I think this is a reason a lot of DIYers on youtube don't demonstrate actual skin feel in their body butter recipe videos. It looks simple and amazing in a jar with flower petals but upon skin application, you leave a greasy trail everywhere you go and everything you touch (people around you will know. lol). Also, you're going to want to wash your bed sheets more often. Emulsified body butter is the best. Thanks for making this video and sharing your experience.

You've reminded me of one of the first body butters I made, following a recipe I found online. It was all in volumes-cups of shea, cocoa, and jojoba. It whipped up beautifully, but it was SO oily and I had SO much of it, oh my heavens. If it hadn't been for the pride/excitement of making it myself I can't imagine I would've used it 😬
@mdml03 жыл бұрын
@@HumblebeeAndMe I think we've all been through that phase. You apply it on your skin whilst trying to convince yourself it's amazing cuz it's homemade and "all natural" and you're gonna love it no matter what. 😬

The problem is MOST people do not know how to use body butters. If you apply them right after you get out of the shower they work marvelously.

I've found butters that are incredibly absorbent, but not hydrating at all. Not only do they not hydrate, they dry out the skin. Don't all those chemical additives, isopropyl, propane, methane, cetyl alcohol and others, dry out the skin? Aren't all those things something that should never be added because they are harmful to the body? Mango butter is a very expensive butter, what is its substitute? Which butter actually hydrates dry skin? What is cocoa butter? Tnx 🌷
@TheXenocorpse2 жыл бұрын
Are you applying them to WET skin? They won’t moisturize unless you hydrate your skin first with water, mists, etc
@1337Cassie2 жыл бұрын
Lol who's putting propane in your butters? And then you're also complaining about the price of a high quality ingredient like mango butter lmao. Lady, sounds like you're going to have to pick Do you want mango butter or DEADLY TOXIC CHEMICALZZZZZZ
@JustKrista505 ай бұрын
Most "dry" oils absorb right into the skin, which is what you want. A mix of dry and heavy butter makes a very healthy for your skin butter. Those chemicals are what oils and butters are made of broke down to a single chemical. Everything, including you, is made up of chemicals. It's been a year, so hopefully you've learned a lot more by now.

Hi Marie, just wanted to let you know I am a new subscriber from Australia and just love all your videos. Its so hard to find content out there if you do want to start making your own home products and i’ve got to say your videos have been very helpful, so thank you! Just wondering if you could give any advice on making a face cream for my 9yr old who has sensitive itchy skin. Should i just pick one of your face cream recipes and maybe add some essential oils that could help into that recipe? Cheers Rachel

@HumblebeeAndMe2 жыл бұрын
Lowering the melting point of the formulation can help, but it's also a good idea to remember that water and oil don't mix, so if your skin is very wet, the water and body butter won't be interested in hanging out. Happy making!
