I am Irish. I just lost my uncle he died due to alcoholism. He was a kind warm hearted man. He was only 39 year's old. May God rest his soul. I have not drank alcohol in 7 years. I see the destruction of alcohol in my family and the society i live in. It literally changes people. I feel sorry for my uncle. At the root cause of addiction is pain and Suffering. Anyways. Rest in peace uncle Peter. Guide me and give me health and happiness throughout my life i love you brother 🙏🏾☝🏾☝🏾❤️

However, what you are allowed- is to use your surplus, (after zakat, taxes, food, and any possible other things you may need) to then buy alcohol, because then you are stable and in the right mind. There is a reason why alcohol is prohibited in Islam and by various old scriptures from other religions. Yet, people still justify the consumption of this beverage either due to addiction or ignorance. It’s a shame.

Before you read, just keep in mind I'm intoxicated right now lol. Alcohol is really safe to drink, at least back then. The Alcohol kills parasites and bacteria, a natural cleansure. This is at a time where clean water could make a sick child healthy again. The problem really is drinking to excess. Drinking beer or whatnot at dinner or for a relaxing day with frinds is fine in my bookks, I'm an athiest with a christain upbringing. But problems arrise with drinking to excess. Where drinking doesn't start with drinking to relaxe but drinking to drown out life or to quence addiction. Hard alcohol is a horrible reaction and if someone isn't used to it they can spiral out of control. A happy drunk is good, but a violent durnk is the worst thing that can happen to someone. Also, I don't believe people know how much people drank back then, look up how much people drink back in prohibition or in the olden times and you'll realize it's a completely different world back then. Sorry if I'm rambling, drinking rum and coke (also, rum was one of the most important drinks for salors as it didn't go bad and prevented scurvey). I wouldn't recommend drinking if you can't prevent you're self from buying a candy bar from the convienent store, people have weak willpower

Absolutely Jakir Naik is misguiding all of us through his message about alcohol..it seems he knows better than Allah..there are many muslims lives in cold country and having alcohol to keep body warm and Allah know as he created this Samawat (universe) better then anyone of us.. 3 times Allah talks about intoxication n gambling in Quran. 1. Al Baqarah (2:219) 2. An Nisa (4:43) 3. Al Maidah (5:90 to 93) Firstly, these 3 suras are in the Furqan part (book of war) starting from sura 3 to 9 is Furqan. (Sura Al Imran 3:3-4). But Sahabi wrongly translated Furqan to Criterion. When Quran was revealed that time there was no Arab dictionary neither grammar. Arab dictionary was written approximately +200 years after Quran was revealed. So "Furqan" was lost and many Muslim scholar don’t know about it. And they follow "criterion" as "Furqan". these 3 suras are belongs to Furqan parts (book of war) where Allah give advise about war. Allah actually advise Sahabi's to avoid intoxication n gambling in order to prosper..its not order but advise coz if they all get drunk at night (remember 1400 years ago quality of Khamr was not good standard maybe raw, but nowadays we have fine quality) and will not able to fight for jihad against Persian and Roam emperor to conquer. If you Tafsir Quran word to word you won’t find anything like this that alcohol is prohibited. Allah only advise us (not prohibited) that you may not prosper. In Sura Maidah Allah started in ayat 90 and completed in ayat 93 about alcohol n gambling. But Jakir naik only talks about Maidah ayat 90..and not until ayat 93 where Allah clearly said : 93. "On those who believe and do deeds of righteousness there is no blame for what they ate (in the past) when they guard themselves from evil and believe and do deeds of righteousness (or) again guard themselves from evil and do good. For God loveth those who do good."

Abu Bakr who took over from Muhammad was a Jewish Rabbi previously called Rabbi Shallum, the father of Ayshia. One night, Muhammad, Bucheran, Aliman and (Rabbi) Shallum (Abu Bakr) were drinking heavily. Once Muhammad and Bucheran were passed out, Rabbi Shallum took the sword of Muhammad out of its sheath and cut off Bucheran's head. He carefully put the bloody sword back into Muhammad's sheath and lay down to sleep. The next morning when Muhammad woke up to discover the decapitated Bucheran, Muhammad cried out, "This terrible deed has been done by one of us three in our drunkenness!" Rabbi Shallum thereupon said quite unconcernedly, "Let each one draw his sword, and he whose weapon is stained with blood, must needs be the murderer!" They all drew their swords, and that of Muhammad was completely dyed with fresh blood, which proved thus clearly to his satisfaction that he had murdered his friend. He was greatly grieved at this discovery; cursed and condemned the wine, which was the cause of this murder, and swore that he never would drink any more, and that also no one should do so who wishes to enter heaven. This is the cause why wine is prohibited to the Mohammedans. Rabbi Shallum, aka Abu Bakr, had his problem solved! Muhammad eventually found out this treachery, but Rabbi Shallum, now Abu Bakr, was able to reconcile with Muhammad by conquering many towns for Islam.

