Am certainly guilty for that. When I was around 6-7 years old, I played the hell out of gen 4. Loved it to bits and it truly sparked my love for pokemon. But around 12, I left pokemon as it started to get boring for me. And then I randomly saw an episode of XYZ, saw greninja, and got hooked once more. Following even XY just for greninja / ash's story arc. I loved every bit of it, and im happy I came back.

I feel like the writers could have done more with the bond phenomenon as for all we know, Ash and Greninja barely scratched the surface of their power, they brought out their own power like mega evolution and in the battle against Alain he used that giant golden shuriken which was kind of like a Z-move. That does bring up an interesting question if Ash’s bond phenomenon with greninja was so strong how did it lose to Alain’s Mega Charizard? The Kalos journey was so awesome! I still miss this series... This was so perfect! There were a few flaws but still, nothing tops off XY series. Especially because they risked it by involving "love" In a "kids show😒", it just made the whole series more special! The character development is so awesome too. Especially Serena's coz she didn't know what to do when everyone expected her to be a rhyhorn racer until she found her passion. Or just how ash got so much matured, just going from an arrogant boy to a strong trainer with such a bond with his pokemon. His greninja's battle bond made it such a fan fav in no time. But talking about the flaws, First of all ash should've won the league. He had every right to win it, trying and experiencing battles so much. And also did so much hard work with his greninja and other pokemon. This was clearly a win for ash but that broken charizard ruined everything. I can't ever forgive or forget that... Next one can be still forgivable, and that was serena suffering the same fate, trying so hard and losing in the finals. But since this was her first try, there's no problem. But poor ash has been trying it for years (i know he hasn't aged). But all else is fine. The adventure filled journey, the boss battle at the end, theme everything is a 10/10 rating i would give XY series is 9/10. I hope they bring back *SERENA* and greninja in pokemon journeys. Everyone has got a return outside of their own series, why not serena?!

The reason is everything they ( ash and Greninja ) went through and the episode where they departed for separate ways. If if Greninja is in sword and shield and continuing games as basically if there are pokemon in that game those pokemon appear in anime so if Greninja is in those dexs then surely he will return also charusharu I want you to look further into this as this will make a great video idea . AshGreninja is the culmination of everything being done right. The look and feel of the XYZ series did some growning up, maturing, and felt more like it was directed at it's original audience who are all now adults: From the new Illustration, to the music during the fight scenes that got you pumped up, to taking on and holding their own against opponents like an unbeatable champion to zygrade itself (oh and saving the entire world for good measure), and all the way to AshGreninja's ever developing and expanding move set that dominated battles to such extremes that it felt more like we where watching an action adventure series instead of the pokemon we all grew up with. In short it was everything we had been waiting for over two decades all wrapped up in one pokemon! The kewl factor of everything stated above plus the ability of evolution without the need of stones made their BOND special, unique, and I personally think AshGreninja is the sole reason Greninja was voted the #1 pokemon of the year!!

Definitely there is no doubt he is a badass,cool , one of the strongest pokemon and that ash-greninja/ satoshi-gekkouga form is the coolest one My only problem is he had toooo much spotlight bcoz of that I only like greninja from his xy team not others Anddd The main thing is that ash left him is for a silly reason...Just hope journeys bring him back again🤞🤞

I think Greninja is popular because of his return would also correlate to the return of the XY gang, most notably Serena. In my opinion, the strength of the bonds between Ash and his pokemon also correlate with the strength of Ash's bonds with his friends. Even though Ash won in the Alola league, I still think that his XY team is his most powerful team to date. I don't think it's a coincidence that Ash's arguably strongest Pokemon came was in the anime at the same time his arguably closest group and friends were as well. The anime, to me, is not just about following your dreams, but also creating a family away from family. It doesn't surprise me that Ash's strongest team happened in Kalos because no group of friends, in my opinion, embodied the concept of family more than the XY gang did.

Waiting for something like ash lucario arc huh then ash's greninja will get jealous and come back to ash and will fight lucario to show lucario that it's the ace but it will loose and it will enter Ash's team again or maybe lucario will loose and will train with greninja (greninja teaching lucario actually it's good something like zygarde's gift to ash was that riolu maybe because of that it didn't hatch without Ash's presence

Man I think greninjaxash can still get stronger even vs Charizard it unlocked a new move the golden water shuriken. I think bond evolution can get really strong, stronger than mega evolution.
