TRINITY BUILD will make my game lagged so bad that my moves were delayed for 3 SECONDS. It also made certain games unplayable caused purely by the picks (oh, my team picked Edith ? Well, guess i have to suffer lag thorought the game then)

Many reasons 1. Most players don't know how to use his ultimate during a clash or sometimes enters it when the chip player fakes it to bait the enemy team away 2. He relays a lot of his allies and ganks so much that if your allies fails to understand chip players ult setting well yeah you know how the story goes by now, sure he's fast and annoying but as most tanks he falls off the late game once enemies have a lot of items 3. Chip is only good in 2/3/5 man squads/team fights considering most randoms allies literally have no idea how chip works and would go in his portal most of the time

If i may add, sometimes people don't even come back to their lane after the teleport (or worse, they don't even realize they could teleport back), so they ended up behind in networth or worse, they died randomly during the gank and their lane opponent just farms freely and chips the turret's gold

I play Lunox as main and my husband mains Chip. Together we're unstoppable. Every time he uses his ult, I go in with balance ult, bring my self to safety while scoring some kills and theb use chaos ult to kill the rest

I use Chip as an Exp Laner, with an arrival spell.. in that way, I can help gank the Gold Lane and return to the Exp Lane at ease.. I will not be ganked easily because i can use my Ulti to call my allies ( hoping they will notice) 😅

What about the laning, though ? Chip doesn't have enough pressure on 1v1 so it's basically the same as you letting the enemy's EXP hero to farm freely. Yeah, you still threaten an ult, but it's still really exploitable and easy to bait on 1v1 (the same issue with Yuzhong and Lukas, the moment you use ult, the EXP-laner will just ran away as soon as possible and reset). His lane clear is also pretty bad, so you'll be late to gank most of the time against the more active EXP that could fast-clear the minions like Terizla or Yuzhong. The biggest issue, however, is just the risk of your inexperienced teammates abandoning their lanes after an ult and STAYING IN YOUR LANE AND STEAL YOUR FARM, which basically spells easy defeat for your team sooner or later

That's all he really is good for, chip is the only roamer/tank i remember that has no AOE stun, No damage , not tanky, and all he's really good for is initiating a teamfight, which if your team is falling behind in gold, IS USELESS eventually cause your just gonna get your team killed Mind you enemies can also use the portal that spawns beside your gold laner or exp, so it's not gonna be the 1v5 you dream of it being.

​@@anonymoustecai3200 have you seen his first skill? It's aoe+ you got a free healing skill. He can get multiple thunderbelt stacks if he hits multiple heroes. And that skill has 3 sec CD and it deals Dmg according to your hp. His skill sets are pretty solid. I think it's a problem on your part.

His passive is not going to work during teamfight you need to walk around the map for his healing passive to work. as for his first skill with thunderbolt, it's just not enough to do him during teamfights, he gets crippled by most meta heroes right now and most tanks are a better option than him, might even argue Uranus and Akai are a better pick. he's just terrible. I've played a buffed version of chip in advance server and he's still bad

Chip is very good at team coordination. Using him at solo makes it incredible hard to use. You need good observation skill, map awareness, utilize his kit. He's an S-tier hero if you know to use him

Team oriented heroes like Chip, Johnson, and Carmilla are never S-Tier because they relied heavily on your teammates. Which is why if you are playing in a party highly recommend to actually pick or ban these heroes because they are actually a pain to go against. But in Solo Queue, these heroes are bad, like really bad.

@yourbluewaffle 3 out of 5 of the tanks you mentioned are hardly meta anymore, tigreal still holds up because his ult is instant cc and gatot dishes damage while also being very tanky. Meanwhile chip has short but spammable cc in his first skill, that is more than good for tanks to disrupt enemy skills and movememt. Don't forget that his second skill also has single target cc that is good for pursuit. And his ult CAN be greatly utilized, that's why you use it first in the combo and then follow up with cc from his other skills and/or petrify. The only issue is whether your teammates know how chip's ult works, because chip is a very team oriented hero

I think most people use chip as a setter roam like tig atlast loli carms etc etc. And most of the time those heroes need at least 2 allies near them to properly execute plans. But with chip that is his kit making his ult unusable and pointless. People and the chip user it self are just so used on setting roamers that they forgot chips kit is all about zooning and ganking. His a hank ver of Natalia and saber in a sense. They don't need a teammate while roaming and zoning but very annoying and effective if done right. While chip is all about that and team fight lover lol and initiator

Chip is pretty good when playing full party with friends, or at least 3. I seldom use him when solo unless the hyper is fighter and my team's heroes are strong in team fight. Martis is the best friend and belerick is the archenemy.
