⁠bro the reason podcast succeed is because they are ran like a family unit or a close freind circle it’s suppose to be lenient with little to no rules as long as it doesn’t mess with the brand itself because controversy is what brings in revenue . Once it’s starts getting treated like a job you can feel the energy shift , power trips , and resentment amongst the host and it just ends up failing because if your going to be restricted by a schedule and a bunch of rules and pay cuts you might as well work an regular job . And this is why joe numbers are a fraction of what they used to be . His talent gets him places his character can’t maintain

And that’s because the original pod felt like friends shooting the shit having fun discussing hip hop . The new pod has its moments but overall feels like watching co workers mingle at a work party . Or family that only fw each other on the holidays . Shit just feels forced and unauthentic . It’s misfortunate Rory and mal started off so unfamiliar with each other which made it hard to watch their podcast and turned a lot of people away . But honestly they do real deep dives into hip hop and it feels like a real freind / family unit of conversation. (Hence why even tho joe throws shots sometimes he watches them and had even took some of their content ideas that joe has NEVER done until Rory and mal did it on their own .
