Easy. There was a shift from contant to graphics. Fundamentally changing what is in the games. Remeber god of war? That game was killing mobs in their 1000s. Ton of honkahonkers, And a angry greek dude. Than God of war morfed into Dad of Boi, a walking sim with the odd mob to kill. Also no honkahonkers in site. Games back in the day, was like here is how it works, im only going to tell you this once. This is how you move, off you go. No quest arowes, no hand holding. You needed to take notes sometimes. The people making the games of old, tryed to make an intressting world, world building was a thing, well writen dialog and story. some games even had companons, guess what, they where well writen. Games of old also tryed to make the best looking characters that the graphics alowed them to. Now it is for the moden audienace, handholding, dumbing down of everything. world building, is for the most part no there, dialog, story, companons, does not matter and is poorly writen. Also no attractive female characters. So good looking graphics means jack squat unless the rest of the content in the game is any good. Sometimes the moden game devs fail at both. Bad graphics and full of bugs, piss poor dialog, story, world building.

I have this little philosophy that, as I always wish I could go back to those days, I wouldn't really want to go back to them. What I think I really wish for is that the 90's/2000's could have come with us instead. I wish that it was like the 90's/2000's right now but with modern technology and advancements. I don't want to go back in time, I just wish we still lived in the same world but better. It was probably one of the best years of my life! and the entire 2000's was a great decade actually.... thing is, even if you take away all that "forced acceptance" and toxicity, all that "care not to offend anyone, but everything offends everyone so your care is actually in vain" even if you take that away from today's society, there are still other problems in the culture, and especially in the entertainment industry... Despite technological superiority, games are now increasingly generic and seen by companies as cash farms, instead of what it was in the 2000s, which despite having an interest in profits, was still niche and aimed at the nerd audience of the 90s, it still had soul, most devs worked in the area because they did what they liked, which created incredible products that even with the limited technology of the time managed to go very far, we had magnificent games that didn't age a single day, masterpieces like GT4 on the PS2 for example... and there were games with splitscreen, god bring back splitscreen... we had a culture involved with real humans and not this virtual ilusion that we got today. I lost count of how many summer vacation nights I spent playing my Nintendo 64 with my brother all night long... These memories can no longer be replicated because things will never be the same again... the world stopped being incredible and gave way to something generic and less happy and real. The technology that was supposed to bring us closer has made everyone more distant one of the worst things that happened to us was the creation of social networks for example, anyway, this whole problem goes much further, after 2012 we didn't know what we were doing and everything evolved into a worse version of our world. Most of those who lived through that time think about going back there, every day.

"Trials of Mana" is a remake of the 1995 classic SNES game "Seiken Densetsu 3." The original wasn't released in the West like many story-rich RPGs back in the day. I am a 45-year-old man and remember playing the original translated ROM on my PC. Although I believe in most things you say about games becoming more woke, the original "Trials of Mana" is probably older than you and definitely wasn't a woke SNES game. Also, having a colorful art style doesn't make something "woke" or "gay." The gay/trans community doesn't own colors. A game doesn't need to be dark, bleak, blood, and gore to be a good game.

I think games like Astro Bot are good. There definitely is rated E games that appeal to kids too that don't need to be masculine. He says it's dumb that people bring up the fact he's comparing triple A games to random game pass indie games but it's a valid criticism. Not every game needs to cater to the masculine male audience. I do think there are some activists going on right now that are trying to bring the game industry down, but Katamari Damacy is a game that came out in 2004 and its suppose to be fruitful and has wacky Japanese sense of humor. And Trials Of Mana is a SNES game that only came out in Japan and got a remake finally giving Americans a chance to play when they had to use a fan translation and it always had this kind of art style, even Secret Of Mana had that anime art style. It's really hard to agree with you in this one. Katamari has a huge fanbase and it isn't gay at all, theres is no Dei injected into it. There is definitely room for obscure indie games with cartoonish artstyles that are fun and goofy (as long as DEI is not inserted into it). What would help is if they came out with new badass masculine games as well as these games. Also nothing wrong with not liking the anime artstyle or jrps like Trials of Mana but don't call it gay, they tell amazing stories with masculine and feminine good looking characters. There is room for both inoffensive and non DEI cartoony/anime/obscure games and masculine badass games. Dont attack something that has nothing to do with Dei just cause it isn't masculine, isntead lets ask for more masculine games.

The original story is that the King got drunk and destroyed the moon and stars, after which he ordered you (his son) to fix it all. He's quite abusive and a funny character to boot. Neither game has left wing propaganda in it and Katamari in particular is a respected series, even has an exhibit. I do love stuff like DOOM and Quake, revolutionary games in the FPS genre, but sometimes, I like games with a bit more color and a lighthearted premise that are equally as revolutionary in other ways. Just to fact check you another time, We Love Katamari's remaster came out in June 2023! Trials of Mana's remake came out in April 2020. The presence of an indie developer making a colorful party game for people to play on the couch doesn't automatically undermine the possibility for games in other genres to exist. They're disconnected and appeal to different markets. Back in 2004 indies weren't making Halo or COD, but the market is now accessible to smaller teams. I still see gory dark games coming out from indie developers.

2004 was an amazing year for gaming, and I haven't felt the same excitement for anything released in the past few years. Right now, I'm enjoying metroidvania-style games and beat 'em ups like Blasphemous 2, Streets of Rage 4, The Messenger, along with "boomer shooters" like Dusk, Prodeus and Turbo Overkill. These types of games are bringing me more fun than any recent AAA titles. I've also been replaying older games like Far Cry 2 and 3, God Of War ( the old, epic ones, not the new boring, depressing Dad Of War), Metro Last Light, Half Life 2, Red Dead Redemption and others. But 2004, what a year! Far Cry, Half-Life 2, Chronicles of Riddick, Halo 2, San Andreas, Prince of Persia: Warrior Within, KOTOR, Fable, Doom 3, NFS Underground 2, The Suffering, WoW, Battlefront, Burnout 3...

This is probably one of the first videos I disagree with. You also have to take in consideration the volume of games being released now due to the investors and fans that have moved into the video game design market compared to back then. There is a free market and a mass increase of genres within video games industry. You cannot make a single game and have it appeal to every single gamer out there. You are also comparing a lot of more T-M rated games set in the First/Third person mature shooter to puzzle games like even Katamari. That game there was innovative for its time back then and filled the need for just plain entertainment with little to no learning curve. You know, the very thing a video game should be doing which is providing entertainment. You'd be better off making the argument of taking older titles like WoW and League of Legends and comparing them to how gay they are now days because you are then just taking the same game as back then and comparing it to now which is progressively more gay as your videos title shows. Video games are for everyone, period. They are entertainment for people to experience as a solo player or in a group/party setting like one you mentioned in this video. What I, and many others hate is how they are coming with forced political and social messages instead of focusing on being an outlet of entertainment. Also one last point. There were a LOT of games back then that were just awful even with them being some masculine badass type of game. The ones that did well have mostly lived on to see expansions like GTA you mentioned. So yeah, I'd just suggest instead of comparing previous 20 year old titles in the category of T-M compared to E-T(M) to just comparing itself to previous versions/generations.
