@@redesignuxui I don't think you were rambling. The why and how matters if the audience is looking for an in depth approach to this topic. For me it was time well spent. Besides I've watched some of the content you published, about topics that were of interest to me and I've quite enjoyed it. Found it quite insightful and well presented. If I was looking for a simpler approach, I would have switched to shorts. Btw, you can repurpose your content in short format, and have the shorts point to the original video for people that want to know more. I'm pretty sure it would help your channel grow.

Dark mode is so funny to me. When it was only on Android, nobody cared, and even big app companies like Meta just deprioritized it. But then Apple got OLED screens and added dark mode, and within a matter of months, almost every app and many websites suddenly had a dark mode option.

As said in the video, even the first computer screens started with dark mode. As an Android enthusiast, I remember back in the days when Android still used Holo design (before Material Design) the system UI was always in "dark mode". I've always accepted dark mode as the default, to the point where I'm more likely to ask the question "Why light mode?"

This video has very weird issues. Points are repeated for no reason, themes and examples are scattered around and repeated too, and there is little through line. I suggest you work on your scripts a little longer. You clearly have some skill at making videos, but they need to be way more focused and better organized if you want to reach a mainstream audience.

I'm using dark mode sind the late 90ies. Even Windows 95 had a kind of dark mode, a dark color scheme. It was removed in XP, though. But only a few applications had a dark color scheme until recently. Linux desktops and applications were way ahead of time in the 2000s and 2010s. IIRC MacOS introduced it in the early or mid 2010s. The study about myopia is interesting. Maybe that's why my eyes stopped getting worse in the past 20 years or so 😅

@@redesignuxui as it was said in the video, the first terminals and Unix consoles were already bright text on black background. Often green text, due to the display technology. Many later console applications had a white text on black background (E.G. Wordstar, a word processor) or on blue background (e.g. Norton Commander, a file browser), on Unix and MS DOS. Most Unix windows managers and UI toolkits followed this as well. It was never called dark mode, though. Windows 95 just had a dark color scheme for the chrome. IIRC it was called High Contrast. Also some applications, like Windows Commander (clone of Norton Commander for Windows, which was later renamed to Total Commander). But again, it was never called dark mode. It's just a reminiscence from the Unix consoles. Also, Android started with a dark UI. White text on black background. Back in 2008 or so. There was no light mode, until some manufacturers changed it to black text on white background. Maybe around 2010 or so.

I started lately using Light mode during the day and things have became more clear and clean and also more production. Because i found out on dark mode platforms, apps, sites, interfaces makes you available to stay more on a page and stay there more, or even stare! So because of this you can do stuff and focus on production then enjoing satisfaction of light reduction but guess what, on light mode colors look so fresh or good! Tho darkmode on phones always :))

Both modes suck, but they also excel. It depends on the content, device, lighting conditions and of course personal preference.
