I have a 100w light bulb for my chameleon I was told to get it but he does gap a lot while under the light should I lower the voltage ? It normally stays between 80-85 in his cage and I don’t know where to get real plants from for it I’m new to this all

I just finished my chameleons cage and i noticed ever since he has been on his baskin branch he opens his mouth and closes it and he is really puffy. Any idea why he is doing that? Is it cause he is really hot?

i watched this video specifically because I was at petco yesterday and I saw one veiled chameleon with head tilted up and mouth wide open and I kept thinking to myself "what are they doing? this cannot be good" and then another had eyes completely shut. THAT I knew was very bad. Poor babies :( breaks my heart.

Without seeing what they look like, it’s hard to say. But chameleons will shake back and forth when they walk to imitate a leaf or they can do that if they’re sick with metabolic bone disease.

My panther chameleon is really spoiled, but I have a question. It isn’t like eating out of his bowl. He likes me feeding him sometimes he’ll eat up till like three hornworms and then when I spray my plants, he opens his mouth and let me spray water to him should I be concerned, or take them to the vet he does not have his mouth open at any time or his nose in the air whatsoever.

Do you know if scented candles are bad for chameleons ? I stopped using them ever since I got mine just in case.

Yes those are terrible, don't use those or febreeze or anything with strong chemicals that covers the air. Soy candles might be ok just make sure you have good airflow and a fan

I’ve had my chameleon for about two months now. We just decided to get dragon strand ledges and we’re wondering if it would be bad or stressful for him if we changed his setup quite a bit.

It will be a little stressful for him so try to make all of your changes at one time. But I wouldn’t worry about it too much if you’re making changes for the better :)

I have bought 3 chameleons now who all died. I have a ventilated tank the right bulbs but I order from shot places and now I finally am done with chameleons. There will never be another kiwi. My baby has a respiratory infection I just bought her and now shes gonna die. I'm just so fucking sad rn

I just caught my chameleon doing this and of course you already put out a video about this. Thank you! Watching your videos helped me get started understanding its behaviors. My chichi is now desensitized to being handled and hangs out with me in our living room in our big pothos plant that hangs above. Even our local reptile vets weren't this helpful.

I’ve had mine for about a month and a half now and he’s around 4 months old now. It’s a male ambilobe panther chameleon and sometimes it has allot of green and a tiny bit of blue and sometimes yellow and red but then sometimes he’s just completely brown or grey. As he gets older could he change completely opposite colours as what he’s showing now? :)

If he's 4 months old then he has a lot of growing left to do and won't show his full colors until he is closer to 1-year old.

I got given a mistreated veiled, a young lad who didn’t have a clue what to do.. and the basking bulb to close to the branch and it burnt all his spines , he was also malnourished and had not to bad mbd. Had him for for nearly 2 years now healthy he’s healed and the correct weight…still can’t use his tongue so it’s hand feeding for him. But he’s still miserable as sinn but we love him anyway

I need help!! I just got a beautiful 9 month old pied veiled chameleon. I have absolutely fallen in love with her and want her to thrive. Her previous owner took poor care of her, providing her with the wrong uvb, branches, plants, bulbs, humidity, and supplements they also did not give her a laying box and she said she has been digging at her cage for 3 months. I have all of her supplies on the way coming as soon as possible and I have bought every other thing she needs I just don’t have the stuff offline yet. I have set up a laying box for her but I’m worried she can’t lay her eggs due to improper supplementation and possibly being egg bound, so far she has eaten for me once and I’ve only had her for two days now and found out about it two days before I got her. I also don’t believe she looks full grown which worries me as well because I know the previous owner has only been feeding her 2-3 times a week, I’m not sure when she started this schedule but I am thinking it might have been too early and she didn’t get all the food she needed when she needed it? I am calling the vet tomorrow but I’m not sure what more I can do to help her, does anyone have any suggestions on what I can be doing better for this poor girl?

hey, my chameleon opens its mouth very slightly and looks upwards and kind of moves his throat up and down, he usually does this after eating. is this just him digesting?

If it's after eating it might just be them swallowing but it's hard for me to say without seeing it.