Does allah forbid drinking alcohol? It seems that he could not make up his mind. You may drink alcohol at least in wine (83:25), and allah organises rivers of delicious wine in paradise (47:15) and is good for people who reason (16:67). Drinking is not allowed during prayers (4:43). On the other hand, consuming alcohol (from satan ) should be avoided (5:90, not forbidden!) and is a great sin (2:219), although alcohol has benefit for people. 83:22-26: Indeed, the righteous will be in pleasure. On adorned couches, observing. You will recognize in their faces the radiance of pleasure. They will be given to drink wine, sealed. The last of it is musk. 47:15 : Is the description of paradise, which the righteous are promised, wherein are rivers of water unaltered, rivers of milk the taste of which never changes, rivers of wine delicious to those who drink, and rivers of purified honey, in which they will have from all fruits and forgiveness from their lord, like those who abide eternally in the fire and are given to drink scalding water that will sever their intestines? 16:67: And from the fruits of the palm trees and grapevines you take intoxicant and good provision. Indeed in that is a sign for a people who reason. 4:43: O you who have believed, do not approach prayer while you are intoxicated until you know what you are saying or in a state of janabah, except those passing through, until you have washed. And if you are ill or on a journey or one of you comes from the place of relieving himself or you have contacted women and find no water, then seek clean earth and wipe over your faces and your hands. 5:90: O you who have believed, indeed, intoxicants, gambling, stone alters, and divining arrows are but defilement from the work of satan, so avoid it that you may be successful. 2:219 They ask you about wine and gambling. Say, "In them is great sin and benefit for people. But their sin is greater than their benefit." And they ask you what they should spend. Say, "The excess." Thus allah makes clear to you the verses that you might give thought.

The Prophet asked whether it was intoxicating and when he replied that it was, he said, "Every intoxicant is prohibited. Allah has made a covenant regarding those who drink intoxicants to give them some tinat al-khabal to drink." He was asked what that was and replied that it was the sweat of the inhabitants of hell, or the discharge of the inhabitants of Hell. Is that your interpretation or the actual interpratation? Because, Book of Proverb ch 20 V 1, clearly says, Wine is a mocker, it is a strong raging drink and anyone who is deceived, he is not wise. And, Jesus pbuh said that he did not come to break the law of Prophets who came before. Jesus pbuh said, Gospel of Matthew Ch 5, V17-20, Jesus pbuh said, think not that I have come to destroy the law of the prophets, I have not come to destroy but to fulfil, til the heaven and the earth pass away, not one jot or title shall pass away from the law, until all be fulfilled and whosoever shall break one of the least commandments, shall be called least kingdom of heaven and whosoever shall keep the commandments and teach the same, shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven, unless your righousness, exceds the righousnes of the scribes of the Pharisees, in no way shall you enter the kinggdom of heaven. Now, that verse is in the red letter bible, its in red letters, which is explicetely the word of Jesus pbuh himself.

Thats your view, not the view of the Quran. Because, Surah Al Maidah (The Table) ch 5 V 90, makes it clear for the true muslims, the true believers that intoxicants and not just alcohol, but anything that has the ability to affect your thinking, intellect etc is forbbidden in Islam. If it is not forbidden, what did ALLAH (GOD) mean when he said at the end of that verse, avoid it that you may be successful? What did ALLAH mean by that? Obviously, he meant that muslims should stay away from it, in that verse ALLAH made it forbidden in Islam for a muslim to have intoxicants. You are free to do what you want, if you want to drink, you are free to do so. Just, for your own sake, dont misguide other muslims with your misguided and nonsense statements. Its not a suprise that a group such as yourself, with your views are coming into the muslim Ummah as the Prophet Mohammed pbuh prophesised that it would occur. So, if you want to remain part of those groups, you are free to do that.

