Question: Would it be smart to trade Prismatic Product for Evolving Skies product at 80% value? I have a feeling a reprint is coming for PE and with ES being so hard to find nowadays I feel like it would be a good move.

How long are you looking to hold either product? I think, for all that there will be re-prints of PE, the demand for the set is ridiculous. That demand will be tempered somewhat with Journey Together and Rocket set later this year but even still, I think PE will be a pretty valuable set when we get to the end of its 2 year print run. Also, you need to consider that we will then be into Gen 10 after this print run and, typically, the early sets in a new generation are not as strong as later sets. This in turn could make the previous SV era sets more popular. I think both PE and ES will gain value, so there isn’t really a wrong option here. I’d question how much the price will actually drop for PE and that’s before we even consider how crazy it will be if the pull rates are as difficult as has been shown on a few videos and live streams recently (the pull rates are much worse than the equivalent Terastal Festival Japanese set).

Totally agree that a lot was ripped. The amount of packs that I opened with the family was staggering. It was such a fun set to open if you could open that many packs - which wasn’t hard on release because it was cheap and available. It came out at the dying end of the Pokemon craze of the pandemic. Most who were left enjoyed opening packs hence opened a lot. I remember preorder cases selling for$AUD 960, that’s $160 per booster box.

As far as i remember. The set came out in september of 2021. Then there was a decently big reprint of the set in January 2022, i remember that was the moment i started investing in 10 boxes. Back then the set (in Europe) went down from €140 to €110 because of that reprint.

It did get a big reprint. I was able to get BBs for $90. It came at the same time as chilling and battle styles so it completely tanked the market

Great explanation PokeOz. I came back to pokemon collecting early last year towards the end of sword and shield era to check the modern vibes and was pretty quick to pick up evolving skies was a great set. picked up a booster box and some etbs for some great prices when you could negotiate the price. Will keep these sealed forever as I’m sure they’ll be great collector items as some of Pokémon’s TCG most iconic collecting moments. It’s a crazy set and could have easily been divided into two sets
