Why is Israel invading Rafah? Husam Zomlot speaks to LBC

A Gaza ceasefire would be possible tomorrow if Hamas freed Israeli hostages, US president Joe Biden has said.
Speaking at a fundraiser near Seattle on Saturday, Mr Biden said: "There would be a ceasefire tomorrow if Hamas would release the hostages.
"Israel said it’s up to Hamas, if they wanted to do it, we could end it tomorrow. And the ceasefire would begin tomorrow."
His remarks came after the IDF said it is expanding its operation and moving into an area in northern Gaza where Hamas has regrouped.
Amidst all of this, Lewis Goodall was joined by Palestine's ambassador to the UK, Husam Zomlot, to discuss the ongoings.

I have seen it first hand when I unfortunately went for a holiday with a woman. I had the worst experience and it broke me. How they treat people who is not of the country or belief is criminal. He dominates the conversation with stock talking points. It might sound great, in the same way a speech does, but as an ambassador it undermines his function. It's not bringing anyone over who isn't already. His arguments are already known so simply repeating history isn't going to convince anyone to back your cause (beyond the arms length sympathy). And what is the cause? Because he mixes in cessation of current hostilities (immediately important) with redress of historical events from 100 years ago. That is a massive failure. He got baited by the journalist who was just following a paymaster script. So it should have been more than predictable but he still tripped up.
