I believe you are right drinking for the most part is a cultural thing and with the cultural shift and drugs being everywhere and cheaper then drinking and pot being legalized drinking is taking a back seat with the younger generations.. That's probably a good thing.. But the drug Alternative is definitely no better.. Plus all domestic and imported beer's and liquors are owned by In-Bev a Globalist Lizard People company partnered with big pharma I have noticed that men who drink beer regularly have "gynecomastia" -->men who grow titties and lactate I know this is conspiracy theory Alex Jone's gay frog water thing But I personally would not trust anything that Globalist Lizard people and Big Pharma have any part of period.. It also seems strange to me that like half the population of the world has become homosexual, transgender or pedophiles or all three together over night.. Amazing how you sober up you start to notice these things.. Just seems kinda strange to me..

If God lets us choose...who the heck are other humans taking choices away from each other about their own bodies?! @tech5298 then you are not an alcoholic or even someone who has problems with drinking. Currently active alcoholic. Planning to quit in the near future. This video literally brought tears to my eyes. I think the hardest thing about this video is it forces me to confront the fact that every night I drink until I pass out, and I know I'm hurting myself, but I'm so fucked up inside I keep doing it. Even though I have an amazing job, a once in a lifetime spouse and two absolutely beautiful children. Every night and all day long during the day on my days off I'm always under the influence. I don't want to escape my reality anymore. My life is amazing. I think I just hate the person I am without it. I don't know how to be light hearted and easy going without it. I don't know how to be or maybe just not motivated to be funny or outgoing without it. I can't just relax and enjoy life without it. I can't love and appreciate my wife and kids without it. But it's all a facade. It's all fake. It's induced. It's like I'm doctor Jekyll and Mr Hyde. Only Mr Hyde is who I am when I'm sober. Inpatient, harsh, rigid, cold. I want to be who I am when I'm drinking without being drunk.

I've been exactly where you are at.. and it took me nearly 10 years to finally quit.. unfortunately, someone in your situation usually stops drinking in only one of 3 ways. 1- your brain becomes so damaged from years (or decades) of abuse that you start recognizing irreversible signs of alcohol related brain damage and dementia. 2- something horrible happens that forces you to rethink everything.. car crash, dead family member, financial loss, jail, dismemberment, alcohol related diseases (mouth cancer, stomach cancer, esophageal cancer, etc.. . 3- Death. The wake of destruction that alcohol takes on you and those around you grows with every passing year and those negative effects are exponential and compound with each year, Quit now before you have to go through what a real long term drinker has to go through.

I almost died some 45 years ago After attending a party when in college. I took my bottle of Paul Masson Rose wine home, even though we all had plenty to eat during the function and plenty to drink -- I woke up the next morning after going to bed to sleep it off. I'd gotten sick while asleep , had I choked Ugh the laundry I had to do that morning, a shower to get the smell off me ... I'd not be here to tell the tale. I'm in my mid-60s now. Swore off all wine and social drinking from that point on, anything drank by myself was limited by me for only special occasions. Like maybe a couple times a year birthday, wedding invite, etc. Had my last drink at a restaurant over 36 years ago. Don't miss any form of alcohol. I have seen people's lives unravel from it! Best thing is to avoid this 'evil' little social crutch.

I quit drinking 15 months ago, after a 43-year run with a few months or so of abstaining here and there. Definitely the longest I've gone without a drink and I haven't craved it or been called by it. AA helped a lot as did some voluntary outpatient sessions. It was time to let it go. I feel a lot better without question. I do enjoy weed though but it's not detrimental to me. I've been into and around it since I started drinking but I was able to quit it without any trouble a few times so I'm not concerned about it since I learned moderation a long time ago. It does help with my anxiety and Parkinson's. I learned some eye-opening stuff about alcohol when I was in outpatient.

Understandable but disagreeable. You can get drunk, just don’t be a drunkard. If ur sober a lot of the time, you can let loose and have a fun experience. If ur doing it all the time, ur decisions become impacted along with everything else in ur life. The fun times are also no longer fun. So ppl should enjoy life n have fun while not letting it control them. It makes u a better person

At the age of nearly 70 I look back on a life of almost no alcohol - often zero for decades at a time - with gratitude. But the motivation to ban it must come from something greater than our previous failed attempts to do so. It has to come from an inner transformation of our social thinking and values. Sadly I do not think we are ready for this just yet.

I have gotten my drinking under control since six years ago when I went on carnivore diet. Now I only have a celebratory drink on holidays, and I am around alcohol all the time. I face the temptation all the time and have zero issue staring it down. Occasional cigars are much nicer and enjoyable. Now to take issue with the video. I will never support the banning of any substance. Prohibition was a disaster and the drug war has been an even bigger disaster. Dangerous liberty is the answer, and we must embrace this fact. External controls backed up by threats of force and violence do not solve problems for society or individuals. The individual will not be free from his weaknesses until he learns to overcome them. No law can bring this to us. There is also a second area of consideration. There are disease processes that ethanol is known to have a positive effect on. You'll find plenty of studies on this in the area of epilepsy and maybe even depression, and more if you care to look at the NCBI.

Drugs impact different people in different ways. Contradictory to Jordan Peterson’s assertion that alcohol makes people more aggressive, it affects me in exactly the opposite way. I am far more aggressive when completely sober than I am after a drink or two. Of course, my nervous system is a contradiction to the typical models of science. I suffer from ADHD and OCD and am an unorganized, ineffective, and impatient wreck without Adderall. I’m an engineer with an IQ considered in the exceptionally gifted category and my primary school teachers were perplexed by me. In the third grade we took the CAT test and my reading comprehension was on a college student level. I was a behavioral nightmare sitting in those classes waiting on everyone else to catch on to what I immediately understood and could innately abstract to other contexts and paradigms. My third grade teacher finally just put me at a table by myself and told me to learn at my own pace. This was in November and I finished the entire curriculum of that grade before Christmas, passing all tests with As. I then just made my own curriculum and had to request books from the high school library to stay engaged. I was reading about algebra, geometry, physics, biology at a high school level. I had basically the same experience in every other grade. The teachers eventually just let me go at my own pace to keep me assuaged.

I still dranked but not often, i went from drinking 4 times a week to drinking twice a month, now I don't drink at all. The people i hung with , i realize they were a great influence. Either they'd talk about their problems or I talked about mine , can you imagine comparing problems. Instead of enjoyment I was depressed all the time . After awhile I would drink alone and i was still depressed. Drinking wasn't fun anymore, it made me think about past situations. Many reasons why they're called ", Spirit's, alcohol literally open negative doors. I have family members who passed from drinking, that in itself is enough to want to stop . I've been clean and sober for 40 years as of last January. A lot of the things this video says is true to some but not all. Opinions are overwhelmingly to some because it's inconceivable to most that suffer from alcoholism. The hardest fact of all is that the effects are different for different people and the results are the same for all alcoholics. Focusing on the problem excessively looses the solution, and that is SELF commitment.
