I’m eagerly following the Type 65 build. I’m intrigued by your choice of Terminator brakes. I’ve been following the forums and FB groups for years and never heard that idea before! I built a Gen2 Type 65: ladder frame, TBird IRS, Coyote and TKO600 … and did lots of mods to make it a road trip car. 20,000 miles on it so far including a drive on the Lincoln Highway from PA to the western terminus in San Francisco. Carry on, sir!

Wow that’s awesome! How’s your hearing? I want to use as much sound deadening as I can to make it comfortable. Im trying to do as much as I can, but it’s been hard recently with 2 small kids haha. But I hope to work on it more frequently soon!

Even with all the sound deadening I could think of I still use an ANR headset when driving!

The REAL reason it's called a Type 65 is due to lawsuits against Factory Five in the mid -2000s. The 65 Daytona became the Type 65 and the Cobra became the Roadster. The Daytona Spider became The Spider. They also stopped with COBRA logos on items such as wind wings. Even a fan forum called ffCobra changed to ffCars. All litigation against Factory Five failed, but the names are still the same. As follows, 32 Roadster and not a 32 Ford Kit Car, et al.

Ya but. ...it looks nothing like that sloped back, ugly bubble Type 65 next version. So why Type 65 for the Factory 5.

Correct, so people wanted the original car for obvious reasons, but they wanted to build a replica that was more streetable. Which is why they made it a little bigger and longer. They used the type 65 because that’s what the super coupe was called, but kept the original look.