The first thing we need to do is to establish that drinking alcohol is not prohibited by the Quran as is claimed by many. There are three passages that hint in this direction. However not in a single occasion it is called haraam, or forbidden by God, like pork meat for example. Here are the three passages: Quran 2:219 “They ask you concerning alcoholic drinks and games of chance. Say: in them are harm and goods for men, but their harms exeeds their good effects.” Quran 4:43 “Do not approach prayers while you are drunk.” Quran 5:90 “O you who believe! Intoxications and gambling, (dedication of) stones and (divination by) arrows are an abomination of Satan’s handwork: so avoid it that you may prosper.” Yes, alcohol is not being encouraged here. Although it is said that there are good sides to it, the emphasis is on the bad effects. Still it seems more like an advice not to drink as long as you don’t do your prayers drunk. We understand that talking to God with a double tongue is probably not the greatest idea, but as long as you keep that in mind there isn’t a good reason to chose for abstinence. Now that we established that let’s check out another passage from the Quran that speaks of alcohol: Quran 16.67 “And of the fruits of the date palms and the grapes, you obtain alcoholic drinks and goods. Verily in that is a sign for a people who use their understanding.” In this verse without a doubt is said that God bestowed grapes and dates upon people, so they can make alcoholic drinks from them. That’s right, wine making is encouraged here. Since we know for sure now that alcohol was not prohibited, but even encouraged, it’s interesting to see how the prophet Muhammad handled his liquor. There are plenty of examples in the Hadiths (tales about Muhammad’s life that are used to understand the meaning of the Quran) that prove he indeed drank alcohol. Here is the most interesting one: Muslim 3753 “We were with the prophet of Allah and he was thirsty. And a man said: ‘O prophet of Allah, do you want to drink wine?’ Prophet of Allah said: ‘Yes’. The man went to get the wine. The prophet of Allah said: ‘Make it intoxicated’. And he drank.” Because the Arabian word that was used ‘nabeed’ can also mean alcohol free wine, the addition by the prophet that is must be intoxicated is a very valuable one. There are plenty more passages where Muhammad is drinking wine, both in the morning and in the evening. In many cases the Islamic opponents of alcohol can hide behind the double meaning of the word ‘nabeed’, but in the last habith the Arabic word ‘khamra’ is used, which means alcohol. And actually Muhammad wasn’t the only one drinking, so did his companions. Anas Bin Malek serves alcohol in Muslim 23, 4884 and 4886. The Mujahedeen drank it in the Battle of Uhud and the prophet’s uncle Hamza even got drunk. When he did, Hamza got mad and Muhammad was scared. This was probably one of the reasons for him to disencourage people to drink too much. There’s also a tale that angels from Allah get drunk and kill a child. Another indication that bad stuff comes from drinking of course. Still the conclusion must be that although moderation of alcohol is encouraged in Islam, it is absolutely not prohibited. The Quran states nowhere that it is haraam or sinful. The prophet Muhhamad himself that is a role-model for Muslims himself drank wine, just like his companions and Jesus, who in Islam is also considered a prophet. Now that’s one less reason to fight between religions and one more reason to celebrate.
@AzmiHere4 жыл бұрын
It is affirmed by our Islamic sharee’ah that it came to bring and increase good things, and to ward off and reduce harmful things. Whatever is beneficial or mostly beneficial is permissible (halaal) and whatever is harmful or mostly harmful is forbidden (haraam). Alcohol undoubtedly falls into the second category. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning): “They ask you (O Muhammad) concerning alcoholic drink and gambling. Say: In them is a great sin, and (some) benefits for men, but the sin of them is greater than their benefit” [al-Baqarah 2:219] The harmful and evil effects of alcohol are well known to all people, to knowledgeable and ignorant alike. Among the harmful effects of alcohol is that which was mentioned by Allaah (interpretation of the meaning): “O you who believe! Intoxicants (all kinds of alcoholic drinks), and gambling, and Al‑Ansaab (stone altars for sacrifices to idols, jinn, etc), and Al‑Azlaam (arrows for seeking luck or decision) are an abomination of Shaytaan’s (Satan’s) handiwork. So avoid (strictly all) that (abomination) in order that you may be successful. 91. Shaytaan (Satan) wants only to excite enmity and hatred between you with intoxicants (alcoholic drinks) and gambling, and hinder you from the remembrance of Allaah and from As‑Salaah (the prayer). So, will you not then abstain?” [al-Maa’idah 5:90-91] In these two verses Allaah emphatically forbids alcohol, when He mentions it in conjunction with Al‑Ansaab (stone altars for sacrifices to idols, jinn, etc), and Al‑Azlaam (arrows for seeking luck or decision), which were symbols of shirk that were widespread in the Arabian peninsula before Islam, and He describes it as being the Shaytaan’s handiwork, which is immorality and evil. And Allaah commands us to avoid it and describes that as being the means that leads to success. And He describes its spiritual harm as hindering man from carrying out the obligations and duties enjoined by sharee’ah, namely remembrance of Allaah (dhikr) and prayer. Alcohol leads to many harmful things, and deserves to be called “the mother of all evils” - as it was described by our Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), who said: “Alcohol is the mother of all evils.” A hasan hadeeth quoted by al-Albaani in al-Silsilah al-Saheehah, 1854. And the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Alcohol is the mother of all evils, the greatest of major sins. Whoever drinks it may end up committing incest with his mother, his maternal aunt and his paternal aunt.” This hadeeth is hasan on the basis of corroborating evidence, as stated by al-Albaani in al-Silsilah al-Saheehah, 1853. This is some of the evidence of the truthfulness of our Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him). And what he spoke of has indeed come to pass. Have you not heard the news about that young man who came home drunk and committed incest with his mother after imbibing intoxicants? He threatened to kill himself if she did not do it, so she took pity on him and did what he wanted. Then when he came to his senses and realized what had happened, he killed himself. Look at how things ended after he drank alcohol. He committed incest with his mother, then he killed himself. We ask Allaah to keep us safe and sound.
